Good Books To Write Essays On
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Good Books To Write Essays On" may seem like a
straightforward task at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of this topic reveals a
complexity that requires careful consideration and thoughtful analysis. The difficulty arises from
the subjective nature of what constitutes a "good" book, as literary preferences vary widely
among individuals.
Firstly, one must grapple with the challenge of defining the criteria for a "good" book. Is it based
on literary merit, cultural significance, popularity, or a combination of these factors? The diverse
perspectives on what makes a book worthy of exploration add layers of complexity to the
writing process.
Additionally, the vastness of the literary landscape poses a daunting task. The sheer number of
genres, authors, and time periods means that narrowing down the focus becomes a crucial step.
Selecting a diverse range of books that resonate with different audiences while maintaining a
cohesive thread in the essay requires careful thought and research.
Moreover, the need for a comprehensive understanding of each chosen book is paramount.
Reading, analyzing, and synthesizing information from various sources demands time and
dedication. It is not merely a matter of summarizing plotlines but delving into the underlying
themes, character development, and the broader context in which the books were written.
Furthermore, the essay must strike a balance between providing insightful analysis and engaging
the reader. Crafting a compelling narrative that flows seamlessly from one book to another while
maintaining a coherent argument is no small feat. It involves honing one's writing skills to
articulate thoughts coherently and persuasively.

The Key Component Of Computer Systems
Memory has been the key component of computer systems right from the
beginning. The convergence of consumer, communication, and data processing
applications combined with the rapid growth of cloud computing services have
led to an explosive growth in memory requirement (Baldi et al., 2014; Abaker et al.,
2015). At present, DRAM and NAND flash memories together make up 89% of
the memory market (Baldi et al., 2014). The success of DRAM and flash has been
essentially attributed to their small cell size and scalability. To meet the ever
growing demand for modern multi core systems to process data at higher rates,
there exist serious challenges that shall limit the dominance of DRAM and flash
memories. The unavailability of cost effective scalable lithography for sub 20nm
feature size is one of the factors affecting further evolution of such memories (ITRS,
2013). These challenges have spurred great interest in alternative technologies to
shape the landscape of future memory systems. Among the competing contenders,
phase change memory (PCM) has emerged as one of the most promising memory
technologies for the next generation memory systems dues to its salient features of
high density, superior scalability, very low leakage power, low latency, good
endurance, long retention (over 10 years), large capacity, byte addressability, shock
resistivity and better reliability compared to other non volatile memories (Raoux et
al., 2008; Lee et al., 2010; Wong et al., 2010; Zilberberg et

s paper one will discuss two myths from different cultures. The two myths chosen for
this paper are the Genesis creation (Hebrew origin) of the Christian culture, and the
Norse culture of Iceland (the Vikings). Both of these creation myths start with an
emptiness where conflict and chaos eventually develop. The Genesis crearion is
between God, nothing, blackness, emptiness, loneliness, and the need to create
something. The Norse creation is between the dark cold realm of Niflheim, within the
emptiness of Ginnungagap, and the fiery realm of Muspell, where nothing can grow.
There are nine classifications of creation myths, which most include more than one
motif. The Genesis cosmogonies applies both ex nihilo, and deus faber motifs. The...

Day five, God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird,
blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life (Fairchild, 2013,
para. 6). Day six, God created the animals to fill the earth (Fairchild, 2013, para. 7).
Then God created man in his own image, both male and female, and instructed
them to multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1: 27 28). He made them rulers
over the earth to cultivate and care for it, and every living thing upon the earth
(Genesis 1: 28). On day seven, God said his work was done, so he blessed the seventh
day, making it a day of rest. The Norse creation mythdoes not have one maker of
good, but many events and elements that emerge from one evil giant. In this story
a cow slowly licks away mountains of ice from two beings, creating the god Buri
and his goddess wife (Distant Train, Inc., 2011). They had a son named Bor, and
his son was named Odin, who became the king of all the gods (Distant Train, Inc.,
2011, para. 6). Ymir was an evil, brutal, and cruel giant. One day Odin and the
other gods plotted to kill Ymir because they could no longer follow his evil ways.
Ymir s body became the earth, his flesh became the land, his blood became the sea,
his hair became the trees, and his bones became the mountains (Distant Train, Inc.,
2011). Odin and the other gods created the sky from Ymirs skull, which was held up
by four pillars (Distant Train, Inc., 2011). Odin created the moon and the sun by
The Catholic Church Should Accept That Gay Marriage
The Catholic Church should accept that gay marriage is morally acceptable and
doesn t contradict their beliefs. Gay marriage has been a topic of controversy ever
since the 1970 s. May of 1970 to be exact. Around This time two men named
Richard John Jack Baker and James Michael McConnell in Minnesota applied to
Hennepin County District Court clerk Gerald Nelson for a marriagelicense. They
were denied because they both were men. This issue of two people of the same sex
getting married is still a topic of debate to a lot of people even after the U.S.
Supreme court made gay marriage legal in all 50 states in 20151. The Catholic
Church teaches to treat homosexuals with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. That
every act of hate, violence, and persecution toward them is condemned. The
Church doesn t view homosexuals no poorly than they do everyone else but it is
their views on marriage that are in question. They believe that all sexual activity
outside of marriage as a sin and an immoral act. So, if we restrict marriage from
homosexuals then if they are in a sexual relationship with another they are in turn an
immoral person. Therefore, the Catholic Church should view gay marriage the same
as heterosexual marriage, with reverence and sanctity. Marriage, also known as the
matrimonial covenant, is to establish a partnership between a man and a woman for
the entirety of their lives and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the
spouses and the procreation
Catholic Church During The Fifteenth Century
The Catholic Church during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries was plagued by
internal corruption that caused discontent among its followers. The church beginning
in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries increasingly became a system in which
aristocrats were able to increase their wealth. In large numbers these aristocrats
began to occupy the highest offices available to the Catholic clergy. However, for
many aristocrats holding just one high office was not enough to satisfy their desire
for increased wealth. This greed led to the practice of pluralism, which was the
holding of multiple church offices by one individual. These aristocrats often times
would then hire an underqualified individual to work the office for them. This
practice,

In their attempt to explain the news, printers are also critical of the events which

the use of their writing and language, they convince people to believe them and to

Introduction
Wireless networks have grown in popularity. This is largely due to the increase in
the value of a network as more users are attached to it. The value added to a network
by nature of connecting more devices to it, is summarized in Metcalf s law. Metcalf s
law states that if you connect any number, В‘n, of machines whether computers,

Standardization organizations, like IEEE, ETSI, are providing continuous effort to
meet new demands from user by introducing new standards as well as minimizing
shortcomings of the previous standards. This includes performance fine tuning, like
smother and seamless roaming capabilities as well as QoS and most importantly
security features. These standards are currently in development, and will sit atop of
existing ones delivering more robust performance Wireless LAN. [5] The wireless
market is expected to grow significantly over the next several years. As this growth
occurs, solution providers will also be expected to address security concerns. [6]
Components of a wireless network
IEEE 802.11 wireless networks consist of the following components:
Stations: A station (STA) is a network node that is equipped with a wireless network
device. A personal computer with a wireless network adapter is known as a wireless
client. Wireless clients can communicate directly with each other or through a
wireless access point (AP). Wireless clients are mobile.
Wireless APs: A wireless AP is a wireless network node that acts as a bridge between
STAs and a wired network. A wireless AP contains:

Midterm #2 Part 1
The Disney movie Pocahontas was released in 1995 and was directed by Mike
Gabriel and Eric Goldberg. The film depicts the life of a young Native American
woman known as Pocahontas and the hardships she comes to face as she develops a
relationship with an English settler whose original plan was to take stronghold of
their land. Pocahontas utilizes the dramatic progression of exposition, complication
/rising, action and resolution. In addition, the film is organized in a series of cuts and
angles to develop an aesthetically pleasing movie.
Pocahontas introduces crucial background information such as the different
settings, characters, etc. This is primarily done through the use of dialogue. An
example of this would be the lyrics of the song in the beginning of the film, which
states, For the new world is like Heaven, and we ll all be rich and free, or so we have

For this scene, the directors utilized a panoramic style camera angle, where the
camera rotates horizontally across Virginia. The use of a panorama displays the
vastness of the undiscovered and untainted land before the invasion of the English
settlers. In addition, panning creates a smooth transition between the different cuts in
the movie. It creates a match cut, where two similar shots are joined together, making
the transition hidden from the viewers.
In addition, the directors also include an aerial view camera angle in this scene,
which gives the impression of a bird flying above the vast landscape. In contrast to
the panorama, this camera angle provides a greater distance between the land and
the camera while the panorama was much closer. Instead of seeing just the crops and
the trunks of the trees, the aerial perspective allows the viewer to see the entire
farmland as well as the entirety of the trees and flowing

The Great Depression And Its Effect On Society Today
Great Depression
The Great Depression was a tremendous downfall into the economy it also had a
long lasting effect on society today. The Great Depression happened because stock
markets crashed which sent millions of people into distress about their income on
how they re going to feed their families. The Great Depression was an economy
downfall meaning that people couldn t have jobs or they re losing jobs and people
had to find work in order to feed their families. We have learned to watch for warning
signs to prevent another depression.
The Great Depression Financial fall was a crisis what we learned from .For

Depression years, unemployment rates in the United States reached almost 25%, with
more than 11 million people looking for work (Darity). The Great Depression
unemployment rate left people out to dry and starve if they didn t have any

Becoming A Medical Doctor While For Sciences
A career is simply one s calling in life. It is a person s occupation or one s
profession. It is the particular occupation for which one is trained. As a teenager, I
discovered that I have passion for helping people. When I got to college, I decided
to pursue a career in one of the following fields; health sciences, sciences, and
education. For health sciences, I chose to become a medical doctor while for
sciences, I chose to be an organic chemist and for education I decided to be a
chemistry professor. Each of these careers is unique and has its educational
requirements and targeted audience. With the advancement of technologies, hundreds
of new technologies emerge yearly in these careers resulting in development of
ethical behaviors for each emerging technology.

