Quest students are identified by classroom teachers as early as third grade, when they stand out in the classroom with Quest-able behaviors, often combined with results from standardized test scores. Parents can request that their child be considered for Quest through the team teachers or by contacting me. Team teachers can recommend you for Quest based on your performance in your regular classes. When filling out the KP registration form for Learning Lab options, only students who have been formally identified for Quest should check “Quest” on the form at that time. Interested in Quest? Do you have a burning passion for a topic you would like to investigate outside of your academic classes?

Editor's Notes

  • #23 NHD – Enter your independent investigation of a historical topic in a statewide and possibly national competition. OM – A lot of fun but a big commitment. Time: Quest time, after school once a week, more as competition gets closer, several Saturdays WW – a break from our research to have some fun and use our creative thinking through games, activities, the Internet, and guest speakers.
  • #24 I really stress the “real world problem” aspect of the definition of a Type III investigation. I makes the process so much more “real” for the kids.
  • #25 As varied as the topics are, so are the product choices.
  • #26 You can afford the LL time away from your team teachers (and not in 2 large perf music groups )
