This document contains solutions to several arithmetic word problems: 1) It calculates the percentage decrease of a stock price dropping from $50 to $40 as 20% 2) It determines that if x4 = 1000000, then x lies between 31 and 32 on the number line 3) It calculates that driving a car 350 miles at 33 miles per gallon with $2.95 per gallon fuel would cost approximately $30 4) It solves that if it takes Jonah 5 hours to paint a wall and Jim twice as long, together they can paint a fence in 2.5 hours 5) It uses an arithmetic progression formula to determine that a man running decreasing rounds until 11 rounds is completed a total of 270