Health care has been the heart of every community. It helps in taking care of the sick
and the needy. Health care is a field that required compassion from its worker. Some
careers in health care sector includes: dentists, nurse practitioner, Physician, dental

other professionals in the health field to provide quality health care services to the
people. According to the article in Bureau of Labor Statistics, the functions of

Oedipus The King Teiresias Analysis
In the play, Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus spends all his life trying to
prevent a prophecy he had heard from coming true. To prevent it, Oedipus goes to
Thebes and on his way, Oedipus kills a man who turns out to the king of Thebes,
Laius. Thebes is under a curse and the control of a Sphinx, and if Oedipusanswers the
riddle of the Sphinx then he can free Thebes and become the king. Oedipus
answers the riddle correctly and becomes the savior of Thebes and marries the
queen, Jocasta, who was the wife of Laius. Because he marries Jocasta and killed
Laius, the prophecy comes true; however, Oedipus does not know that the
prophecy is true until later in the play. Teiresias is a blind prophet, who Oedipus
asks to come to Thebes to see who the killer of Laius is. After Teiresias comes to
visit Oedipus, he then spends the rest of his life in denial of what really happened. In
Oedipus the King, Teiresias plays the role of showing Oedipus arrogance and
ignorance through foreshadowing and dramatic irony.
In the scene where Oedipus forces Teiresias to visit him, Teiresias proves Oedipus
arrogance when Teiresias declares, You are the cursed polluter of this land (353).
Teiresias reveals how arrogant and ignorant Oedipus actually turns out to be when
he says this to Oedipus. Oedipus acts surprised and exclaims, Have you no shame at
all? (354), which reveals how Oedipus believes Teiresias is wrong and that he is not
the reason for why Thebes is cursed. However, through

Interest rate swap basics
Swaps, being highly liquid derivatives, are not traded on stock exchange, but
facilitated by over the counter (OTC) trading. Interest rate swap is an arrangement
between two parties whereby they exchange one set of interest payment for another.
The most widespread arrangement is when fixed rate interest payments are exchange
for floating rate interest payment on some notional amount over the time. This
notional amount is generally not exchanged between counterparties, but is used only
for calculation of the size of cash flows to be exchanged, and what is more, usually

Harlem Renaissance Resistance
The Harlem Renaissance was the most important movement in regards to both
American art history and resistance art. The movement spoke to a new generation of
artists, thinkers, poets, and scholars to discuss African American pride, history, social,
and cultural attitudes within a form. This was also known as the New Negro
Movement, stemming from the 1920s where African Americans sought to educate,
shock, and celebrate their own culture. Public inspiration in Harlem became popular
due to the works that Aaron Douglas created. In the postmodern era following the
Harlem Renaissance, artists such as Faith Ringgold and Michael Ray Charles began
to reillustrate ideas from the Harlem Renaissance and presents them as new ideas in
several artworks, displaying its resistance to the status quo.
To determine if an artwork that stems from the Harlem Renaissance into the 1980s
is considered resistance art can be difficult as one can argue both ways. The New
Negro movement follows a pattern of resistance in the artworks subject matter or the
artist s method of creation. The Harlem Renaissance s creations are a foundation of
resistance through the use of subject matter and mediums in response to social
movements. The beginning of the movement marked a time of rebirth, pride and
unity for Harlem and it s newly free relocated citizens of African Americandescent.
In the 1980s African American topics such as, the Mammy character and or Uncle

The Similarities Of Beowulf And Sir Gawain And The
Green...
Beowulf and Sir Gawain and The Green Knight are British mythological stories
whose authors are unknown. The stories paint the picture of brave and selfless
heroes who put the lives of their fellow men before their own. Though the stories
differ in their narration, they are built on the same ideas and principles. This essay
compares and contrasts the various themes in these two stories and their
development. The issues discussed are the role of women, strength and courage and
afterlife.
Throughout history, man has struggled with the question What happens when I die?
The answer to this question influences a person s beliefs and conduct throughout his
life. Both Beowulf and Sir Gawain were greatly influenced by their beliefs about the
afterlife or lack thereof. Beowulf was brought up at a place where Pagan beliefs
were dominant. Beowulf s community believed that the soul was mortal and the only
way a person could be immortal is being remembered by the people left behind. After
Scyld Scefing s death, his thanes carried him down to the sea currents, outfitted his
boat with all manner of riches, and then set it adrift. (Savage, 169). These words
reference a community that did not believe in life after death. The story uses him
which implies that they did not believe that the soul outlived the body.
This type of belief meant that the only way to gain immortality is ensuring that people
had something to remember you for. Beowulf ensured that he did extraordinary
deeds so that people would remember him after his death. According to the story,
Beowulf is at home in Geatand. He hears of Grende and immediately sets off to
confront the monster. Upon reaching Herot, he explains his presence; In my youth,
I have set about many great deeds. (Bradey, 86). Killing a Grendel was an
extraordinary act of courage and people remembered him for many years due to this
deed. Beowulf collected trophies to ensure that the legacy of his conquests would
live on for generations. When he fought with the Grendel, he cut its arm, and he
stored it in a curved roof.
Sir Gawain, on the other hand, believed that the soul was immortal and that he would
ascend to heaven after his death. Sir Gawain felt that to gain immortality he had to

Favela s Essay

Poverty has been around for many centuries, all around the world. Some of the
societies governments aren t doing a thing to fix these shanty towns and favelas.
They try to keep them isolated from the more wealthy parts of the city. Whether it
means putting up fences or just keeping them in a distance from the others. These
people are being treated like animals, forced to live in flooded areas on top of one
another. The favelas in Rio De Janeiro are very similar to the shanty towns in
Jakarta, Indonesia. The Favelas in Rio De Janeiro lie beneath the beautiful part of
Brazil. Some of the old famous favelas where made of a mixture of sand and clay.

The only thing the government does is put up gates to separate them from the
wealthy part of the city. Many people in Jakarta depend on the communal area to
wash their clothing and bathe because they don t have there own water supply.
Nobody deserves to live like this because it is very dangerous and hazardous.
Although there isn t any violence in Jakarta, it s not a good place to live. Its
always flooded so you have to travel on little boats made of wood to get from one
place to another. Jakarta s slums and Rio De Janeiro s favelas have a lot of things
in common. Both of their governments aren t trying to make these living conditions
better. They just keep them secluded in one area away from the wealthy parts of
the city. It isn t safe nor healthy for people to be living in contaminated water or on
top of one another in unsteady shacks. People from around the world come to visit
these towns because they find it interesting or attractive that people are living like
this, instead of trying to help them they just admire the way they are living. Still to
this day nothing is being done to improve this situation. Even though people are
poor they shouldn t have to be living like this because they are humans too.
Everybody should be treated and looked at equally. Sometimes food is very scarce
so people have to go nights without eating anything. No one should have to live there

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Supply Chain
Supply chain aims to meet customer needs and consists of all parties, including
manufacturers, suppliers, transporters, warehouses, retailers and customers. (Chopra
Meindl, 2016) Firstly, in GDM s own country, GDM is the largest refrigerator
manufacturers. GDM focus on three models refrigerators that designs, promotion and
manufacturers by themselves. Secondly, GDM depends on some suppliers, including
the key suppliers in US and some local suppliers. Then, in GDM, there is not has a

In fact, GDM is lack of suitable routes to market and just has a major domestic
department store chain. Online sales can affect customer experience and make it
more convenience. For example, online retailer Amazon, the principal business model
is business to customers (B2C) e commerce. (Pauline, 2006) Internet can help
customer select products easily and do not have to go outside. Another benefits for
online sales is faster time to market. A company can launch a new product quickly by
Internet than stores. For example, Walmart usually has a good sale with their new
products on Walmart.com than retail stores. (Chopra Meindl, 2016) Therefore, GDM
can expand its distribution on online sales, rather than just on store chain. However,
GDM has a bad reputation with cheap and unreliable refrigerators. A firm with
competitive advantage usually seeks to meet customer needs through its products and
services. To achieve strategy fit, company should make the competitive advantage and
supply chain strategy has the same goals. The first step is to understand customer
needs, the uncertainty and implied uncertainty. Design rate of innovation in the
product one of the attributes in the first step. Due to GDM was suffered from the
outdated models, it can add some new features on refrigerators or develop new
designs to meet customer needs. However, Walmart customers may have less
sensitive about product innovation. The second step is to understand the efficiency
and responsiveness. Higher efficiency is important for GDM because it aims to

With Christian Brothers their plan focus on the whole university and responsibilities
are designated by university personnel, while the university of Cincinnati roles of
responsibility are designated by the athletic department staff.
What are they missing?
I believe Christian Brothers University is missing a separate plan that will cover their
athletic department. It is very important for the athletic department to have their own
plan to assist with the student athletes and manage crowd control to ensure safety in
case of an emergency. However, I would not omit anything in the risk/crisis
management plan. Even though, the Christian Brother s university does not have
specific plans for its athletic department, I do admire the fact that they have a disaster

Student Sexual Misconduct And Sexual Harassment
Teacher student sexual misconduct cases are on the rise nationwide. There has been
less attention and emphasis on these issues. This paper will focus on the ethical
issues and any involvements surrounding sexual misconducts and sexual harassment
between teachers and students. This paper will define knowledge and an
understanding on what constitutes a sexual misconduct and sexual harassment. This
paper will enlighten the ethical concerns about teacher student sexual misconduct and
sexual harassment. This paper will also focus on the persuasiveness of misconducts in
the educationfield and identify which ethical standards that will and should be of
assistance as a path for teachers as well as students. This paper will establish ways
to avoid and prevent sexual misconduct. The main issues of the journals and articles
that I have chosen is how sexual harassment and sexual misconduct can possibly
occur, how sexual misconduct and sexual harassment has been a problem of
enormous or inappropriate intimacy between teachers and students. This paper will
also identify what a person should do if they have experienced sexual harassment and
sexual misconduct. This paper will provide ways how to identify and prevent way of
sexual misconduct and sexual harassment in the school systems.
According to Standard 3.02 Sexual Harassment, psychologists do not engage in
sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as sexual solicitation, physical

Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee Essay
The way that people understand their circumstances and surroundings is often
directly correlated to the way they perceive the world around them. An adult
understands much more around him than a child does because of the mature, more
knowledgeable perception he has. Meanwhile, the child, while not able to fully
understand what she sees, often sees more than an adult because of the knowledge
hungry, curious perceptionshe has. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, the characters
range in gender, age, and intelligence. The narrator herself is a young elementary
age child. She is extremely smart for her age, but because of her limited exposure
to the world, does not fully understand the seriousness and danger of the story
unfolding around her. While the book To Kill a Mockingbird covers many
controversial topics, perception and the change certain characters undergo that
effects this perception are the key to connecting many of them. One of the main
characters in Too Kill a Mockingbird is Jem. He is Scout s older brother. As the
story is told, he ages, transitioning from a young boy into a teenager. His perception
of the world around him changes vastly as he ages, leaving curiosity behind for a
better understanding. At the beginning of the story, the reader is introduced to the
unseen character of Boo Radley. According to the adults around town, he is a recluse
who never leaves his home. However, Jem, Scout, and their friend Dill see him in a
different light. Jem

The Influence of Medici Family During Renassaince Era
Boneish Bryan
The Medici family made a tremendous impact during on the world of art during the
Renaissance Era. They used their wealth to build more wealth and thus began to rule
Florence. Their impact was a positive one especially for aspiring artists. They
encouraged artists to grow in their crafts and become greater. The Medici family was
heavily into politics which boosted their influence in Italy. According to Young:
Cosimo thus showed himself a cruel and merciless tyrant, in his subsequent history he
manifested extraordinary abilities; with results for which his country had every
reason to be grateful. It is indeed, short of marvellous how one who silent and taciturn
by nature, had in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under Lorenzo s influence he began writin ballads and short lyrics, some of which
got out into the streets in carnival time. They were sung in Florence for generations
afterwards. Hardly an artist of the High Renaissance was not honoured or subsidised
by the Medici family. Artists such as Donatello, Castagno, Masolino all flourished
under Cosimo and Puero (Rowdon 166 68).
One famous artist that is well known today is Michelangelo. He was a young
protege of Lorenzo the Great. Upon Lorenzo s death, Michelangelo was inspired to
create extravagent artwork. One of these works are Battle of Centaurs . Lorenzo
gave good advice to artists that came up to attempt to be one of his followers.
Leonardo
Da Vinci was not a part of his court because Lorenzo liked works that were finished
and at that time Da Vinci seemed to be in an experimental type phase in his art

not to say that his works were not good but they simply were not to the taste
Racial Inequality
Racial inequality id reflected on past and present day racial disparities in access to
housing, education, political leadership, and high income employment (Korgen
Furst, 2012). Racial inequality does indeed violate the core value of American
culture. African Americans and minorities that are considered felons or once were
felons undergo racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic inequalities, not because they are
criminals but because of the color of their skin. Extent research linking racial
disparities in criminal sanctions and victimization to different domains of inequality
remains incomplete and largely segmented, and most patterns of criminal punishment
have led to the persistence; in some instances, the worsening of racial and ethnic
inequality in numerous of social institutions. Young me of color are at greater risk of
both, criminal sanctions and victimization. They are highly vulnerable to the
deleterious effects of criminal punishment and victimization. Wheelock and Uggen
(2005) young African Americanmen with low levels of education are more likely
than any other social group to be incarcerated (Pettit and Western 2004), and to
become victims of homicide or robbery (U. S. Department of Justice 2001; U. S.
Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation 2004). Even a felony
conviction can render such person s ineligible for student financial aid, housing
assistance, and a wide array of employment opportunities (Curtin 2005, Rubinstein

Analysis Of One Big Myth And One True Hero
The Western genre can be a variety of works, including texts and films, which are set
in the American Old West during the latter half of the nineteenth century. This genre
primarily focuses on the life of a cowboy with gunfights, a good guy and a bad guy,
and the usually ending of riding off into the sunset. The common misconception that
is shown throughout the Westerngenreis that the male characters are always the hero,
whereas the female characters are impediments and less valuable. This relates to
Susan Lee Johnson s quote on how the Western genre always portrays One Big Myth
and One True Hero. She states that Much is held in abeyance when {the} impulse to
find One Big Myth and to indentify its One True Hero is indulged. Johnson... Show

Just like in Johnny Guitar, Reichardt uses the women to tell the story instead of the
men. We see that throughout the movie, the camera stays closer to the women
when men talk rather than follow the men. This is showing that women are the
main focus and this story is going to be told through their point of view. Since the
movie has women at the center of it, Reichardt shows that some women are
fearless and resilient. Emily Tetherow, one of the main women, stands her ground
against Stephan Meek when he threatens to kill the Indian. She also fixes the
Indian s shoe not because she was being nice, but because she wanted him to owe
her something. Emily may be brave and strong, but she is definitely not an earth
mother. She was conniving and wasn t afraid to pick up a gun and fight for what
she believed in. She would go against part of the group if it meant she would
survive. Meek s Cutoff is also not like a traditional Western in the sense that there
are no gunfights, no good guy versus the bad guy, and ultimately there is no action
in the movie. However, Westerns are usually set in desolate landscapes, like the
desert or mountains, because they show the harshness of the wilderness. Meek s
Cutoff is set in this type of landscape and it certainly shows how harsh the wilderness
can be. Besides that aspect of a traditional Western, the movie incorporates its own
twists. Just like Johnny Guitar and Meek s Cutoff, Winona also goes against what is
considered traditional and revolutionizes the

How Sound Developed Changed America During The 1920s
...
In this essay I will explain how sound developed in American cinema in the 1920s,
beginning with silent films in the 1910s. I will explore the development of sound
systems from large corporations in America, and the failed experiments with sound
beforehand. I will analyse the use of these sound systems by Warner Brothers and
Fox, the first filmstudios to adopt sound, and explore how this led to the Big Five
film studios also adopting the use of synchronised sound. I am going to examine the
reasons why synchronised sound developed from a teleological, contextual, and
technology determinist approach. To conclude I will evaluate the impact
synchronised sound had on the film industry in America during the 1920s.
As Raymond Fielding stated films have never truly been silent films even before
the introduction of synchronised sound, there was never any such thing as a silent
film at least as far as the audience was concerned (Cameron, 1980, p. 3 4). Films
were shown to audience s in vaudevilles and were often imitations of other vaudeville
acts. These films were played alongside music, often had a commentator to helps the
audience understand their narratives, and used instruments and actors to create sound
effects. Since films were never silent to begin with from a teleological approach you
could argue that synchronised sound was inevitable in the development of film
because it just standardised and mechanised the aural component (Neale, 1985, p. 93)
that was already
Estepr Theory Lab
The purpose of this lab was to determine the atomic structure of small molecules and
ions which we did by drawing Lewis Dot Structures, drawing molecular geometries,
and using the VSEPR model on a computer. The VSEPR Theory states that molecular
geometries of molecules can be predicted through their number of electronpairs on the
central atombecause these electrons will repulse each other as much as they can
while still being bound to the central atom. The Lewis Dot Structures and the
molecular geometries that we were asked to draw were in order for us to have
background knowledge of how each moleculewas shaped before we had to make them
on the computer.
Most of the angles we calculated in the molecular geometry section of our lab were
similar to the ones we predicted in Section II.C. For example, our model for ClF5
was predicted to have less than a 90 degree angle and our calculated result on the
computer was 87.52 degrees. Also, the CO32 predicted model was 120 degree angle
and we got 119.99 degrees which rounds up to the predicted model. However, some
of the angles we calculated did not agree with the predictions we made. For example,
CH3OH was predicted to have a bond angle of less than 109.5 degrees for both the C
and O bond but our computer model showed an angle of 120.08 degrees for the C
bond and 163.40 for the O bond. In the beginning of ... Show more content on

Through this structure we can see which atomic orbitals make up the different
parts of molecular orbitals. The HOMO orbital is antibonding with sigma bonds.
The HOMO 1 orbital is a bonding pi orbital. The HOMO 2 orbital is a bonding,
sigma orbital. The LUMO orbital is an antibonding pi orbital. The LUMO 1 is a
bonding pi orbital. We can tell this because antibonding orbitals have a gap between
the two atoms while bonding orbitals do not. A sigma bond occurs through axial
overlap between atoms. A pi bond occurs with lateral overlapping of
Home Life And Social Life Affect Education

Home life and social life affect education
Freedom Writers tells a story that mainly happens between a young teacher named
Erin and her students of different races. Erin needs to balance the demands of her
husband Scott and her students. She takes two extra part time jobs to support her
education career, which is ridiculous for normal people. However, some people think
it is worth being a teacher like that. Yet others hold opposite views about what Erin
has done for her students. The relationships Erin forms with her students inspire
admiration and deep attachment in readers hearts. It is obvious that home life and
social life affect education.
Erin s students lived in an environment filled with war and violence. They were
born in an unfair society, where anger, struggle, confusion, contradictions, helpless,
and corruption filled their days. 1 At first, they said that they didn t know her, she
didn t know them. Why should they show their respect for her . They hated her
because she was a white person. 2 therefore, they were angry with Erin as she was
white. It was understandable for them to behave like that, because there was no
socially acceptable way to let them vent their anger. They never listen to her and
even betting when Erin would give up. Erin tried to do everything to live in
harmony with them. It turned out to be useless. One day, a picture that aimed at
laughing a boy s big nose was seen by Erin. It reminded her of the attitude that Nazi

