2. Problem Statement:
Our software deals with people searching for parking spaces in random or new areas. Users can search for
parking areas but if there are cars already parked the user has to know if the parking spot is available or
not.
We want to keep track of how many cars are parked inside a parking garage by employing ultrasonic
sensors. As a result, when a car enters a parking garage and then a parking spot, a ping ultrasonic sensor
will be able to identify whether or not the car is parked in the space. This data would then be broadcast to
the network to keep it up to date.
The solution to the problem is to create a smart parking lot. This means that the user, in this case the
driver, will need to be given information about where there are open spots in the lot so that they can
quickly navigate to those spaces. We need a way to sense where there are open spots, and then display
that information to the user.
