This presentation is about Skakespeare's longest play and one of the most powerful and influential tragedy in the English language: Hamlet. It also includes a comparison with the famous film, The Lion Ling.
Hamlet is far from a perfect character. His depression and melancholy, however understandable, cause him to misunderstand Ophelia and The Queen. he kills polonius by mistake, but he also sends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to their deaths with clear calculation.
Hamlet's insistence that even that part should be faced with courage, good humor and understanding which distinguishes him from the other characters and makes him Tragic Hero.

2. Plot hamlet is a story filled with betrayal death and madness. Its about a prince driven mad by the ghost of his father. This is because his father urges him to avenge his supposed murder by his brother (hamlets uncle). This sends Hamlet into a sense of rage and confusion as he strives to build evidence. Meanwhile Polonius believes that Hamlet is going insane due to Hamlet's neglecting of his beautiful daughter Ophelia.
3. Hamlet Hamlet is the prince of Denmark who is driven in the play by disbelief confusion and anger. This is all caused by the ghost believed to be his father telling him that his uncle killed him to marry Hamlets mother and become the new king of Denmark. Hamlets supposed madness leads to him killing Ophelia's father out of paranoia, also the madness of Ophelia due to Hamlets ignoring of her.
4. Claudius Claudius is seen and known as the villain of the play due to him being accused and found to have killed his brother the king of Denmark to become king and marry his brothers wife. He later plans to kill Hamlet by teaming up with Ophelia's brother to kill him with poison and incase he failed poisons the wine which later kills Gertrude. However his plan backfires as Hamlet kills Ophelia's brother and then kills Claudius and forces him to drinking the wine to make sure it kills him.
5. Gertrude Gertrude is actually very innocent throughout the play where she is a very loving caring mother of Hamlet who tries to save him from what she believes in madness. In the play she is very demanding and wanting of love and attention and is often why she is centered around the men in the play.
6. Polonius and Laertes Polonius father of Ophelia is and Laertes her brother are no very big characters in Hamlet however they are very surrounded by conspiracy and word of mouth. As they both watch Hamlet from and distance and also observe the amount in which Hamlet ignores Ophelia. Ophelia later drowns herself and Laertes blames hamlet for her insanity which lead her to kill herself which he vows to kill Hamlet. Polonius spy's on Hamlet to try and find out method to his madness and gets killed by Hamlet as he finds someone behind the curtain for spying on him and is killed. Laertes is also killed later in the play as he makes a plan with Claudius to dual with Hamlet with a poisoned sword and if he cuts him Hamlet shall die however he stabs Hamlet, but Hamlet also stabs Laertes and he dies also.
7. Ophelia Ophelia is the dominate female of the play who has been paired with Hamlet to be his queen to be the next queen on Denmark however hamlet is driven insane with the thought of revenge of his fathers death neglecting Ophelia and she starts to also turn insane and drowns herself because she cannot understand why her beloved Hamlet has gone insane.
8. Horatio Horatio is the soothsayer of the story if you ask me because he is the only character who survives the play and is the person who lives to tell of Hamlet to prove he was a worthy man. He is also the person who has to tell the Prince of Norway what has happened and he orders for Hamlets body to be carried off in honor and have a royal burial for his bravery.
9. Conclusion In conclusion the play is very depressing as it is filled with madness death and insanity but is one of a true hero who would stop at nothing for the justice of his rightful kingdom and the honor of his father.
