Solving the Foreclosure Crisis Essay example
I notice that a lot of American politics is about ending major crisis at home and worldwide.
Unfortunately the politicians seem to go off course or side tracked on their particular platform or their
states agenda. A major dilemma that needs to be addressed in American politics is the current
foreclosure rate in the housing market. The issue needs to be addressed because our entire financial
stability seems to be balanced on the housing market. When the housing market crashed subsequently
the stock market crashed soon after it. As a result of both the real estate and the stock market crash the
banks opted out to tighten up their belts by increasing the criteria to apply for credit and loans. For
most Americans who have or had middle class ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition from Wikipedia states a housing bubble is characterized by rapid increases in the
valuations of real property such as housing until unsustainable levels are reached relative to incomes,
price to rent ratios, and other economic indicators of affordability.
The market correction also affects major markets including (but not limited to) the retail markets. For
the last five years the sales projection for all areas of the retail market has drastically declined and still
no one has been able to make their quotas despite the numerous stimulus attempts from the
government. The housing market correction further the pain on the working class American because
the retail companies has started to pressure their employees to make impossible sales to keep the
companies afloat. These employees are the same working class Americans who experiencing the
money crunch and are barely able to pay their bills and/or invoices of past due on their homes.
Unfortunately after months of not meeting sales projections retail companies had to scale back their
losses by either making salary cuts or reducing the number of employees. As of the most recent news
report I have seen the United States unemployment rate has increased to 10.0 percent.
Also the market correction has affected the quality of life for all Americans. I seen a recent study that
says depression is on the rise amongst all

Sociology Research Methods, Minority Groups, Women and Work, Carribean Studies many others. I
have managed to study a variety of courses in a traditional classroom setting as well studying courses
online. While most of my academic studies were completed in a traditional classroom setting, my last
year and half I completed online at Empire State College Center for Distance Learning. One of the
main reasons i am interested in studying online is because when I tried it out it was exciting, new to
me and it me gave the flexibility that I needed when work and family responsibilities were a concern.
In addition, to studying online I was able to organize a more concrete educational plan and manage my

Global Warming Warning Essay examples
Global Warming Warning
In 2007, the Arctic reached a 30 year low for sea ice (University of Colorado at Boulder). This is
because of global warming or what scientists refer to climate change. The issue with global warming
is that it has impactions for damage to future generations. Prevention of a global climate change
depends on early detection of human made effects on climate. The current views on global warming
are; those who do not think that the Earth is undergoing a climate change, others that believe the Earth
is going through a climate change due to humans, and some who believe that Earth is going through a
climate change but is not because of human activities. In order to understand global warming, we have
to look to technical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using that methodology the air trapped in the ice can be tested to determine atmospheric gases in the
past. The speed in which temperature has increased over the last few decades is alarming compared to
the rate over the last century. Global surface temperature has increased 0.6 degrees Celsius in the past
thirty years, and 0.8 in the last century (Hansen 14288). The significant increase can be directly
related to the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. For the last 650,000 years, atmospheric
CO2 has never been above 300 parts per million (Hansen 14288). In 1950 CO2 parts per million were
at 280, today they are at 380. Direct observations indicate that CO2 is rising sharply due to human
activity (Cook). The main source of CO2 emissions is the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and
gas in power plants, automobiles, and industrial facilities (United States Environmental Protection
Agency). It is most evident in the addition of automobiles on the road today. Motor vehicles have been
rising by 3.69 million each year since 1960. Currently there are over 255 million registered passenger
vehicles on the road today (U.S Department Of Transportation).
It is difficult to get people concerned about global warming because it is a problem of the future.
Global warming is like a falling rock, in the beginning atop a mountain it may be easy to bring to a

The problems during the 1819 Highland Clearances what they are known today is the eviction of
families renting their homes on estates so large scale sheep farming can take place. Regardless if the
families had been there for four generations and paid their rent on time, yet they were still evicted. The
manner of which some were evicted was violent as fire was set to homes in front of families, or as
reported that a mother about to give birth with fires all around but later died later died due to the noise,
uncertainty and grief caused her to pass away. Within a fortnight 100 families were left without a

Forensic Science Vs Criminal Justice Essay
When a college student must decide what he/she wants to do for a career, this can be the most difficult
decision the student will ever have to make about his/her life, because it is forever. The student has
now decided that is down to two choices: forensic science or criminal justice.
Forensic science is the application of sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science
and engineering to matters of law. Forensic science can help investigators understand how blood
spatter patterns occur (physics), learn the composition and source of evidence such as drugs and trace
materials (chemistry) or determine the identity of an unknown suspect (biology) ( Forensic Sciences )

This is because each state has different laws and agencies. For state(s) to prosecute within their
criminal justice systems a crime has to be committed within their state boundaries, but if a crime is
committed on federal property or in multiple states, it is handle by the federal criminal justice system (
The Criminal Justice System ). In both state and federal criminal justice systems, there are five
different components that make up the criminal justice process, law enforcement, prosecution, defense
attorneys, courts, and corrections ( The Criminal Justice System ). Law enforcement takes reported
crimes and investigates the crime(s) committed, arrests the accused, gives testimony in court, and they
may conduct follow up investigations if it is needed ( The Criminal Justice System ). The prosecution
is lawyers who represent either the state or federal government ( The Criminal Justice System ) in a
court case. Defense attorneys defend the accused, and they are either hired by the accused themselves
or they are assigned to the accused if the accused cannot afford one ( The Criminal Justice System ).
The court(s) are operated by judges, who oversee plea agreements, trails, and judges sentence the
accused ( The Criminal Justice System ). Corrections are the ones who keep an eye on the accused
while they are either in jail, prison, or on parole ( The Criminal Justice

Symbolism In The Starry Night
This artwork, the Starry Night, was drawn by a well known painter called Vincent van
Gogh in 1989. The medium of this artwork is oil in canvas. This is an expressive painting
combined with van Gogh s memories and imagination. The blue and yellow colors in the
sky possess the majority of the painting that makes people feel miserable and a glimpse of
hope in the dark at first sight .
In this painting, the lines are short which induces a vivid style. Normal people mostly
write long lines to express their feeling but the dotted line might shows that his state was
not good at that time in psychological aspect. The sky was created by a dot to dot effect
that directs the viewer´s eye around the painting, with spacing between the stars and ... Show more

