Alexander Craig was a saddle harness maker and shoemaker born around 1717 who owned slaves and had a wife and eight children. He had relationships with his daughter's husband John Minson Galt, who was a sergeant and business owner, and with John Rollinson and Elkanah Deane. Though initially undecided, Craig seemed to support the patriot side more due to England manufacturing and taxing goods that hurt his business and made it harder to support his family.
