What is green engine?
Green engine is the internal combustion engine
with some or major modification in its part and
design.
The green engine is one of the most interesting
discoveries of the new millennium.
The efficiency of this engine is high when
compared with the contemporary engines and
also the exhaust emission are near zero.
The significance of the engine lies in the
efficiency when the present world conditions of
limited resources of energy are considered.
NEED TO INVENT
Environmental troubles
Major portion of fuels is burnt in the
engines used for various purposes
Statistics of petroleum used
Energy crisis
Construction
1. A pair of rotors –it houses a number
of small pot like containers
2. A set of vanes
3. Two air intake ports
4. Two spark plugs
5. Two fuel injectors
Working of green engine
(1)Intake (2)compression (3)Mixing
(4)Combustion (5)Power (6)Exhaust
TECHNICAL FEATURS
 Direct Air intake
 Strong swirling
 Sequential variable compression Ratio
 Direct fuel injection
 Super air fuel mixing
 Lowest surface to volume Ratio
 Controllable combustion time
 Constant volume combustion
 Multi power pulse
 High working temperature
 High expansion ratio
 Self adapting sealing system
 Vibration free
 Limited parts and small size
Comparison with conventional engine
• Low emission.
• Low noise.
• Low vibration.
• Volumetric efficiency high.
• Heat lose in exhaust gas is less.
• Fuel feasibility less.
• Torque and work output high.
Advantages of green engine
 Small size and light
weight
 Limited parts
 High efficiency
 Multi- fuels
 Near zero emission
 Smooth operation
 Ideal to Hydrogen Fuel
 Highly Reliable.
 Low Cost.
 Fast Accelerating
Response
 Quietness and Low
Exhaust Temperature
Disadvantages
• (a) They have less power and slower
acceleration
• (b) They are more expensive to maintain
• (c) The parts that need repairs are more
Applications
• Like normal engine green engine can be employed
in aircrafts.
• Engineering applications.
• Military use.
• Mines.
• Electrical Generators
• Ships and submarines
AUDY A4’S CAR GREEN ENGINE
KAWASAKI’S GREEN ENGINE
Conclusion
Pollution is minimized by green engine.
 it’s a new revolutionary engine technology.
It has unique design.
The limitations have not been determined to any
extent.
The Green engine is serve the purpose to a large
extent