It produces a mixture of two colors when they mix together by this technique that makes
the scene more harmonious. When the painting is exposed under the light, the viewer can
see the paint sticking out from the canvas in globs. In the Starry Night, the stars are
blazing and the wriggling branches of the cypress vibrate with the rhythms of nature s
divinity.
From my point of view, i like the Starry Night because this canvas can express the
feeling of van Gogh obviously. The major color of the whole painting is blue and black,
which implies that van Gogh was in a bad emotional state. The whirling clouds also imply
that he was confusing or struggling for something. On the other hand, the painting is full
of his imagination. For example, in the genuine world, the cloud is not curved and the
tree s shape is not similar to the fire. The tree is not also proportion to the normal one.
The village is mysterious and is painted with dark colors but the brightly lit windows
create a sense of comfort. The village is peaceful in comparison to the dramatic night sky
and the silence of the night can almost be felt in Starry Night. By watching this portrait,

The Importance Of Ethnicity In Schools
Teaching students about their ethnicity or even others should be enforced by the Board of Education
directors in high schools. American School Boards should mandate a curriculum that provides
multicultural and ethnic studies programs for their students. This allows our American youth to have a
wider perspective on human interaction and historical events that lead to world we currently live in.
More specifically, in American history, it provides a foundational understanding of the numerous
ethnic backgrounds that help shape this country into a pillar of freedom for the world to see. America
was built by people from all over the globe and this historical fact is the primary reason our
educational programs should include an understanding of all the cultures that played a role in its
success.
As a child I gained limited knowledge about other ethnicities, including from my own through family
and small circles of friends. Now that I m in college I m embarrassed by the fact that I know so little
about my own ethnic background as well as others. It s one matter to not know much about other
ethnic groups, but to not know about my own makes me feel like I m letting myself down. Schools are
meant to teach kids things they will need to know for in the future such as math, reading, writing,
science, and history. So, if ethnic studies teaches kids race, ethnicity, nation, gender and sexuality, isn t
that something kids will need to know more about in the future. Leaning those concepts

Chiquita In Colombia Case Summary
Case Study:
Chiquita in Colombia: Funding Paramilitary Groups to Protect Business and Employees
Presented by: Valerie Reese
Case Summary:
United Fruit Company, a company that grows bananas in Central America and exports them to North
America and Europe, became Chiquita Brands International in 1984 through a series of mergers and
control changes (Maurer, 2012, p. 485). Chiquita Brands relocated its headquarters to Cincinnati,
Ohio, and began to expand its holdings in land and shipping (Maurer, 2012, p. 485).
Chiquita Banadex planation, located in Colombia, seemed to operate as a model facility by

The company could have closed down and sold its banana plantation in Colombia, but Chiquita let the
atrocities continue for years. Perhaps Chiquita was following the analytical framework of
utilitarianism. Chiquita may have thought that making these payments to paramilitary groups was
protecting more workers than it was harming; therefore, it was the right thing to do.
Knowing that paramilitary groups had murdered Chiquita workers, one would assume continuing to
make payments to these groups would be wrong. When Chiquita continued making payments and
workers were still being massacred, one should consider stopping the payments and selling the
farmland. Perhaps Chiquita could even relocate the banana plantation and help relocate the workers to
a more secure area.
Chiquita faced legal challenges by doing business in a politically unstable foreign environment. A
lesson learned from this case is to keep up with and always abide by the laws set in the foreign
country, as well as one s own country. Following the laws and making sure one knows the laws is
good advice for any firm starting a business in a similarly volatile

The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living
The unexamined life is not worth living. (Apology, 41e) Socrates held this statement to himself to a
point where he allowed the courts to take his life because they don t want him to continue his quest of
insights, questions and knowledge. The philosophy of Socrates as explained by Plato offers an
important concept of what it means to live the examined life and what makes a life either examined or
unexamined. The combination of Euthyphro, The Apology and the Republic help understand what
Socrates means when he says that the unexamined life is not worth living, proving it what he believed,
a valid statement. What Socrates means by an unexamined life, is we are just coasting through and not
making any decisions or asking any questions. What Socrates means by living the examined life, that
it s logical when people are striving to know themselves and to understand our lives if they have any
meaning or value to them. An examined life would be trying to understand your purpose of why you
are here and what you are presently thinking. By examining your life, you therefore are understanding
yourself and will not be subject to actions motivated by passion or instinct.Socrates uses examples
defending his case about the unexamined life. That is because I am so desirous of your wisdom, and I
concentrate my mind on it, so that no word of yours may fall to the ground. (Euthyphro, 18d) Socrates
could not see a point in living if you were unable to ask questions and challenge your way

Molarity Of Hcl
This experiment is designed to demonstrate how to use volumetric tools and how to calculate the
molarity of an unknown based on the usage of these tools. Volumetric tools include burets, pipets, and
volumetric flasks and can be used to react an unknown substance with a substance of known
concentration to find the molarity of an unknown. This specific experiment sought to find the
concentration of an HCl solution by reacting it with a standard NaOH solution. An indicator was
added to show when this reaction had occurred (Beran 2012). The hypothesis predicted that the
molarity of the unknown substance would have a concentration of HCl that lied between .07M and
.09M. This was based on the prelab activity with practice calculations that had numbers ... Show more

This is most likely because the hypothesis was based on the pre lab activity, which had calculations
very similar to the predicted molarity range, though was not actually based on the experiment
performed. Additionally, the standard deviation indicates that the data is quite precise, with a deviation
of only .002. This deviation could be due to slightly inaccurate measurements, potentially caused by
instruments that were not cleaned properly or NaOH not falling into the Erlenmeyer flask when it was
being swished during titration. For example, the buret may not have been rinsed to the fullest extent,
causing minor contamination. However, small errors are inevitable in experiments and can only be
minimized.
Conclusion
This experiment appropriately exemplified how to use volumetric instruments when finding molarity
of an unknown concentration. It also showed how to calculate the molarity of one substance based on
titration recordings. Although the data had small divergence, the data recorded was still fairly precise
due to an experiment with minimal user

Examples Of Honor Culture
A Culture of Honor Throughout the United State and the world, there is a concept known as a culture
of honor. In most society, a culture of honor it is common for people to avoid offending others
intentionally and to maintain a reputation of not accepting improper conduct. This type of culture can
commonly be seen in 4 types of environments: inner cities, frontier lands, southern United States, and
conflict zones. People in these areas tend to take action for themselves since authority is either not
trusted and/or not present. A culture of honor establishes how people handle conflict and disputes on
their own without interference from legal authority. One type of environment where a culture of honor
is present is in the inner city ghettos. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can include area like the Middle East, South Asia, and other regions. In these areas, legal
authority is often not trusted and weak due to the political unrest in the region. People also take great
offense when someone disgraces their culture and/or religion. An example of this is known as honor
killings. The women of the family or community, whose average age is 23, are often the main targets
for honor killings. These killing normally result from a suspicion that one is engaging in acts that
impinge on the family s and society s conservative views. This can include partaking in relationships
outside of marriage, refusal of an arranged marriage, seeking divorce, homosexual acts, and being a
victim of rape. The victims of honor killings are often murdered in the name of family honor for
bringing shame and disgrace to the family. In many cases, these killings occur within a family unit
between father daughter, husband wife, brother sister, etc. Since they occur so regularly, most honor
killings are not classified as such, are rarely prosecuted, or when prosecuted in the Muslim world,
result in relatively light sentences (Chesler, 2010). Due to the presence of the culture of honor, many
societies in the Middle East often turn a blind eye to the murders honor killings of thousands of
women every