The Role Of Mental Health
Mental health has become a pervasive topic in society. According to Mary Jo
Thomas, mental health is defined as a state of successful performance of mental
function, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with other people,
and the ability to adapt to change and cope with adversity (Thomas). In essence,
Thomas describes how the role of mental health and stability supports daily life. One
in five adults have a mental health condition, which equates to forty million
Americans affected by disorders, ranging from mild to severe (State of Mental).
Currently, there is no one cure for treating mental illness; however, there are many
different forms of treatment available (PsychiatryAdmits It). Over 64.8% of mental
health patients receive treatment treatment over time, but the treatment remains
delayed and inadequate (Mental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the time, Lobotomies were known as popular cure for mental illness. Doctor
Lerner, a medical historian and professor at NYU Langone Medical Center said, The

bad behaviors (Lewis). Although some people believed Doctors Freeman and Moniz,
front runners in the lobotomy procedure, methods were barbaric, others were
intrigued by the idea that the frontal lobe and the rest of the brain could be separated,
resulting in schizophrenic people, relieved of their emotional distress (Newt).
Lobotomies were thought to treat the conditions of: mood disorders, schizophrenia,
depression, mood fluctuations, violence to self or others, hallucinations, importunate
actions, and self mutilation (Г–gren). Looked at as a cure all for severe cognitive
disorders, lobotomies represented an unverified procedure for patients; only after a

Internet Addiction: Cybersex and Porn Vs. a Dependency on Video Games
Abstract
Within our modern world, the notion that human beings are distancing themselves
farther and farther from inter personal communication cannot be closer to the truth. In
today s world, people utilize technology to make things easier, and to better
understand the world surrounding the individuals. What ever happened to the
relationship between a single person and their peers when knowledge came to be a
defining factor? In this research paper, it will be discussing what an addiction to this
technology does to a person. It will be investigating the differences and comparisons
between two forms of an internet addiction: Cybersex and porn, and a dependency
on video games. It will also be considering what these two addictions do and how
they affect the lives of both single people, and parents who have adopted
responsibilities within their households by declaring themselves part of a family unit.
Summary
Internet addiction is a new age phenomenon that not all people are active in the
modern world fully understand. According to (Kuss Griffiths 2015) internet
addiction has been conceptualized as behavioural addiction involving the excessive
use of the online applications and leading to detrimental impacts on the affected
individuals lives (2). To many people think or even say, it is simply playing on the
computer too much , however, those same people do not even realize that they are

High School Uniform Polices Essay example
High School Uniform Polices
Hello, I am here today to tell you about a problem that I see in our high schools.
This problem is that there is not a uniform policy in all of schools. There are many
arguments for and against having a uniform policy in the school systems. Some
would argue that having a uniform would limit kids from their self expression and
individuality. While others believe that this is a good ideaso that there is not any
labels in our schools. By this I mean that poor and rich kids will not be noticed by
what they wear. No matter what the outcome in this matter there will always be
people that get upset about the outcome. I am here to give you my reason for
supporting the idea that all high schools should have a ... Show more content on

A lot of poorer kids get picked on because their parents do not have the money to
buy them the same clothes that others can afford. It is not fair to let some kids get
picked on because their parents are not as well off financially as others. Another
problem with not having a dress code is that it allows gang members to be recognized
in school. I am not saying that this is a big problem at every school but it is at
some. Gang members may have some article of clothing or wear something a
certain way which would represent their gang. This is something that is noticeable
to everyone at school. Some younger schoolmates may see these people and want
to join the group because it looks cool and they want to fit into something. Having
a dress code would not stop people from being in these gangs but it would take
away the visual aspects of the gang. I feel that if we change this in our schools that
there would be a loss of self expression to the kids of our schools but the positives
would far be greater than the negatives.
To best solve this problem would be to have a set uniform for school. This should
be very basic so there is little room for self expression. I feel that the uniforms
should come from the same store so that all of the people are dressed just alike. If
the policy asked for Kakuei pants and a button up shirt then there will still be labels
on the clothes. But if they all come from the same store then there could
Pros And Cons Of The Gilded Age
Looking at the Bigger Picture In the late 18th to the early 19th century, some people
were desperate to make money fast. Populations were growing so rapidly, and
people struggled to make enough living for their families. In conjunction, the United
States tried to transition into a more modern and efficient world. This resulted in
new ideas and inventions, in hopes to make living easier in a changing world. This
period of time was known as the Gilded Age. Nineteenth century entrepreneurs are
captains of industry based on their ability to boost the economy, the standard of living
increased, and the lasting impression they made on America.
Looking at entrepreneurs as robber barons is somewhat credible because of
businessmen s tendency to claw their way to the top, despite hurting others along
the way. However, on the opposite side of the spectrum, the jobs provided by these
entrepreneurs ended up helping the American economy. Business owners were
responsible for, the American economy [to grow and grow]. By 1914, the small
nation once seen as a playground for European empires had now surpassed them all
(The Gilded Age). These owners are captains of industry because of their ability to
boost the economy and further progress America in the right direction. America
started out as a small nation, but due to mainly business, America was able to surpass
even larger nations. Other business figures, such as Thomas Alva Edison, invented

Managing The Change Management Strategy
Organizational change management is the outline for managing the change
management strategy. It also helps with the corporate processes for structural and
cultural changes of Blue Cross Blue Shield. Change management helps our
organization realize why the change was essential so that we can accept all changes
and goals to move forward. Change in our organization is good for all of the
employees since it will help them gain new skills and competencies and this in fact is
an organizational goal of the company. The first step for our change management
strategy is creating urgency. For this change to occur, the whole establishment
needs to be on board and really wants it. Developing a sense of urgency around the
need for change can trigger the initial motivation to get things moving. Without
motivation, individuals will not help and the efforts for the change will not go
anywhere (Kotter, 1995, p. 60). Managing change across the board if it is not done
correctly can be damaging. The second step is to convince our employees that
change is necessary. This frequently takes strong management and noticeable support
from important people within our organization. Dealing with change is not enough
one will have to lead everyone in this process. Once shaped our change partnership
or coalition needs to work together as team and continue to build urgency round the
need for change. Our goal is to be successful. It requires that our organization gets all
of the knowledge it can so

Christianity In The 3rd Century
The Late Antiquity period marked the beginning of the primacy of Christianity in
Europe and the Mediterranean, a primacy that has shaped the cultures of modern day
in fundamental ways. Following the Roman Crisis in the 3rd century, the nature of
the relationship between The Roman State and The Church (or rather, Churches,
perhaps) underwent a profound evolution, eventually resulting in the end of
Paganism, Roman power, and the period of Antiquity itself. Some of the most
significant aspects of the relationship between Church and State in the fourth to sixth
centuries AD were: the Tetrarchy, Constantine s conversion, the rise of
Constantinople and the fall of the Western Empire, and the Codex of laws compiled
by Theodosius cementing Nicene Christianityas the official religion of the State. The
relationship between Church and State during this time provided the cocoon for this
metamorphosis of history, and persecution in general was the silk that held it
together. The development of this new relationship took centuries and many tears, but
would have impacts for millennia.
In the mid 3rd century the Roman Empire had all but fallen. Diocletian acted to save
the corpulent empire by delegating, and these acts held the empire together for
another century or more. However, the actions of ... Show more content on

children have to live up to. Many psychologists have stated that these girls could

Write a 350 to 700 word memo to the president of McGraw Industries that responds to
questions in the case.
Explain how the cost of debt, cost of equity, and weighted average cost of capital are

Cost of debt is simply the weighted rates of interest paid by the company on its
debts. However, cost is equity is not so straightforward. The cost of equity is based
on an estimate of a reasonable rate of return on the shareholders investment. The term

However, even though earnings per share will be maximized with this capital structure
, it may not be the best option. With the increased debt, the company will be
considered a financial risk with a low times interest earned ratio of 2.00. A low times
interest earned ratio indicates that the company may be unable to make payments on
contractual interest that becomes due and this is a great risk factor.
d. Using the zero growth valuation model given in Equation 11.12, find the market
value of McGraw s equity under each of the three capital structures at the $1,200,000
level of expected EBIT.
Current Capital Structure: so, $6.12 / .12 = 55.5 or $55.50
Alternative A at 30%: so, $7.71 / .13 = 59.31 or $59.31
Alternative B at 50%: so, $9.00 / .18 = 50.00 or $50.00
e. On the basis of your findings in parts c and d, which capital structure would you
recommend? Why?
After evaluating which structure can maximize EPS and keep EPS high during
zero growth valuation, I believe alternative A is the best. The reason alternative A
is better then both the current structure and alternative B is it raise EPS and still
keeps debt at a low percentage. This allows the company to have more financial
leverage, not be a risk for falling behind at a time interest ratio of 4.00, and give a
decent return to shareholders. The current option is too much equity financing with a
smaller EPS and
Showers Brother Furniture
Around 1869 William and James Showers bought out their father s struggle furniture
business. They were later joined in the business by their younger brother Hull.
Showers Brother Furniture grew rapidly and the brothers decided early on that they
were not interested in manufacturing furniture for retail sale or in operating a
furniture showroom ... Instead their new goal was to mass manufacture wholesale
furniture to sell in other cities (Krause, 2012, p. 48). As demand increased, their
furniture would be sold not just in distant stores but also from mail order companies
like Sears and Roebuck. The Showers Brother Furniture factory produced everything
from raw materials rather than relying on suppliers. This principle was emblazed in
their company slogan From the Tree to the Trade. They employed and developed
new technology along the way. They were one of the first Bloomingtonbusinesses to
switch from steam to electricity and they invented the process of laminating furniture

Michael Hoffman Play
In Michael Hoffman s film the events take place in Italy, instead of Ancient Greece
from the book. He might have done this because Italy has more of a romantic
feeling to it which help made the symbol of love more prevalent. Specifically,
during the wedding scene when all 3 couples were getting married they were all in
the front row of the church sitting next to the one they were getting married to. The
lighting was bright because they we inside celebrating a happy event. This is
scene is more enjoyable because you all the couple are next to each other so, you
can see their reaction to Pyramus and Thesis play. It helped shine light on the
characters and helped the audience relate themselves to the characters. The setting
controls the characters by their actions. The park square s play, directed by Elena

