This document discusses several examples of positive deviance, which is defined as participating in an activity that is viewed negatively by society but is done for positive reasons. Some examples provided include the Revolutionary War, which the British viewed negatively but was done by Americans to gain freedom; a parent stealing to feed their children, though stealing is deviant but done for a positive reason; and teens using drugs and alcohol to gain acceptance from peers, though substance use is harmful. In conclusion, there are many types of positive deviance, both good and bad, and what is considered deviant is determined by societal norms.