Radio Frequency Identification For The Cosmetics Industry
Radio Frequency Identification
Introduction
Radio Frequency Identification is not a new idea the British used a device that employs much of the
same technology (the IFF transponder) during World War II to tell their planes from those of the
Luftwaffe. (RFID 2005). This paper is a very brief review of literature about RFID and its pros and
cons with respect to the cosmetics industry.
Methodology
I input the search term RFID into a journal database and got thousands of hits that s too many to be
useful, so I added a limiter: RFID cosmetics. This came back with only a handful, which I m using in
this paper. I also input RFID pros cons and got a few more, which I ll also include. The obvious

Tracking inventory is obviously one use for RFID; it s also useful for tracking library books, and
many sources discussed this aspect of the technology. On the plus side, RFID can improve user self
check in and check out because it s much faster than bar code readers and can scan a lot of items
simultaneously (Smart 2004, p. SS4). It s also proven to be extremely helpful in finding lost books:
California State University in Long Beach found 500 lost volumes that would have cost $40,000 to
replace (Smart 2004, p. SS4). The downside here is that patrons have found ways to remove the tags,
books are disappearing (Smart 2004, p. SS4). Also, although it is thought the price of the tags and
readers, wands and equipment necessary to implement the system will come down, right now they are
very expensive and will remain so for the foreseeable future (Smart 2004, p. SS4). Smart also
authored another article that is a good resource as it lists the providers of RFID systems to libraries.
They include Bibliotheca RFID Library Systems, FlashScan and Checkpoint (Smart 2004, p. SS17).
This article is a rundown of suppliers, but it does provide prices (running into hundreds of thousands,
usually) and contact points, so it could be very helpful. In a perceptive article about library science
and RFID, Joe Moffitt says that libraries really don t do well in providing IT services; 75% of

Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles
Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started
the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles
when he returned to America in July of 1919. Basically the treaty forced on Germany the burden of
reparations, and to take complete blame for the war. Woodrow Wilson felt that the treaty was too
harsh, placing unrealistic goals on Germany. Wilson wanted to add his Fourteen Points, which was a
less harsh approach to punish Germany. Unfortunately not all the points were added to the Treaty of
Versailles, but some points were introduced into the treaty. The Treaty that President Wilson agreed on

imagined there being few assignments with the guidelines for papers and assignments being broad. I

entered the course with a adequate level of competency in writing, I significantly had my knowledge

As I said in my response, From what Lamott expresses, writing a first draft is more about the product.
(Osom 1). This is something I previously didn t take into account in my earlier writing, and the most
important lesson I learned from the Shitty First Drafts reading. Previously, I was more interested in
sending one final draft as a work for assessment, but this course allowed me to realized that ultimately
that method wasn t the most efficient. I now realize that the process of a series of draft, specifically the
first one allows me to exhaust poor ideas or overall papers structure, saving the best for last. Within
the Watch and Write: When to quote, paraphrase or summarize video, I gained new perspective on
how to efficiently provide citations for the duration of a paper. This is summarized in the response
where I explain, When sources have been identified they can be credited through three ways, quoting,

Leadership And The Leadership Styles
1. Webster s defines Leadership as the action of leading a group of people or an organization . That
definition really does the word no justice because leadership can look like a great many things to
different people, and there are equally as many ways to lead. One can lead through fear or respect, by
word or by action. Introduction: My definition of leadership and the leadership influences in my
career. I have had numerous leaders that have influenced my career and leadership style to this point.
The Chief on my first Patrol Boat was one of the biggest influences I have had in my career. I
remember how he carried himself with confidence. He empowered his people. He had the personal
power to inspire people to want to be better to not disappoint him. But at the same time was able to
hold people accountable, and have you learn from the experience. I also had a cutter CO that
illustrated for me all the qualities I promised myself I would never be. They did not treat their crew
with respect. By their level of micromanagement, they demonstrated that they did not trust their crew.
People just dreaded coming to work never knowing what the day was going to bring. Even as I strive
to ensure I am never like that leader, there are times that I stop and find myself thinking along the
same lines, and demonstrating some of the same weaknesses. I can see how they fell into the traps that
they did. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish in my career, and am happy

Prostitution in the Victorian Era Essay
Prostitution in the Victorian Era
There were many prostitutes during the Victorian era. Most were lower class women, with the
exception of the mistresses kept by upper class men. According to Victorian standards, respectable
women did not consider sexual intercourse pleasurable. It was their duty to be intimate with their
husbands. Having affairs was disgraceful (Waters). Prostitutes, on the other hand, were sexually
intimate with men because they enjoyed sex. Men enjoyed prostitutes because they could not enjoy
their wives. Victorian femininity was not defined by sexual pleasure, while Victorian masculinity was
defined by sexual pleasure and conquest. Prostitutes did not necessarily enjoy their sexual ... Show

Respectable men and women would lure young women, usually from a lower class background, away
from their homes and sell them into prostitution. Rarely did these young women go back to their
families; not because they free to go, but because the procurators and procuresses never allowed these
women a moment to be truly alone in public. These horrible men and women controlled these young
women s lives as if they were possessions. In the off chance that a young woman escaped her
bondage, she was not welcome back into her family with open arms. She was an outcast because she
was a prostitute (by society s standards). Unfortunately, there was no help for these young girls, or any
other prostitute. The people in a position to help them, like The Society for the Protection of Women
and Children, turned a blind eye towards these women. The Society for the Protection of Women and
Children only helped the privileged, not the needy (Wells 56). Prostitutes were not confined to one
way of presenting their services. There were many types of brothels that serviced men from all social
classes visited. Streetwalkers lived in Accommodation houses, which is one type of brothel (Wells 56).
These women did not pay a Madame for their room and board, but accountable to themselves. Other
prostitutes lived under the watchful eyes of their procuresses. These women lived in

