What is Green
Engine
Technology ?
✔ Green engine is one of the most interesting invention for the
automotive industry..
✔ The efficiency of this engine is high as compared to the
contemporary engines and also the exhaust emissions are nearly
zero..
✔ The significance of the engine lies in the efficiency when the
present world conditions of limited resources of energy are
considered..
NEED TO INVENT
 Today world is facing major problem due to energy crises.
 Along with this we are facing major environmental troubles
due to increase in harmful gases which are evolved from no
where else but the combustion of the conventional energy
sources.
 Major portions of the fuels is burnt in the
engines used for various purposes like
automobiles, generators, power plants etc.,.
 Statistics show that the daily consumption
of petroleum all over the world today is
40 million barrels , of which 50 percent
is for automobile use.

Features Of Green Engine
The Green Engine is an actual six phase internal
combustion engine.
There are no pistons in this .
The essential feature is the expansion ratio
being much bigger than the compression ratio.
Construction
A Set of Vanes A pair of rotors
No. of pot like
containers
Air intake ports
A pair of fuel
injectors
Spark plugs
Six Phases of Green Engine
Power
Exhaust
Combustion
Mixing
Compression
Intake
Working
 The air arrives through the air intake
port and passes through the duct that
generate strong swirls when it gets
compressed in the chamber.
 The air from the duct is pushed into
small chambers in rotor, the rotating
places the compressed air before the
injector.
 As soon as chamber comes in front of
injector it sprays the fuel into the
compressed air .
This air fuel mixture is sent to other end
of rotor.
 The spark plug ignites the air fuel
mixture. As soon as the whole charge is
ignited ,the small chamber rotates to
position in front of narrow exit.
 As the gas rushes out of the chamber
through narrow opening, the sudden
increase in volume ensures that
more power is released.
 As the thermal energy is fully utilized,
the exhaust gasses bring less heat
energy.
Because of the complete burning,
poisonous gases are absent.
Comparison Between Conventional Engine And
Green Engine
 Direct air intake
 Direct fuel injection
 Strong swirling
 High Expansion Ratio
 Sequentially Variable Compression Ratio
 Super air fuel mixture
 Controllable Combustion Time
 Lowest surface to volume ratio
 High Working Temperature
ADVANTAGES
Small size and light weight
Multi fuel
Near zero emission
Smooth operation
Vibration free
Ideal to hydrogen fuel
Quietness and low
exhaust temperature
Fast accelerating
response
Low cost
High reliability
APPLICATIONS
IN AUTOMOBILES
IN AIRCRAFTS
MILITARY USE
SHIPS AND SUBMARINES
Green Steam Engine
Green engine in airplanes
AUDI’S A4 Green Engine Car
Kawasaki's Green Engine
CONCLUSIONS
Pollution is minimized by green engine.
 It has unique design
The limitations have not been determined to any extent
Green engine can work with large variety of fuels which
makes it good choice for using non conventional fuels like
biodiesel.
It’s a new revolutionary engine technology.
