GREEN BUILDING MATERIAL
Manufactured wood products - including plywood, oriented-strand board (OSB),
laminated-strand lumber, particleboard, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF) -
have the environmental advantage of being made from small-diameter or other
low-quality trees or waste from wood-processing operations, conserving higher-
quality timber. With these products, the wood is peeled into thin veneers, chipped
into small strands or flakes, or ground into wood flour; in each case, the pieces are
then glued to produce a durable and stable panel or lumber product.
Conventional adhesives for wood composites are based on three major synthetic
thermosetting resins: phenol formaldehyde (PF), urea formaldehyde (UF) &
melamine-formaldehyde (MF)
But as known, Formaldehyde has been categorized as a carcinogenic and toxic
material, with acute oral toxicity . Therefore, there has been a growing interest in
the development of environmentally friendly wood adhesives from renewable
resources. Various biomass resources such as lignin, starch and vegetable oils...
have been used as a renewable feedstock to synthesize natural-based adhesives.
Miviko Isotech was invented new generation of bio-based binder named
“GREENSAVE Binder” & starting industrial manufacturing.