The Death Of A Control Freak
As with most things in life, you do not really know what you have gotten yourself into until it is too
late. Many people do not realize that they are dating a control freak until it is too late. By the time that
they can tell that their other half is a control freak; they are in a long term, serious relationship. It
would be much easier if we could all see the warning signs of our dates being control freaks before we
commit our hear and long term happiness to them. Now you can tell the warning signs that your date
is a control freak. Sign One When you realize that it is either your date s way or the highway. All
relationships need to have a certain amount of give and take. People in relationships know that they
must compromise to make both people in their relationship truly happy. A control freak will not know
or agree that they should give up any ground on their ideas. If you choose not to go along with the
control freak that you are dating s thoughts and actions, you will usually be shown the door in the
relationship. Sign Two The person that you are dating believes in sticking to a rigid schedule in life as
well as any dates that they may go on. Some sort of schedule is ok, and gives you a plan of where your
life is going. The control freak is rigid to the point of not even wanting to discuss changing the
schedule or adding to it. There have been countless movies highlighting the heart broken woman that
is dating the man with the 5 year plan. That is how his and her

It s important that health and safety procedures are followed when using different types of equipment.
The main focus is to keep a safe and hazardless environment for you and the people around you.
2.4: Explain the purpose of following health and safety procedures when using equipment
When using certain types of office equipment there are some things which could become a problem in
terms of health and safety. For example an office will have a lot of computers. When there are a lot of
computers it is extremely important that wires are tucked away and not lying around on the floor.
Loose wires on the floor make people in the building very vulnerable to trip over and to cause an
injury.
2.5: Explain the purpose of keeping equipment clean and hygienic
The purpose of keeping equipment clean and hygienic is that the next person to use it will not have to
worry about catching or touching anything that they wouldn t want to. Offices tend to be quite closed
in environments and if one person within the building is to catch a bug and use the telephone, the next
person to also use the same phone is highly vulnerable of catching the bug also.

Just War Theory, Using The Gulf War
The following essay will present the concept of just war theory, using the Gulf War as a case study in
order to understand the concreteness of the doctrine. The choice of this case is due to the various
issues regarding the application of just war theory to modern conflict, which will be discussed in the
concluding part of the paper.
Just war tradition has its origins in the fourth century AD. The first propagandist of these ideas was St.
Augustine (AD 354 430), who elaborated a just war doctrine, which was later adapted and explicated
by St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 74). According to these writers, a war is always judged by following
two criteria, which concern the reasons states have for fighting and the means they adopt. They made
a distinction between jus ad bellum, the justice of war, and jus in bello, justice in war. REF
Jus ad bellum refers to the legitimacy of going to war. Having a just cause and possessing the right
intention are part of the conditions in favour of a just war. It is generally assumed as just cause
defending oneself from an act of aggression, which is believed unjust. However, because of its open
endedness, the term aggression should be defined. It could refer to a physical injury (a violation of
territory), an offense (against national honour), a trade embargo (against economy), or even to a
person s prosperity (violation of social justice). Thus, the general consensus considers as only
sufficient reason for just cause an initiation of physical

Running head: Computer Systems Architectures
Computer Systems Architectures
Kaplan University
Abstract
Computer architecture is a set of rules that say how software and hardware interact to create a network
or platform. In other words computer architecture is the design of the network base on the needs of the
user, the system if it is there or needs to be built, and the technology that needs to go into the project.
System design is all how all the hardware is set up while the instruction set architecture is the program
language.

A client/server architecture is an end to end systems that contains server hosts (contains the resources
and services needed by the client) and clients (users or workstations in the network). Most
client/server networks have more than one client to a server so that the system shares computing
power. There are a few different kinds of servers to include file sharing, printer services, email
services, database services, web services, and a server can used for it power. Clients can access all of
these different servers at one time and the servers can serve many clients. (Techopedia, 2014) For
large businesses with office throughout the country web based computing or cloud computing shows
the greatest benefit. In web based computing it is not the local computer doing all the work but rather
computers off site that do the work. The user s computer runs off of a cloud computing system s
interface software which uses the offsite network computers to do the work.
What OS file system should we use? I would recommend a Windows OS and file system. This is
because Windows is straight forward. There may be too many distributions of Linux, it s possible that
this is hurting Linux in the marketplace. It could be that the lack of a Linux distro from a major
computer company is also hurting it in the marketplace. (Horowitz, 2007) The type of architecture I
would use is a web based computing. This is

Comparison Of Blindness And The Maze Runner
Blindness For my reading for this trimester I chose to read Blindness. The book starts with a man
suddenly going blind at a traffic light. From there everyone who comes in contact with this man
becomes blind and then the people who become blind find that people they come in contact with also
become blind. I had several connections with this book. In this paper I will talk about my connections
with this book to other books I have read and this book to my life. Two books that this story reminded
me of were The Hunger Games series and the Maze runner series. One of the main reasons why I
thought of these books was because of the fact that they are trapped or contained in a place against
their will. A similarly between The Maze Runner and Blindness is that they have a reason why they
were put in these places in The Maze Runner they were put in the maze because of their intelligence.
In Blindness they were put in the asylum because of the fear of the blindness spreading. A second
reason is that in these stories it seems like the government or whoever was in charge was against the
people contained in these areas. In a way all the governments in these ... Show more content on

Calypso Song Analysis
The 1940 s was a time of conflict, despair, and hope to everyone who was involved in war of the
giants. World War II, as the name states was a conflict on a global scale, with a plethora of nations
involved. In addition, many of those nations created pacts of alliances with each other that only
complicated the fighting. One of the nations that was involved was the country of Trinidad and
Tobago, as a key collaborator with Allies against the Axis of Powers, it provided the area for two US
bases (The Roaring Lion). Furthermore, it provided support during the conflict of the Atlantic. During
this time the Trinidad and Tobago culture became a receiver of many different inputs, in the matters of
all aspects. These new inputs of influences forged the music culture of calypso, the voice of the people
in the form of song. Through calypso melodies, the people of Trinidad and Tobago started to tell their
views of the world events, and during this time the major event was WWII. By analyzing the lyrics of
the Trinidad song that was made in 1943, it can be determined what the current events were at the time
and the political opinions of the native people, which was the changing view on the soviet forces of in
the war.
The lyrics of this calypso song talk about the successful war campaigning of Russia, and as the result
of its movement how the view on the country has changed. These lyrics can be translated as the
historical point in the war, as the in the year 1943 the Russian forces