As the viewer I couldn t tell whether it was real or not. When Titania and Bottom
first saw each and Titan immediately fell in love with Bottom who looked like an
ass head because of the potion the setting was magical and you could tell that it
was fairy land. At one point Bottom was trying to leave, but Titania used nearby
vines to pick up Bottom by is legs so he would stay. When the characters were
falling asleep together, they laid on a flowery bed by a tree trunk and the
background lighting was dim. Everything surrounded them was trees and flowers as
Hoffman wanted it to look magical. This scene was entertaining mainly because of
the realistic setting and how it captured my interest. It established the mood and
atmosphere of the scene and developed more on the
Bob Malito Research Paper
My grandfather, Robert Calahan Malito, was born on February 13, 1934. He was
born and grew up on Long Island, New York. He had one sister growing up and her
name was Joan. His friends and family call him Bob. All through school, Bob
played football and track. He was very athletic and quite small, which made him
good at football, because he could dash down the fields. He was especially good at
track, he held the number one time in the state on the 100 meter dash for multiple
years. After 2 years of pre med school Bob decided to join the army. He was in the
army throughout the last part of the Korean War. The War started on June 25, 1950
and lasted 3 years. During the war he never saw combat. He mostly worked in the
administrative offices.
Similarities Between West Runner And Blade Runner
The series Westworld, set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined
past explores an amusement park intended for rich vacationers to live their primal
fantasies, no matter how noble or depraved. The park is occupied by hosts, which are
mechanical artificial beings programmed and constructed to be indistinguishable
from human beings both physically and intellectually. The series follows the stories
of different individuals in the amusement park both the vacationers, hosts and
scientists. In contrast, Blade Runneris set in the year 2019, where Los Angeles has
developed into a dark and depressing metropolis filled with decay. The film follows

The constant manipulation of the hosts by scientists symbolises the immense god
like control over hosts, for example, the continual memory wipes or the
decommissioning of a host once it is killed or escapes the loop. In Blade Runner
the only means of control is the limited lifespan granted to replicants, however, as
they are biological sentients unlike hosts they have free will and begin to question
their existence and search for answers. Control is a significant difference between
the two artificial beings, hosts are preprogramed, in essence, they are programmed
to speak and act within the constraints of their given role, with minor
improvisations, and this role referred to as a loop can be modified at any time by a
technician. In contrast, replicants in Blade Runner have the freedom to think,
imagine and remember, however, they are set to expire after a certain period. In
comparison to human beings, both of these artificial beings are superior, both
intellectually and physically as hosts are essentially robots and the replicants are
genetically modified beings.
Blade Runner presents artificial beings as mortals with enhanced mental and physical
capabilities juxtaposed to Westworld s androids that are presented as immortal beings
reborn after death with new personalities and memories. Ironically, in both texts the
perfect and flawless attributes of the artificial beings are highlighted in

The study of consumers helps firms and organizations improve their marketing
strategies by understanding issues such as how
The psychology of how consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different

Aemilia Lanyer s Poetry Analysis
Aemilia Lanyer s only book of poetry published in 1611 Salve Deus Rex Judeorum
marked Lanyer as a historically important literary figure. At age 42 she became the
first English woman to declare herself as a poet. Due to this, a lot of scholarship
published about her tends to lean toward feminism. From here feminist criticism
branches off into several categories: 16th century women writers, female
relationships, patronage, women s rights, discussions of property and home. Another
category that Lanyer incorporated into her writingwas linking or comparing her
female patrons to sacred figures. Lanyer is well known for writing for her main
inspiration and patron, Margaret, the Countess of Cumberland. Lanyer published one
of the first texts of English... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This category of scholarship dedicated to examining this characteristic of her writing
is interesting and just a unique as the technique itself. Micheline White s article, A
Woman with Saint Peter s Keys? : Aemilia Lanyer s Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum
(1611) and the Priestly Gifts of Women discusses this theme in Lanyer s only book
of poetry. White examines Lanyer s praise of her female patrons, her essentially
writing them as involved figures in the Passion, as well as other sacred images
and events. Another article titled, Aemilia Lanyer and the Virgin s Swoon:
Theology and Iconography in Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum by Gary Kuchar also
remarks on Lanyer s depiction of certain biblical events with women being
dominant participants. He also relates these depictions back to Lanyer s patrons
and how they influenced and informed her writing. Karin McKie in her article
Through a Glass, Brightly: The Magic of the Mirror Metaphor in Aemilia Lanyer s
Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum discusses this idea as well, and compares it to the mirror
metaphor where Lanyer writes to include more women, like herself, and dissimilar to
herself, in religious settings. Mckie mentions that Lanyer did this to in way redefine
how women participate in religious events, and religious
Satanism And Satanism
Goat Heads and Pentagrams When you think of Satanism, you might think of human
sacrifices, or perhaps even chanting wildly around a fire surrounded by enormous
herds of people in an attempt to please Lucifer himself. Guess what, they don t. But
on a serious note, have you ever thought it might not be what you think it is? Maybe
they are not as evil as society makes them out to be. I will be focusing most on the
history and important figures in the Satanic church, the symbols of satanismand their
meanings, and, finally, some of the practices and beliefs of satanists. Possibly
knowing more about this religion will compel you to think a little different about
its leaders and followers. The most notable Satanist would have to be the creator of
the whole thing, right? The first High Priest of the Satanic church was Anton
Szandor LaVey. He was born in 1930 and passed away at the age of 67 in 1997.
Because he was most known for his creation of the Satanic church and the Satanic
bible, he was also known by the name The Black Pope . He authored many other
books as well. LaVey loved Gothic and horror literature, but occult literature he
dismissed as frauds and as white magic . Since his world was filled with books,
Anton LaVey naturally befriended authors such as Clark Smith, Robert Johnson,
and George Hass. He was known by friends and family to have a very cynical view
on the world. If only here today to see what it has become. Anton LaVey was also a
very talented musician
Antony Is a Tragic Hero
Anthony and Cleopatra was written in 1607, following the incredible period that
gave us Hamlet, Orthello, King Lear and Macbeth. Although sometimes hard to
categorise, some put this play with Julius Caesar and Corialanus, the Roman plays:
all three use Plutharch s lives of the Noble Grecians and Romans as their primary
source and all three have concerns steeped in historical and political questions.
Shakespeare shows an impressive ability to assimilate the classical world in his own
terms and this is partly a tribute to the strength and vitality of Plutarch s writing. Yet,
although Shakespeare alters Plutarch freely to match his own dramatic purposes,
Plutarch s power to speak for his time and place shines through Shakespeare s... Show

Even with this conflict, Shakespeare perfectly depicts Anthony s love and dotage
of Cleopatra. Shakespeare uses language to contrast the cultures within Rome and
Egypt. The Roman characters speak in balanced, ordered blank verse which
suggests the regularity and order of their way of life . When speaking of Fulvia s
death Anthony s speech changes to perfect cambic pentameter when he says The
opposite of itself, She s good being gone implying his shocked reaction and mixed
emotion. He should be happy that she is dead so now he can spend his life with
his enchanting queen , Cleopatra but he is not . He seems shocked at word of her
death. The same rhythm is taken up in a greatly relaxed manner by the teasing of
Anthony and Cleopatra. Cleopatra taunts If it be love indeed, tell me how much
and Anthony replies with there s beggary in the love that can be reckoned . In
Egypt the characters speak mainly in phrase, showing their casual, relaxed and
sensous approach to life. The conversation is frivolous, sexual and scattered with
gossip . Not now to hear thee sing. I take no pleasure in alight a eunuch has. Tis well
for thee that, being unseminar d thy freer thoughts may not fly forth of Egypt. Has
thou affections? The language that Anthony uses towards Cleopatra is sensual and
laden with metaphors like: many thousand kisses, the poor last/ I lay you thy lips
Social Inequalities In The LGBTQA Community
Social inequality is basically considered to be an unfair distribution of resources
among people in a society. Inequality among people based on gender, sex, religion,
race, color, ethnicity was in our society for over a prolonged period but was not
dealt with. It s basically come into play when people try to consider their beliefs and
viewpoints as superior to other rather than respecting everyone s belief. People often
try to make certain notions of what normal is and then try to look at situations using
that criterion that is not correct. Everyone is unique in their own way and have
diverse ways to look at something. As the only sociologist on the North American
Council, I will try to highlight the most important social inequalities that need to be
addressed immediately. According to me the three social inequalities that need to be
addressed are Sexuality and genderinequality, Class inequality, and Ethnic Inequality.
To Start with, Sexuality and gender inequality refer to discriminating someone based
on their sexual orientation. often people confuse between sex and gender. Sex is
biologically assigned as in what reproductive part you have while gender is someone
feel internally. Even after living in the 21st century people still show inequality for
LGBTQA community. People tend to think heterosexuals are superior to
homosexuals creating a sense of inequality. There are still people not only in North
America but in various parts of worlds that are accepting homosexuality.
The Coastal Plains Of Texas
The Coastal Plains of Texas is a large area that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to
beyond the Rio Grande. This region can be divided into 5 distinct areas.
PINE BELT:
It extends 75 to 125 miles into Texas from the east and from north to south from the
Red River to about 25 miles of the Gulf Coast. The Pine Belt is practically the source
of all Texastimber production. Lumber is the principle industry. The climate is good
for a variety of fruits and vegetables. A great oil field discovered in 1931 contributed
to the economic growth of the area.
BLACKLAND BELT:
This area stretches from the Rio Grande to the Red River. This area runs through the
DFW metropolitan area. This area is also the most populated with the strongest
diversified manufacturing industry of the state.
COASTAL PRAIRIES:
This area extends along the Gulf of Mexico, from the Sabine River to the lower Rio
Grande Valley. Cattle ranching is the largest and strongest agriculture industry. Along
with cattle ranching, rice is also a very strong crop in the agriculture industry. More
principle crops include cotton, grains, vegetables, and citrus fruits.
LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY:
This low valley is also known as The Valley. It has the greatest citrus and winter
vegetables in Texas due to the lack of freezing weather. It is ranked very high among
the nation s fruit and truck farming regions.
RIO GRANDE PLAIN:
This massive plain lies south of San Antonio between the Rio Grande and the Gulf
Coast. The
The Haunting Of Hill House Analysis
The Themes of the Haunting of Hill House The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley
Jackson is the classics of the horror story, the novel, by which many other horror
writers of the 20th century have taken an example. It is a striking, impressive novel
with quite a lot of controversial themes brought up. Of particular interest are themes
of home and the haunting nature of Hill House, however, from the perspective of the
novel s protagonist, Eleanor Vance. If seen from the angle of her personality, these
themes relate much more to her psychological condition that to anything supernatural.
Notwithstanding, the supernatural is in the story, without a doubt, considering it is a
horror story. The first is the theme of the haunting nature of Hill... Show more content

