Frida Kahlo de Rivera was a Mexican artist best known
for her self-portraits. Her paintings are strongly
influenced by Mexican folk culture, and use lots of
bright colours and dramatic symbolism.
She was born in July 6, 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico.
She created one hundred and forty three paintings, and
of these, fifty-five are self-portraits.

2. Salvador Dalí
Salvador Dali was a surrealist artist which made
paintings, sculptures and films about the dreams he
had.
He was famous
Salvador Dali was born in Figueres, Spain
on May 11, 1904.
for his long curly
He painted melting clocks and floating
eyes, clouds that look like faces and
rocks that look like bodies.
Sounds weird right?

Dalí was involved with surrealism. This was an
art movement where painters made dream-like

city of Oaxaca, founding the Rufino
Tamayo Museum of Pre-Hispanic Art

Pablo Picasso
Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881. He
was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker,
ceramicist and stage designer considered one
of the greatest and most influential artists of
the 20th century.
He is famous for his role
in pioneering Cubism
with Georges Braque and
for his melancholy Blue
Period pieces.

5. Vicent Van Gogh
He was a Dutch post-impressionist
painter. His work had a great influence
on modern art because of its striking
colours and emotional power.
In total, Van Gogh made
around 2,100 artworks.
Van Gogh liked to paint the places he visited.

imagine you are there with him.

6. Michelangelo
Michelangelo Buonarotti was born in Caprese, Italy on March 6, 1475.
He was very famous because he made important
artworks such as the large statue of David and the
ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Well he was and
apparently there are over
300 poems that he wrote.
He was a man of many
talents it seems!