The Political System Of America
The political system in this country is heavily influenced by special interests that undermine what is
beneficial to society. When the corporate agenda meets politics, profit takes priority. There is a mutual
desire between politicians and businesses to maintain power. Getting re elected and achieving donor s
goals just like a company does for its share holders. The governments job is to protect the rights of
those with different interests, not to give rights to an entity, making it equal to people. There is a
conflict of interest between the profit driven corporate world and the public welfare. Politicians are
frequently offered financial benefits for favors, large donations influence decision making. Those
relationships are really unhealthy to the political process and the power of the people.
When money controls politics, all anyone would have to do is control the money. The founding fathers
had a fear of central banks due to the history of banks devaluing currency by inflation and deflation.
Thomas Jefferson feared the power that central bank could gain, and claimed it was unconstitutional.
Jim Marrs, a political researcher, reminds us of Jefferson s feelings, To take a single step beyond the
boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless
field of power ... banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies (Marrs, The
Trillion dollar Conspiracy, 61).1 They knew a central bank is against the interest

Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro Poem
Artist Joe Stephenson created Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro mural located on 2nd Street and Gold,
Downtown Albuquerque, in August of 1994 to convey the lesson we are forever frozen in time without
the knowledge of our past. Together we can achieve greatness in our future with the guidance of the
past. It s a sad thing when a culture, or tradition is forgotten and lost in time. This mural is showing us
how important it is to preserve New Mexican history, culture, and traditions for generations to come
and the negative impact it can lead to if we fail to do so. Stephenson, Joe. Sin Un Pasado, No Hay
Futuro. 1994, Downtown, Albuquerque
The colors in this mural reflect many different emotions. They may be Stephenson s feelings towards
the subject or our own. Beige neutral colors deliver a calm and relaxing feel. The red on the trains and
the rooftop, give out an energetic, powerful impression. The vibrant color of turquoise symbolizes
friendship and peace. The orange and yellow sunrise give out warmth and joy that spreads into a pink
hue of harmony, symbolizing a bright new day, and a bright new future. All these colors Stephenson
used represent simpler times of the southwest before the chaotic takeover of the Atchison, Topeka, and
Santa Fe Railway also known as AT SF.
According to Kansas Historical Society, the AT SF Railway chartered in February of 1859. At its
largest, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway would own well over 13,000 miles, and the routes
which made up its system would become some of the most heavily and strategically used throughout
the West that remains so to this day ( New Mexico Museum of Art).
The Prensa de Albuquerque newspaper headline portion of the mural is dated Feb 1970 stating
MORONIC OFFICIALS DESTROY HISTORIC LANDMARKS... Old Albuquerque High School
Next on Hit List! bring out strong feelings of outrage, and resentment along with the advertisement
The Best in The West selling land through Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe. The ad is trying to lure non
native potential buyers traveling on the AT SF Railway. Stephenson is trying to give us a history
lesson, the text With No Past; We Have No Future! telling us that we need to preserve our New
Mexico history and culture.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Infectious Diseases
Infectious diseases are the result of a failed relationship between the parasite and the host. It s the
outline of the vectors of both agents and ranges in harshness from human rabies to the common cold.
The improvements of vaccines, medicines, public services, and improved nutrition have helped
decrease the amount of infectious diseases that causes death in our world. The advance in therapeutics
and consequent alteration of the host defense mechanisms have had a huge increase on the incidence

exception is certain intrauterine transmitted infections. The initial barrier is the skin, respiratory tract,

The Importance Of Self-Assessment In Mathematics
The results of this study have important implications for teachers. They suggest the need for
mathematics teachers to provide middle school students with relevant self assessment skills effective
for mathematics learning. The results also suggest that both low and average achievers can benefit
from the self assessment instruction and as such both achievers can explore the skills in self
assessment to enhance their mathematics achievement. Teachers of mathematics should therefore be
equipped with self assessment approach in teaching low and average mathematics achieving students.
This will help the students who have difficulties in some areas of mathematics to acquire the necessary
skills needed for successful learning of mathematics. Although self assessment increased mathematics
achievement of low and average mathematics achievers, self assessment had no effect on mathematics
achievement of high achievers. This result indicates the need for more evidence on the effect of self
assessment on mathematics achievement of high achievers and conditions lead to positive effects.
Second, the present research confirms that students subsequent learning goals to correct
misunderstandings and to extend learning is important to students success in math. This suggest that
mathematics teachers need to give students frequent opportunities to set personal goals based on their
difficulties. However, it is not enough that the teacher asks students to set goals, but there should be a

William Shakespeare s Macbeth
One of the most astounding themes William Shakespeare incorporates in his widely prominent story
of, Macbeth, is the utterly sheer shift in Macbeth s personality throughout the piece. It is commonly
debated that the rapidly altering deposition of Macbeth had since served as the underlying facets and
influences behind his ultimate collapse. However, Arthur Kirsch, Writer of Macbeth s Suicide, insists
that perhaps Macbeth did not develop a sense of insanity, but he was murdering out of confidence in
his future. On the other hand, In Miguel Bernad Article, The Five Tragedies in Macbeth , Bernard
describes that Macbeth s ever changing deposition and lust for bloodshed was linked to this downfall.

The Five Tragedies in Macbeth, the author asserts that Macbeth was prompted by inner ambitions and
external urgings he murders the king and assumes the crown... Since to be thus is nothing but to be
safely thus , he plunges into an orgy of crime which eventually loses him his queen, his crown and his
life. (Bernad 1) This quote best supports the common ideology that Macbeth s overbearing ambition
ultimately resulted in his emerging insanity. This inadequate everlasting sense of eagerness bestowed
Macbeth with additional complications. For example, because of Macbeth s driving impulse to
successfully become king, he developed the urge to achieve his goals by any means possible. Bernad
believes that In desperation, Macbeth seeks solace in blood. But it brings him no peace. (Bernad 51).