Eleanor has no home in its true meaning, so important for a social human being.
Her family has been a wreck; her mother has had her for a personal tender for
eleven years, having deprived the girl of her personal life, and in the meantime
making her life as miserable as can be. Eleanor s sister and her family have never
considered Eleanor a grown up, never offered her support or understanding, so she
has never really felt attachment towards them. Readers see Eleanor as a person
without her family to rely on and actually without her home, for she keeps
repeating that all she has is her suitcase of clothes and a carton at the back seat of
her car, stolen from her sister (Jackson 197). Eleanor s search for the home
continues through the story, and Shirley Jackson emphasizes on it, especially in
the beginning, describing Eleanor s fantasies about her living in different houses,
which she sees along the road. Every mansion has its atmosphere, and Eleanor
daydreams about what her life could have been in each of them among the
oleanders, or in the house with lions at the porch, or in a tiny cottage with the
garden (Jackson 13 17). The young woman longs for having some place to go, but
life seems blurry and uncertain at present, so Eleanor prefers to catch the moment.
Her dreams of a perfect home develop when she tells Theodora about the imaginary
little apartment. She simply makes it up, following Theo s pattern and story, and
tricks the companion into believing she has a place to return, a little place of my
own, as she calls it (Jackson 71). Hill House becomes her home in an unexpected
way. When Eleanor starts losing her connection with the reality, when she buries in
her thoughts, and hears something sing to her, feels its touches, recognizes the
presence, she seems to dissolve in the house, to mingle with it. On a variety of
occasions, she feels her connection
Essay on Creationism and Grand Canyon
Comparative Essay Dating the Rocks of the Grand Canyon (Old Earth
Comparative Essay 1 Dating the Rocks of the Grand Canyon (Old Earth vs. Young
Earth) Dating the rocks of the Grand Canyon is a scientific way to find out the age
of this mysterious landmark. The age of the Earth and the Grand Canyon is a
question both of a biblical interpretation and scientific investigation. It can be viewed
by an old earth creationist and young earth creationist. The two creationists have a
difference of opinion concerning the formation and age of the Grand Canyon rocks.

The Grand Canyon has plenty of volcanic rocks near the bottom and the top. ICR,
Institute for Creative Research, has been involved in a project for years to date
these volcanic rocks. this study has come a long way to show that many of the
Grand Canyon strata could have formed rapidly, and that the erosion of the
Canyon by the Colorado River has not been going on for millions of years.
Comparative Essay 3 Compare and Contrast . The Grand Canyon and its age
determined by the young earth and old earth scientists will always be a
controversy. Either the rock dating is the evidence of millions of years, or it is
largely the evidence of Noah s Flood. It can t be both. If we believe what the
geologists says that the earth is billions of years old and shows no sign of a
worldwide Flood then that belief contradicts our belief in Noah s Flood. If we
accept God s inspired testimony regarding the Flood, we cannot logically believe
in millions of years. Noah s Flood truly washes away millions of years. The debate
about the age of the earth is ultimately a question of whose word we are going to
trust, the all knowing truthful Creator who has given us His book (the Bible) or
scientists who give us their books that contain maybe errors and therefore are
frequently revised. If you firmly trust and carefully read the Bible and become
informed on creationist interpretations of the geological record, you can
Classification Essay
Classification of Exercise Partners
Every woman s magazine I ve ever read gives its readers advice on exercising, and
one of the most common tips I ve seen is to find a partner to exercise with. In my
experience, however, having an exercise partner is not a good idea. I have
encountered five types of exercise partners, and I have concluded that it is definitely
best to exercise alone.
The Drill Sergeant
My ex boyfriend represents the Drill Sergeant. He is one of those people whose
motto is No pain, no gain. Of course, he assumes that everyone else follows this
decree as well. He will try to push you to the limit every time you exercise with him,
and can become nasty if you give up before he thinks you should. I refused to ... Show

She could not understand that few people need or even want constructive criticism.
Needless to say, we only ran together on a few occasions. I can only stand so much
optimism when I m gasping for breath and sweating profusely.
The Competitor
A high school teammate of mine was The Competitor. Her outlook on life was to
be the best at whatever she did, and exercising was no exception. She seemed
perfectly sweet, but her competitive streak emerged one afternoon. Our leisurely
jog gradually turned to a run, and then a full sprint. I glanced over at her and
noticed the pained expression on her face. I knew she was only pushing herself to
beat me: she felt she had to run faster and further. You would think that since I
knew this was the case, I would have given up and let her get her dose of
superiority. I didn t. I was determined to teach her a lesson. I had been jogging
regularly by that that time, and was in pretty good shape. She gave up first, and The
Competitor cannot stand to lose. We remained friends, of course, but never ran
together again. Her bruised pride and my sore muscles saw to that.
The Natural Athlete
A person doesn t fall into the category of The Natural Athlete because of attitudes or
actions, but because of superior ability. My cousin was the Natural Athlete. She didn
t spend much time exercising but was still in good shape. This alone was enough to
make me almost hate her. I had been working out faithfully for quite some time and
felt
Romeo And Juliet Alternate Ending Essay
He was finally free and on his own. Lance walked up the rough cement steps,
carrying the last box of his things into his new apartment. He pushed into the already
propped open door and stepped into the open space of his new home. Hunk and
Shiro were already inside.
That the last one? Hunk asked, as Lance set down the heavy box at his feet.
Sure is, I m finally moved in!
We still need to unpack all this stuff, Lance, Shiro said, leaning on the clean off white
wall across from Lance.
No problem, fellas, I got this.

One day this kind of emo guy in his literature class overheard him asking a hot girl
after class if she wanted to be his Juliet. The guy told Lance he should actually read
the play before he said things like that because Juliet committed suicide in the end.
The black haired guy then walked past him leaving a used copy of The Tragedy of
Romeo and Juliet on his desk. I want it back after you re done, he had muttered.
Though Lance was a little upset that this mullet head had messed up his mojo, he
gave it a shot. He finished it in three days (though he could have finished it in one,
he was just a little busy that week), and felt disgusted with himself and cringed at
all the terrible pick up lines he had said. He thought it was messed up asking a girl
to be his Juliet. Though it kind of made sense since he had just met her and all.
Lance ended up really liking the play, though he couldn t understand why people
thought it was the most romantic thing ever. Probably because they never actually
read it, Lance thought. Like... he did... oh.
The next day after class he walked up to the edgy kid s desk and returned the

Have you ever wondered what kind of a horse pulls the Budweiser cart? The
answer is a breed called a Clydesdale. This breed is one of the biggest horses that
there is. They are only used to pull carts and they are the best breed you can use to

Belgian Draft breeds. Though they are compared the Clydesdale is still by far the
best cart pulling horse (Blocksdorf n.p.). Clydesdale have a specific body type to

Belgian horses have small heads and thick, muscular necks. They have short legs
unlike the Clydesdale, but have the leg feathering similar to the Clydesdale. The
Belgians are usually seventeen hands tall, so similar to the Clydesdale. The colors
this breed is generally found in are chestnut and roan (Graphiq n.p.). The Shire
horse breed is also similar to the Clydesdale breed. It is also a type of draft horse
breed. One of the big differences is that the Shire horse breed stands approximately
21.2 hands tall. This is basically towering over the Clydesdale, which is
impressively tall. The Shire horses have slightly arched necks, but not as arched as
the Clydesdale. This neck makes them less attractive when pulling a cart. The Shires
also have large eyes and they are wide chested. The Shire breed is usually seen in the
colors of bay, black, chestnut, gray, and roan (Graphiq
Changing Face Of The Australian Family
Over the last five decades there have been many studies, reports, papers written and
statistics collected regarding the changing face of the Australian Family. Much of this
information focuses on living arrangements, relationships such as marriage and de
facto, one parent households, working mothers and fertility rates to name a few.
There are several factors that have caused variance to the structure and values of the
Australian familyincluding the increase of divorce, remarriage, same sex
relationships, one parent families and blended families. This paper will look at the
extent of change that the Australian family has undergone in the last 50 years,
focusing on two key issues, firstly the impact of women entering the workforce and
secondly the decrease of fertility rates.
A definition of family is required to understand the parameters by which majority of
studies have been evaluated. For the purpose of data collection, The Australian
Bureau of Statistics defines family as the following:
Two or more persons, one of whom is at least 15 years of age, who are related by
blood, marriage (registered or de facto), adoption or fostering, and who are usually
resident in the same household. Separate families are identified for each married or
de facto couple and for each one parent family in the household (ABS, 1992b).
Another term, nuclear family is commonly used and describes the family as male
/father, female/mother and children. Saggers and Sims (2005), state that the

