Review:
In 1995 spring Sergey Brin met Larry Page at Stanford campus,California.Brin gotPhD admission in computer
scienceat Stanford. Page had already donehis graduation fromStanford, so they gave campus introduce
responsibility to Page. Their friendship started on that day.
After winter vacation they shifted to Microsoftsponsored Williamgate computer sciencebuildingwith their
friends & faculty. From that day onwards they downloaded total world web & they started search those pages
through links. This projectthey choseas their doctoral thesis. From this links they started givingrankings. For this
work they named as “Page Ranking”.
In 1997 Page Rank showed a way to startsearch engine with the name of Black Rub. After some days they changed
their Black Rub name to Google.
Firstthey aregiven access to Stanford students, staff with the name of www.google.stanford.edu. In Stanford
society professor Alison attracted for this.Day by day users areincreasing,so they need to increasethe capacity of
their hard disk, but they don’t have their own budget to buy hard disks. So they bought cheap parts from outside
market and they made machines and they use their maximum limitof creditcards also for purchasingtheparts.
In 1998 they aregiven their licepermission to other companies. But most of the companies did not show interest
to usetheir product. So Brin & Page decided to improve more features to their search engine. Firstthey said to
their family, friends, neighbors aboutsearch engine and they ask feedback from them how to improve more. By
the end of 1998 summer they added 24 billion web page data. Day by day page count also increased.
At that time one of their professors arranged a meeting with Mr. Andy Bechtolsheim, one of the founders of sun
micro systems. They explain to Andy what they were doing and how they can earn money through their search
technology licenses.Andy was attracted with their ideas and immediately gave Rs.100000$ cheque to them.
They started their firstofficein a garage at Menlo Park. They left their study for busi ness purpose.Within 5 months
of time Google quests 50000 challenges.
In 1999 firsthalf Google started with 8 members group, they moved their officeto Palo Alto downtown. One PC
magazine announced Google is one of top 100 search engine. After that they got a client“Red Hat”. They
approached two high technology offices in San Francisco Silicon Wally.By the springof 1999 the two companies
invested 25 million dollarsin Google.
After this they started to recruitnew employees. They provided free drinks & food to their employees. They
moved their office to Californiamountain view.By the end of 1999 per Google search 7 million pageaverages.

In 2000 Google started advertisements in their websites. From these advertisements they earned more profits.
They announced more than billion pages added in Google, by these addition Googlebecame world top and fastest
search engine. They started their services through wireless devices.
In 2001 they appointed Mr. Eric Schmidt as CEO & Chairman. His main work was to recognize young talent, train
employees & maintain proper financial records.Aol announced Google is their official search engine.Within a
shortspan of time Google provided their search features to internet providers likeEarth Link. After this they got
Ask Jeeves advertisement contract.
In 2002 they started Google news, after this they started Poogle; it is a productbased search engine. By the end of
2003 Google announced 428 billion pages added in their search engine. In the sameyear they got “Brand of the
year” award.
In 2004 Google announced they are started Gmail services in April 1st.on august 19th they started tradingwith 85$
in NASDOC. on that Page went to wall street, Brin stayed in office only,by the end of that day they became multi
milliners’,Google got 1.7 Billion Dollars. This is the highest amount for technological companies.
In 2005 may 12th Google arranged a meeting with shareholders. They all got one good news - Google sharevalue
crossed 225$.In firstquarter Google got 369.3 million dollars profit.By July 4th it crossed 300$ sharevalue. In the
same year they started Google earth services, through this new services Google avail for 6.3 million people. In
Ireland,Dublin they started their offices & R&D centers in China,Mexico and Brazil. In 2006 October they bought
YouTube for 1.6 billion dollars.
By the end of 2006, Google reached crest in market Google shareis 50%next is Yahoo with 23%.
“In dictionaries also added Googlenamed as Quest”
The reason I choose this book because I was eager to know about Google after watchingthe move “The
Internship”.Now everyone knows Google is search enginebut providingdata for search engine is a passion for
Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Before 1998 they don’t have any idea how to expand this, how earn money through
search engine but after getting funds from Mr. Andy Bechtolsheim their plans, ideas everythingchanged. Step by
step they started, Google Maps, Gmail,Poogle, Google News, YouTube etc…. Now we know Google is in which
position.

Page had already donehis graduation fromStanford, so they gave campus introduce responsibility to Page. Their friendship started on that day. After winter vacation they shifted to Microsoftsponsored Williamgate computer sciencebuildingwith their friends & faculty. From that day onwards they downloaded total world web & they started search those pages through links. This projectthey choseas their doctoral thesis. From this links they started givingrankings. For this work they named as “Page Ranking”. In 1997 Page Rank showed a way to startsearch engine with the name of Black Rub. After some days they changed their Black Rub name to Google. Firstthey aregiven access to Stanford students, staff with the name of www.google.stanford.edu. In Stanford society professor Alison attracted for this.Day by day users areincreasing,so they need to increasethe capacity of their hard disk, but they don’t have their own budget to buy hard disks. So they bought cheap parts from outside market and they made machines and they use their maximum limitof creditcards also for purchasingtheparts. In 1998 they aregiven their licepermission to other companies. But most of the companies did not show interest to usetheir product. So Brin & Page decided to improve more features to their search engine. Firstthey said to their family, friends, neighbors aboutsearch engine and they ask feedback from them how to improve more. By the end of 1998 summer they added 24 billion web page data. Day by day page count also increased. At that time one of their professors arranged a meeting with Mr. Andy Bechtolsheim, one of the founders of sun micro systems. They explain to Andy what they were doing and how they can earn money through their search technology licenses.Andy was attracted with their ideas and immediately gave Rs.100000$ cheque to them. They started their firstofficein a garage at Menlo Park. They left their study for busi ness purpose.Within 5 months of time Google quests 50000 challenges. In 1999 firsthalf Google started with 8 members group, they moved their officeto Palo Alto downtown. One PC magazine announced Google is one of top 100 search engine. After that they got a client“Red Hat”. They approached two high technology offices in San Francisco Silicon Wally.By the springof 1999 the two companies invested 25 million dollarsin Google.