The player has now compressed the spring in the ball shooter. The ball sitting in the ball shooter is at
rest. It will be at rest until acted on by an unbalanced force. This is Newton s first law of motion, the
law of inertia (Kirkpatrick and Wheeler p31). The ball shooter is then released the spring
decompresses and strikes the ball sending it up the incline to the top of the pinball playing field. The
strike on the ball is called the impulse. The time interval it takes for the ball momentum to change.
Since the ball has no momentum because it has zero velocity the ball shooter transfers its momentum
at the impulse (The Ball Shooter 2003). This also takes place in the time frame of about a second.
The ball now has kinetic energy. Kinetic energy like momentum in that it comes from the mass of the
object and its velocity. Kinetic energy was transferred from the plunger to the ball just like momentum
was but only if the collision was elastic. During and elastic collision kinetic energy is conserved. The
balls kinetic energy is half of its momentum squared. This means the balls momentum is its mass
multiplied by velocity, and then it is squared and divided by two. If the velocity or speed of the ball is
reduced by one half then the overall kinetic energy is reduced by a factor of four (Kirkpatrick and
Wheeler p.106)
The ball uses this kinetic energy to move up the usually 6 to 7 degree incline to the top of the playing
field. The kinetic

Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu
Alfredo Camacho
Dr. Fontes
CLAS 5
3 October 2017
Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and also
combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the
expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The
pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the
nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any
kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective
of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that
on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been
involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful
form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers
began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long
stories are made in effort to express a personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are
turning into, however some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the
oppressing forces. A poem is much shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can be
placed into a Chicano novel, but the effect of

Pros And Cons Of Drug Testing In Schools
Imagine if your child or you walked into school and was randomly tested for drug residue. You or
your child did nothing wrong and they have no evidence that he or she was taking drugs. How would
you feel about that? Would you be alright with that? This is brought up because this topic of being
drug tested in schools randomly is being argued about quite often. Drug tests should not be mandatory
for students because they violate students rights, are very costly, and are not an effective way of
getting rid of drug use in schools. Firstly, drug tests should not be required for students because they
violate students rights. Drug tests sometimes increase feelings of paranoia and guilt, which is not
right. The athletes have not done anything wrong, yet the school treats them like they have with these
drug tests. A boy was trying out for a sport and in order to be able to play, he had to take a drug test.
His father was very against it, as well as his son. York considered it a violation of his son s privacy
and thought it sent the message that his son was guilty until proven innocent (McLure). In the
American court system we follow the rule of Innocent until proven guilty . The drug tests are going
against the traditional American court system that our Founding Fathers created in the early years of
our country. They fought for our country and some died. They took the job of setting up guidelines for
our government and country, which most likely was not easy. The most we can

Computer Programming And Software Design Essay
INTRODUCTION
An important, underrated and often overlooked tool for Computer Supported Collaborative Work,
henceforth abbreviated CSCW, is the revision control system or version control system, henceforth
abbreviated as RCS, or VCS, respectively. There are a plethora of RCS and VCS available from which
to choose. Within the field of computer programming and software design, the use of RCS or VCS is a
vital best practice, especially in development environments with many programmers, developers,
engineers, administrators, and managers. However, RCS or VCS can and should be used wherever
there are larger groups of CSCW regardless of the domain. Henceforth, RCS and VCS shall be
referred to as any generic revision or version control system, abbreviated as RVCS. The significance
of evaluating various RVCS becomes apparent by demonstrating and illustrating their importance.
Such evaluation is then used to produce or derive guidelines that streamline the selection of the RVCS
for a particular CSCW group.
WHAT EXACTLY IS RVCS?
One way to begin operationally defining RVCS is with the simple concept of artifacts and deliverables
produced, created, developed or engineered by the CSCW group. The sharing of such artifacts is
essential in the operations of the CSCW group (Schmidt, et. al., 2015). Typically, such modern day
artifacts or deliverables consist of documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, reports,
presentations, and other multimedia. In the domain of computer

Literary Analysis Of Woman In A Purple Coat
For this analysis, I will be using Woman In A Purple Coat by Henri Matisse (1937), oil on canvas.
1937 was a turbulent year globally. From the Hindenburg blimp exploding, to the Japanese invasion of
China, and the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. Many events happened that year that would forever
alter the course of history. Henri Matisse, an eclectic soul, would make his mark upon 1937 as well
with Woman In A Purple Coat. This piece would cause all who came before and after him to rethink
how they would make their legacy, as Matisse moved the bar to previously unobtainable heights
through this work. The first thing you notice in Matisse s painting is the purple coat that Lydia
Delectorskaya, his lover of many years, is wearing. This coat, an exotic Moroccan costume, with its
bold and vivid color, jumps right out at its viewers. While Lydia reclines for her pose, the vase of
flowers and fruit on the table in the foreground become apparent to the audience. As do the bold
shapes and patterns that are on the walls, with their incredibly bright colors, outlined with thick lines.
The lines Matisse used creates a certain symmetry within the frame. His perspective lines give order
and dimension to an otherwise visually busy art work. Henri used bold, thick lines to create definition,
even using the back end of the brush to scrape away paint to leave exposed canvas to create his
effects. Matisse was a pioneer within his profession. He was often criticized for his lack of

Interpersonal Communication Essay
Interpersonal communication is the technique we use to communicate our ideas, thoughts and feelings
to one and other. (Eunson 2012:256) People use visual, written, oral, sense and nonverbal means to
communicate. Individuals have communicated with each other for centuries through the medium of
letters, telephone, groups with public speaking and one to one conversations. With the introduction of
mass media ideas could spread to larger audiences however the means of imparting information
required high level skills and equipment not available to the individual. The highly effective tools of
the mass media have now become the tools of the individual to use in the digital age to help with
interpersonal communication. Electronic communication has ... Show more content on

The internet enables communication in two ways with instant feedback, whilst the broadcast and print
media is only one and feedback is limited. The effective tools of broadcast media have now become
the tools for interpersonal communication. With the population growing and our network expanding
rapidly throughout the world, electronic communication has benefited people immensely. It gives
them the privilege to share and connect globally with anyone, like distance family members, friends
and work colleagues through various social networking websites such as Twitter, Flickr, Google+ and
Facebook. An interpersonal communication technique such as visual communication is used regularly
in these websites. Being able to see your social group s latest photos and video which are updated
daily, lets you feel more connected to people you don t see in person often. (Sless 1987:187) Another
form of visual communication is through visual aids to convey ideas and information in ways that can
be read orlooked upon. It includes signs, typography, drawings, graphic design and electronic
resources. It aims to communicate through personal perspective. If the viewer has an opinion about an
image purely based on their personal thoughts they respond differently in their thoughts and values as
someone else might. (Smith 2005:12) Electronic communication is commonly used in business
meetings. Using various modes as power points, videos, photos and animation,