  • 2. The Key Component Of Computer Systems Memory has been the key component of computer systems right from the beginning. The convergence of consumer, communication, and data processing applications combined with the rapid growth of cloud computing services have led to an explosive growth in memory requirement (Baldi et al., 2014; Abaker et al., 2015). At present, DRAM and NAND flash memories together make up 89% of the memory market (Baldi et al., 2014). The success of DRAM and flash has been essentially attributed to their small cell size and scalability. To meet the ever growing demand for modern multi core systems to process data at higher rates, there exist serious challenges that shall limit the dominance of DRAM and flash memories. The unavailability of cost effective scalable lithography for sub 20nm feature size is one of the factors affecting further evolution of such memories (ITRS, 2013). These challenges have spurred great interest in alternative technologies to shape the landscape of future memory systems. Among the competing contenders, phase change memory (PCM) has emerged as one of the most promising memory technologies for the next generation memory systems dues to its salient features of high density, superior scalability, very low leakage power, low latency, good endurance, long retention (over 10 years), large capacity, byte addressability, shock resistivity and better reliability compared to other non volatile memories (Raoux et al., 2008; Lee et al., 2010; Wong et al., 2010; Zilberberg et
  • 3. Pscyhology s paper one will discuss two myths from different cultures. The two myths chosen for this paper are the Genesis creation (Hebrew origin) of the Christian culture, and the Norse culture of Iceland (the Vikings). Both of these creation myths start with an emptiness where conflict and chaos eventually develop. The Genesis crearion is between God, nothing, blackness, emptiness, loneliness, and the need to create something. The Norse creation is between the dark cold realm of Niflheim, within the emptiness of Ginnungagap, and the fiery realm of Muspell, where nothing can grow. There are nine classifications of creation myths, which most include more than one motif. The Genesis cosmogonies applies both ex nihilo, and deus faber motifs. The... Day five, God created every living creature of the seas and every winged bird, blessing them to multiply and fill the waters and the sky with life (Fairchild, 2013, para. 6). Day six, God created the animals to fill the earth (Fairchild, 2013, para. 7). Then God created man in his own image, both male and female, and instructed them to multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1: 27 28). He made them rulers over the earth to cultivate and care for it, and every living thing upon the earth (Genesis 1: 28). On day seven, God said his work was done, so he blessed the seventh day, making it a day of rest. The Norse creation mythdoes not have one maker of good, but many events and elements that emerge from one evil giant. In this story a cow slowly licks away mountains of ice from two beings, creating the god Buri and his goddess wife (Distant Train, Inc., 2011). They had a son named Bor, and his son was named Odin, who became the king of all the gods (Distant Train, Inc., 2011, para. 6). Ymir was an evil, brutal, and cruel giant. One day Odin and the other gods plotted to kill Ymir because they could no longer follow his evil ways. Ymir s body became the earth, his flesh became the land, his blood became the sea, his hair became the trees, and his bones became the mountains (Distant Train, Inc., 2011). Odin and the other gods created the sky from Ymirs skull, which was held up by four pillars (Distant Train, Inc., 2011). Odin created the moon and the sun by
  • 4. The Catholic Church Should Accept That Gay Marriage The Catholic Church should accept that gay marriage is morally acceptable and doesn t contradict their beliefs. Gay marriage has been a topic of controversy ever since the 1970 s. May of 1970 to be exact. Around This time two men named Richard John Jack Baker and James Michael McConnell in Minnesota applied to Hennepin County District Court clerk Gerald Nelson for a marriagelicense. They were denied because they both were men. This issue of two people of the same sex getting married is still a topic of debate to a lot of people even after the U.S. Supreme court made gay marriage legal in all 50 states in 20151. The Catholic Church teaches to treat homosexuals with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. That every act of hate, violence, and persecution toward them is condemned. The Church doesn t view homosexuals no poorly than they do everyone else but it is their views on marriage that are in question. They believe that all sexual activity outside of marriage as a sin and an immoral act. So, if we restrict marriage from homosexuals then if they are in a sexual relationship with another they are in turn an immoral person. Therefore, the Catholic Church should view gay marriage the same as heterosexual marriage, with reverence and sanctity. Marriage, also known as the matrimonial covenant, is to establish a partnership between a man and a woman for the entirety of their lives and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation
  • 5. Catholic Church During The Fifteenth Century The Catholic Church during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries was plagued by internal corruption that caused discontent among its followers. The church beginning in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries increasingly became a system in which aristocrats were able to increase their wealth. In large numbers these aristocrats began to occupy the highest offices available to the Catholic clergy. However, for many aristocrats holding just one high office was not enough to satisfy their desire for increased wealth. This greed led to the practice of pluralism, which was the holding of multiple church offices by one individual. These aristocrats often times would then hire an underqualified individual to work the office for them. This practice,

The use of a panorama displays the vastness of the undiscovered and untainted land before the invasion of the English settlers. In addition, panning creates a smooth transition between the different cuts in the movie. It creates a match cut, where two similar shots are joined together, making the transition hidden from the viewers. In addition, the directors also include an aerial view camera angle in this scene, which gives the impression of a bird flying above the vast landscape. In contrast to the panorama, this camera angle provides a greater distance between the land and the camera while the panorama was much closer. To prevent it, Oedipus goes to Thebes and on his way, Oedipus kills a man who turns out to the king of Thebes, Laius. Thebes is under a curse and the control of a Sphinx, and if Oedipusanswers the riddle of the Sphinx then he can free Thebes and become the king. Oedipus answers the riddle correctly and becomes the savior of Thebes and marries the queen, Jocasta, who was the wife of Laius. Because he marries Jocasta and killed Laius, the prophecy comes true; however, Oedipus does not know that the prophecy is true until later in the play. Teiresias is a blind prophet, who Oedipus asks to come to Thebes to see who the killer of Laius is. After Teiresias comes to visit Oedipus, he then spends the rest of his life in denial of what really happened. In Oedipus the King, Teiresias plays the role of showing Oedipus arrogance and ignorance through foreshadowing and dramatic irony. In the scene where Oedipus forces Teiresias to visit him, Teiresias proves Oedipus arrogance when Teiresias declares, You are the cursed polluter of this land (353). Teiresias reveals how arrogant and ignorant Oedipus actually turns out to be when he says this to Oedipus. Oedipus acts surprised and exclaims, Have you no shame at all? The movement spoke to a new generation of artists, thinkers, poets, and scholars to discuss African American pride, history, social, and cultural attitudes within a form. This was also known as the New Negro Movement, stemming from the 1920s where African Americans sought to educate, shock, and celebrate their own culture. Public inspiration in Harlem became popular due to the works that Aaron Douglas created. In the postmodern era following the Harlem Renaissance, artists such as Faith Ringgold and Michael Ray Charles began to reillustrate ideas from the Harlem Renaissance and presents them as new ideas in several artworks, displaying its resistance to the status quo. To determine if an artwork that stems from the Harlem Renaissance into the 1980s is considered resistance art can be difficult as one can argue both ways. The New Negro movement follows a pattern of resistance in the artworks subject matter or the artist s method of creation. The Harlem Renaissance s creations are a foundation of resistance through the use of subject matter and mediums in response to social movements. The beginning of the movement marked a time of rebirth, pride and unity for Harlem and it s newly free relocated citizens of African Americandescent. • 17. The Similarities Of Beowulf And Sir Gawain And The Green... Beowulf and Sir Gawain and The Green Knight are British mythological stories whose authors are unknown. The stories paint the picture of brave and selfless heroes who put the lives of their fellow men before their own. Though the stories differ in their narration, they are built on the same ideas and principles. This essay compares and contrasts the various themes in these two stories and their development. The issues discussed are the role of women, strength and courage and afterlife. Throughout history, man has struggled with the question What happens when I die? The answer to this question influences a person s beliefs and conduct throughout his life. Both Beowulf and Sir Gawain were greatly influenced by their beliefs about the afterlife or lack thereof. Beowulf was brought up at a place where Pagan beliefs were dominant. Beowulf s community believed that the soul was mortal and the only way a person could be immortal is being remembered by the people left behind. After Scyld Scefing s death, his thanes carried him down to the sea currents, outfitted his boat with all manner of riches, and then set it adrift. (Savage, 169). These words reference a community that did not believe in life after death. The story uses him which implies that they did not believe that the soul outlived the body. This type of belief meant that the only way to gain immortality is ensuring that people had something to remember you for. Beowulf ensured that he did extraordinary deeds so that people would remember him after his death. According to the story, Beowulf is at home in Geatand. He hears of Grende and immediately sets off to confront the monster. Upon reaching Herot, he explains his presence; In my youth, I have set about many great deeds. (Bradey, 86). Killing a Grendel was an extraordinary act of courage and people remembered him for many years due to this deed. Beowulf collected trophies to ensure that the legacy of his conquests would live on for generations. When he fought with the Grendel, he cut its arm, and he stored it in a curved roof. Sir Gawain, on the other hand, believed that the soul was immortal and that he would ascend to heaven after his death. Sir Gawain felt that to gain immortality he had to

An adult understands much more around him than a child does because of the mature, more knowledgeable perception he has. Meanwhile, the child, while not able to fully understand what she sees, often sees more than an adult because of the knowledge hungry, curious perceptionshe has. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, the characters range in gender, age, and intelligence. The narrator herself is a young elementary age child. She is extremely smart for her age, but because of her limited exposure to the world, does not fully understand the seriousness and danger of the story unfolding around her. While the book To Kill a Mockingbird covers many controversial topics, perception and the change certain characters undergo that effects this perception are the key to connecting many of them. One of the main characters in Too Kill a Mockingbird is Jem. He is Scout s older brother. As the story is told, he ages, transitioning from a young boy into a teenager. His perception of the world around him changes vastly as he ages, leaving curiosity behind for a better understanding. At the beginning of the story, the reader is introduced to the unseen character of Boo Radley. According to the adults around town, he is a recluse who never leaves his home. However, Jem, Scout, and their friend Dill see him in a different light. Jem

Just like in Johnny Guitar, Reichardt uses the women to tell the story instead of the men. We see that throughout the movie, the camera stays closer to the women when men talk rather than follow the men. This is showing that women are the main focus and this story is going to be told through their point of view. Since the movie has women at the center of it, Reichardt shows that some women are fearless and resilient. Emily Tetherow, one of the main women, stands her ground against Stephan Meek when he threatens to kill the Indian. She also fixes the Indian s shoe not because she was being nice, but because she wanted him to owe her something. Emily may be brave and strong, but she is definitely not an earth mother. I will explore the development of sound systems from large corporations in America, and the failed experiments with sound beforehand. I will analyse the use of these sound systems by Warner Brothers and Fox, the first filmstudios to adopt sound, and explore how this led to the Big Five film studios also adopting the use of synchronised sound. I am going to examine the reasons why synchronised sound developed from a teleological, contextual, and technology determinist approach. To conclude I will evaluate the impact synchronised sound had on the film industry in America during the 1920s. As Raymond Fielding stated films have never truly been silent films even before the introduction of synchronised sound, there was never any such thing as a silent film at least as far as the audience was concerned (Cameron, 1980, p. 3 4). Films were shown to audience s in vaudevilles and were often imitations of other vaudeville acts. These films were played alongside music, often had a commentator to helps the audience understand their narratives, and used instruments and actors to create sound effects. Since films were never silent to begin with from a teleological approach you could argue that synchronised sound was inevitable in the development of film because it just standardised and mechanised the aural component (Neale, 1985, p. 93) that was already