  • 2. Solving the Foreclosure Crisis Essay example I notice that a lot of American politics is about ending major crisis at home and worldwide. Unfortunately the politicians seem to go off course or side tracked on their particular platform or their states agenda. A major dilemma that needs to be addressed in American politics is the current foreclosure rate in the housing market. The issue needs to be addressed because our entire financial stability seems to be balanced on the housing market. When the housing market crashed subsequently the stock market crashed soon after it. As a result of both the real estate and the stock market crash the banks opted out to tighten up their belts by increasing the criteria to apply for credit and loans. The definition from Wikipedia states a housing bubble is characterized by rapid increases in the valuations of real property such as housing until unsustainable levels are reached relative to incomes, price to rent ratios, and other economic indicators of affordability. The market correction also affects major markets including (but not limited to) the retail markets. For the last five years the sales projection for all areas of the retail market has drastically declined and still no one has been able to make their quotas despite the numerous stimulus attempts from the government. The housing market correction further the pain on the working class American because the retail companies has started to pressure their employees to make impossible sales to keep the companies afloat. These employees are the same working class Americans who experiencing the money crunch and are barely able to pay their bills and/or invoices of past due on their homes. Unfortunately after months of not meeting sales projections retail companies had to scale back their losses by either making salary cuts or reducing the number of employees. This is because of global warming or what scientists refer to climate change. The issue with global warming is that it has impactions for damage to future generations. Prevention of a global climate change depends on early detection of human made effects on climate. The current views on global warming are; those who do not think that the Earth is undergoing a climate change, others that believe the Earth is going through a climate change due to humans, and some who believe that Earth is going through a climate change but is not because of human activities. The speed in which temperature has increased over the last few decades is alarming compared to the rate over the last century. Global surface temperature has increased 0.6 degrees Celsius in the past thirty years, and 0.8 in the last century (Hansen 14288). The significant increase can be directly related to the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. For the last 650,000 years, atmospheric CO2 has never been above 300 parts per million (Hansen 14288). In 1950 CO2 parts per million were at 280, today they are at 380. Direct observations indicate that CO2 is rising sharply due to human activity (Cook). The main source of CO2 emissions is the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas in power plants, automobiles, and industrial facilities (United States Environmental Protection Agency). It is most evident in the addition of automobiles on the road today. Motor vehicles have been rising by 3.69 million each year since 1960. Currently there are over 255 million registered passenger vehicles on the road today (U.S Department Of Transportation). Forensic Science Vs Criminal Justice Essay When a college student must decide what he/she wants to do for a career, this can be the most difficult decision the student will ever have to make about his/her life, because it is forever. The student has now decided that is down to two choices: forensic science or criminal justice. Forensic science is the application of sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and engineering to matters of law. In both state and federal criminal justice systems, there are five different components that make up the criminal justice process, law enforcement, prosecution, defense attorneys, courts, and corrections ( The Criminal Justice System ). This is an expressive painting combined with van Gogh s memories and imagination. The blue and yellow colors in the sky possess the majority of the painting that makes people feel miserable and a glimpse of hope in the dark at first sight . In this painting, the lines are short which induces a vivid style. Normal people mostly write long lines to express their feeling but the dotted line might shows that his state was not good at that time in psychological aspect. In the Starry Night, the stars are blazing and the wriggling branches of the cypress vibrate with the rhythms of nature s divinity. From my point of view, i like the Starry Night because this canvas can express the feeling of van Gogh obviously. The major color of the whole painting is blue and black, which implies that van Gogh was in a bad emotional state. The whirling clouds also imply that he was confusing or struggling for something. On the other hand, the painting is full of his imagination. For example, in the genuine world, the cloud is not curved and the tree s shape is not similar to the fire. The tree is not also proportion to the normal one.

American School Boards should mandate a curriculum that provides multicultural and ethnic studies programs for their students. This allows our American youth to have a wider perspective on human interaction and historical events that lead to world we currently live in. More specifically, in American history, it provides a foundational understanding of the numerous ethnic backgrounds that help shape this country into a pillar of freedom for the world to see. America was built by people from all over the globe and this historical fact is the primary reason our educational programs should include an understanding of all the cultures that played a role in its success. As a child I gained limited knowledge about other ethnicities, including from my own through family and small circles of friends. Now that I m in college I m embarrassed by the fact that I know so little about my own ethnic background as well as others. It s one matter to not know much about other ethnic groups, but to not know about my own makes me feel like I m letting myself down. Schools are meant to teach kids things they will need to know for in the future such as math, reading, writing, science, and history. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The company could have closed down and sold its banana plantation in Colombia, but Chiquita let the atrocities continue for years. Perhaps Chiquita was following the analytical framework of utilitarianism. Chiquita may have thought that making these payments to paramilitary groups was protecting more workers than it was harming; therefore, it was the right thing to do. Knowing that paramilitary groups had murdered Chiquita workers, one would assume continuing to make payments to these groups would be wrong. When Chiquita continued making payments and workers were still being massacred, one should consider stopping the payments and selling the farmland. Perhaps Chiquita could even relocate the banana plantation and help relocate the workers to a more secure area. Chiquita faced legal challenges by doing business in a politically unstable foreign environment. (Apology, 41e) Socrates held this statement to himself to a point where he allowed the courts to take his life because they don t want him to continue his quest of insights, questions and knowledge. The philosophy of Socrates as explained by Plato offers an important concept of what it means to live the examined life and what makes a life either examined or unexamined. The combination of Euthyphro, The Apology and the Republic help understand what Socrates means when he says that the unexamined life is not worth living, proving it what he believed, a valid statement. What Socrates means by an unexamined life, is we are just coasting through and not making any decisions or asking any questions. What Socrates means by living the examined life, that it s logical when people are striving to know themselves and to understand our lives if they have any meaning or value to them. An examined life would be trying to understand your purpose of why you are here and what you are presently thinking. By examining your life, you therefore are understanding yourself and will not be subject to actions motivated by passion or instinct.Socrates uses examples defending his case about the unexamined life. That is because I am so desirous of your wisdom, and I concentrate my mind on it, so that no word of yours may fall to the ground. Volumetric tools include burets, pipets, and volumetric flasks and can be used to react an unknown substance with a substance of known concentration to find the molarity of an unknown. This specific experiment sought to find the concentration of an HCl solution by reacting it with a standard NaOH solution. An indicator was added to show when this reaction had occurred (Beran 2012). Additionally, the standard deviation indicates that the data is quite precise, with a deviation of only .002. This deviation could be due to slightly inaccurate measurements, potentially caused by instruments that were not cleaned properly or NaOH not falling into the Erlenmeyer flask when it was being swished during titration. For example, the buret may not have been rinsed to the fullest extent, causing minor contamination. However, small errors are inevitable in experiments and can only be minimized. It s also proven to be extremely helpful in finding lost books: California State University in Long Beach found 500 lost volumes that would have cost $40,000 to replace (Smart 2004, p. SS4). The downside here is that patrons have found ways to remove the tags, books are disappearing (Smart 2004, p. SS4). • 25. Just War Theory, Using The Gulf War The following essay will present the concept of just war theory, using the Gulf War as a case study in order to understand the concreteness of the doctrine. The choice of this case is due to the various issues regarding the application of just war theory to modern conflict, which will be discussed in the concluding part of the paper. Just war tradition has its origins in the fourth century AD. The first propagandist of these ideas was St. Augustine (AD 354 430), who elaborated a just war doctrine, which was later adapted and explicated by St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 74). According to these writers, a war is always judged by following two criteria, which concern the reasons states have for fighting and the means they adopt. They made a distinction between jus ad bellum, the justice of war, and jus in bello, justice in war. REF Jus ad bellum refers to the legitimacy of going to war. Having a just cause and possessing the right intention are part of the conditions in favour of a just war. It is generally assumed as just cause defending oneself from an act of aggression, which is believed unjust. However, because of its open endedness, the term aggression should be defined. It could refer to a physical injury (a violation of territory), an offense (against national honour), a trade embargo (against economy), or even to a person s prosperity (violation of social justice). Thus, the general consensus considers as only sufficient reason for just cause an initiation of physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The user s computer runs off of a cloud computing system s interface software which uses the offsite network computers to do the work. What OS file system should we use? I would recommend a Windows OS and file system. This is because Windows is straight forward. There may be too many distributions of Linux, it s possible that this is hurting Linux in the marketplace. It could be that the lack of a Linux distro from a major computer company is also hurting it in the marketplace. (Horowitz, 2007) The type of architecture I would use is a web based computing. From there everyone who comes in contact with this man becomes blind and then the people who become blind find that people they come in contact with also become blind. I had several connections with this book. In this paper I will talk about my connections with this book to other books I have read and this book to my life. Two books that this story reminded me of were The Hunger Games series and the Maze runner series. One of the main reasons why I thought of these books was because of the fact that they are trapped or contained in a place against their will. A similarly between The Maze Runner and Blindness is that they have a reason why they were put in these places in The Maze Runner they were put in the maze because of their intelligence. In Blindness they were put in the asylum because of the fear of the blindness spreading. A second reason is that in these stories it seems like the government or whoever was in charge was against the people contained in these areas. In a way all the governments in these ... World War II, as the name states was a conflict on a global scale, with a plethora of nations involved. In addition, many of those nations created pacts of alliances with each other that only complicated the fighting. One of the nations that was involved was the country of Trinidad and Tobago, as a key collaborator with Allies against the Axis of Powers, it provided the area for two US bases (The Roaring Lion). Furthermore, it provided support during the conflict of the Atlantic. During this time the Trinidad and Tobago culture became a receiver of many different inputs, in the matters of all aspects. These new inputs of influences forged the music culture of calypso, the voice of the people in the form of song. Through calypso melodies, the people of Trinidad and Tobago started to tell their views of the world events, and during this time the major event was WWII. • 30. The Political System Of America The political system in this country is heavily influenced by special interests that undermine what is beneficial to society. When the corporate agenda meets politics, profit takes priority. There is a mutual desire between politicians and businesses to maintain power. Getting re elected and achieving donor s goals just like a company does for its share holders. The governments job is to protect the rights of those with different interests, not to give rights to an entity, making it equal to people. There is a conflict of interest between the profit driven corporate world and the public welfare. Politicians are frequently offered financial benefits for favors, large donations influence decision making. Those relationships are really unhealthy to the political process and the power of the people. When money controls politics, all anyone would have to do is control the money. The founding fathers had a fear of central banks due to the history of banks devaluing currency by inflation and deflation. Thomas Jefferson feared the power that central bank could gain, and claimed it was unconstitutional. Jim Marrs, a political researcher, reminds us of Jefferson s feelings, To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power ... banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies (Marrs, The Trillion dollar Conspiracy, 61).1 They knew a central bank is against the interest ... They suggest the need for mathematics teachers to provide middle school students with relevant self assessment skills effective for mathematics learning. The results also suggest that both low and average achievers can benefit from the self assessment instruction and as such both achievers can explore the skills in self assessment to enhance their mathematics achievement. Teachers of mathematics should therefore be equipped with self assessment approach in teaching low and average mathematics achieving students. This will help the students who have difficulties in some areas of mathematics to acquire the necessary skills needed for successful learning of mathematics. Although self assessment increased mathematics achievement of low and average mathematics achievers, self assessment had no effect on mathematics achievement of high achievers. This result indicates the need for more evidence on the effect of self assessment on mathematics achievement of high achievers and conditions lead to positive effects. Second, the present research confirms that students subsequent learning goals to correct misunderstandings and to extend learning is important to students success in math. This alone requires many fundamental aspects of physics. The player inserts the coin and lets gravity take over. The ball shooter is then released the spring decompresses and strikes the ball sending it up the incline to the top of the pinball playing field. The strike on the ball is called the impulse. The time interval it takes for the ball momentum to change. Since the ball has no momentum because it has zero velocity the ball shooter transfers its momentum at the impulse (The Ball Shooter 2003). This also takes place in the time frame of about a second. The ball now has kinetic energy. Kinetic energy like momentum in that it comes from the mass of the object and its velocity. Kinetic energy was transferred from the plunger to the ball just like momentum was but only if the collision was elastic. During and elastic collision kinetic energy is conserved. The balls kinetic energy is half of its momentum squared. This means the balls momentum is its mass multiplied by velocity, and then it is squared and divided by two. If the velocity or speed of the ball is reduced by one half then the overall kinetic energy is reduced by a factor of four (Kirkpatrick and Wheeler p.106) The ball uses this kinetic energy to move up the usually 6 to 7 degree incline to the top of the playing field. These writers can relate to the expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that on others. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. There are a plethora of RCS and VCS available from which to choose. Within the field of computer programming and software design, the use of RCS or VCS is a vital best practice, especially in development environments with many programmers, developers, engineers, administrators, and managers. However, RCS or VCS can and should be used wherever there are larger groups of CSCW regardless of the domain. The significance of evaluating various RVCS becomes apparent by demonstrating and illustrating their importance. Such evaluation is then used to produce or derive guidelines that streamline the selection of the RVCS for a particular CSCW group. WHAT EXACTLY IS RVCS? One way to begin operationally defining RVCS is with the simple concept of artifacts and deliverables produced, created, developed or engineered by the CSCW group. Henri Matisse, an eclectic soul, would make his mark upon 1937 as well with Woman In A Purple Coat. This piece would cause all who came before and after him to rethink how they would make their legacy, as Matisse moved the bar to previously unobtainable heights through this work. The first thing you notice in Matisse s painting is the purple coat that Lydia Delectorskaya, his lover of many years, is wearing.