Estepr Theory Lab The purpose of this lab was to determine the atomic structure of small molecules and ions which we did by drawing Lewis Dot Structures, drawing molecular geometries, and using the VSEPR model on a computer. The VSEPR Theory states that molecular geometries of molecules can be predicted through their number of electronpairs on the central atombecause these electrons will repulse each other as much as they can while still being bound to the central atom. The Lewis Dot Structures and the molecular geometries that we were asked to draw were in order for us to have background knowledge of how each moleculewas shaped before we had to make them on the computer. Most of the angles we calculated in the molecular geometry section of our lab were similar to the ones we predicted in Section II.C. For example, our model for ClF5 was predicted to have less than a 90 degree angle and our calculated result on the computer was 87.52 degrees. Also, the CO32 predicted model was 120 degree angle and we got 119.99 degrees which rounds up to the predicted model. However, some of the angles we calculated did not agree with the predictions we made. Erin needs to balance the demands of her husband Scott and her students. She takes two extra part time jobs to support her education career, which is ridiculous for normal people. However, some people think it is worth being a teacher like that. Yet others hold opposite views about what Erin has done for her students. The relationships Erin forms with her students inspire admiration and deep attachment in readers hearts. It is obvious that home life and social life affect education. Erin s students lived in an environment filled with war and violence. They were born in an unfair society, where anger, struggle, confusion, contradictions, helpless, and corruption filled their days. 1 At first, they said that they didn t know her, she didn t know them. Why should they show their respect for her . They hated her because she was a white person. 2 therefore, they were angry with Erin as she was white. It was understandable for them to behave like that, because there was no socially acceptable way to let them vent their anger. They never listen to her and even betting when Erin would give up. According to Mary Jo Thomas, mental health is defined as a state of successful performance of mental function, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with other people, and the ability to adapt to change and cope with adversity (Thomas). In essence, Thomas describes how the role of mental health and stability supports daily life. One in five adults have a mental health condition, which equates to forty million Americans affected by disorders, ranging from mild to severe (State of Mental). Currently, there is no one cure for treating mental illness; however, there are many different forms of treatment available (PsychiatryAdmits It). Internet Addiction Essay Internet Addiction: Cybersex and Porn Vs. a Dependency on Video Games Abstract Within our modern world, the notion that human beings are distancing themselves farther and farther from inter personal communication cannot be closer to the truth. In today s world, people utilize technology to make things easier, and to better understand the world surrounding the individuals. What ever happened to the relationship between a single person and their peers when knowledge came to be a defining factor? In this research paper, it will be discussing what an addiction to this technology does to a person. It will be investigating the differences and comparisons between two forms of an internet addiction: Cybersex and porn, and a dependency on video games. It will also be considering what these two addictions do and how they affect the lives of both single people, and parents who have adopted responsibilities within their households by declaring themselves part of a family unit. This problem is that there is not a uniform policy in all of schools. There are many arguments for and against having a uniform policy in the school systems. Some would argue that having a uniform would limit kids from their self expression and individuality. While others believe that this is a good ideaso that there is not any labels in our schools. A lot of poorer kids get picked on because their parents do not have the money to buy them the same clothes that others can afford. It is not fair to let some kids get picked on because their parents are not as well off financially as others. Another problem with not having a dress code is that it allows gang members to be recognized in school. I am not saying that this is a big problem at every school but it is at some. Gang members may have some article of clothing or wear something a certain way which would represent their gang. This is something that is noticeable to everyone at school. Some younger schoolmates may see these people and want to join the group because it looks cool and they want to fit into something. Having a dress code would not stop people from being in these gangs but it would take away the visual aspects of the gang. I feel that if we change this in our schools that there would be a loss of self expression to the kids of our schools but the positives would far be greater than the negatives. To best solve this problem would be to have a set uniform for school. This should be very basic so there is little room for self expression. I feel that the uniforms should come from the same store so that all of the people are dressed just alike. If the policy asked for Kakuei pants and a button up shirt then there will still be labels on the clothes. But if they all come from the same store then there could

Populations were growing so rapidly, and people struggled to make enough living for their families. In conjunction, the United States tried to transition into a more modern and efficient world. This resulted in new ideas and inventions, in hopes to make living easier in a changing world. This period of time was known as the Gilded Age. Nineteenth century entrepreneurs are captains of industry based on their ability to boost the economy, the standard of living increased, and the lasting impression they made on America. It also helps with the corporate processes for structural and cultural changes of Blue Cross Blue Shield. Change management helps our organization realize why the change was essential so that we can accept all changes and goals to move forward. Change in our organization is good for all of the employees since it will help them gain new skills and competencies and this in fact is an organizational goal of the company. The first step for our change management strategy is creating urgency. For this change to occur, the whole establishment needs to be on board and really wants it. Developing a sense of urgency around the need for change can trigger the initial motivation to get things moving. Without motivation, individuals will not help and the efforts for the change will not go anywhere (Kotter, 1995, p. 60). Managing change across the board if it is not done correctly can be damaging. The second step is to convince our employees that change is necessary. This frequently takes strong management and noticeable support from important people within our organization. Dealing with change is not enough one will have to lead everyone in this process. Once shaped our change partnership or coalition needs to work together as team and continue to build urgency round the need for change. Our goal is to be successful. Christianity In The 3rd Century The Late Antiquity period marked the beginning of the primacy of Christianity in Europe and the Mediterranean, a primacy that has shaped the cultures of modern day in fundamental ways. Following the Roman Crisis in the 3rd century, the nature of the relationship between The Roman State and The Church (or rather, Churches, perhaps) underwent a profound evolution, eventually resulting in the end of Paganism, Roman power, and the period of Antiquity itself. Some of the most significant aspects of the relationship between Church and State in the fourth to sixth centuries AD were: the Tetrarchy, Constantine s conversion, the rise of Constantinople and the fall of the Western Empire, and the Codex of laws compiled by Theodosius cementing Nicene Christianityas the official religion of the State. The relationship between Church and State during this time provided the cocoon for this metamorphosis of history, and persecution in general was the silk that held it together. The development of this new relationship took centuries and many tears, but would have impacts for millennia. In the mid 3rd century the Roman Empire had all but fallen. A low times interest earned ratio indicates that the company may be unable to make payments on contractual interest that becomes due and this is a great risk factor. d. Using the zero growth valuation model given in Equation 11.12, find the market value of McGraw s equity under each of the three capital structures at the $1,200,000 level of expected EBIT. Current Capital Structure: so, $6.12 / .12 = 55.5 or $55.50 Alternative A at 30%: so, $7.71 / .13 = 59.31 or $59.31 Alternative B at 50%: so, $9.00 / .18 = 50.00 or $50.00 e. On the basis of your findings in parts c and d, which capital structure would you recommend? Why? After evaluating which structure can maximize EPS and keep EPS high during zero growth valuation, I believe alternative A is the best. The reason alternative A is better then both the current structure and alternative B is it raise EPS and still keeps debt at a low percentage. This allows the company to have more financial leverage, not be a risk for falling behind at a time interest ratio of 4.00, and give a decent return to shareholders. The current option is too much equity financing with a smaller EPS and

Inequality among people based on gender, sex, religion, race, color, ethnicity was in our society for over a prolonged period but was not dealt with. It s basically come into play when people try to consider their beliefs and viewpoints as superior to other rather than respecting everyone s belief. People often try to make certain notions of what normal is and then try to look at situations using that criterion that is not correct. Everyone is unique in their own way and have diverse ways to look at something. Eleanor has no home in its true meaning, so important for a social human being. Her family has been a wreck; her mother has had her for a personal tender for eleven years, having deprived the girl of her personal life, and in the meantime making her life as miserable as can be. Eleanor s sister and her family have never considered Eleanor a grown up, never offered her support or understanding, so she has never really felt attachment towards them. Readers see Eleanor as a person without her family to rely on and actually without her home, for she keeps repeating that all she has is her suitcase of clothes and a carton at the back seat of her car, stolen from her sister (Jackson 197). Eleanor s search for the home continues through the story, and Shirley Jackson emphasizes on it, especially in the beginning, describing Eleanor s fantasies about her living in different houses, which she sees along the road. Every mansion has its atmosphere, and Eleanor daydreams about what her life could have been in each of them among the oleanders, or in the house with lions at the porch, or in a tiny cottage with the garden (Jackson 13 17). The young woman longs for having some place to go, but life seems blurry and uncertain at present, so Eleanor prefers to catch the moment. Her dreams of a perfect home develop when she tells Theodora about the imaginary little apartment. The debate about the age of the earth is ultimately a question of whose word we are going to trust, the all knowing truthful Creator who has given us His book (the Bible) or scientists who give us their books that contain maybe errors and therefore are frequently revised. If you firmly trust and carefully read the Bible and become informed on creationist interpretations of the geological record, you can
  • 53. Classification Essay Classification of Exercise Partners Every woman s magazine I ve ever read gives its readers advice on exercising, and one of the most common tips I ve seen is to find a partner to exercise with. In my experience, however, having an exercise partner is not a good idea. I have encountered five types of exercise partners, and I have concluded that it is definitely best to exercise alone. The Drill Sergeant My ex boyfriend represents the Drill Sergeant. He is one of those people whose motto is No pain, no gain. Of course, he assumes that everyone else follows this decree as well. He will try to push you to the limit every time you exercise with him, and can become nasty if you give up before he thinks you should. I refused to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She could not understand that few people need or even want constructive criticism. Needless to say, we only ran together on a few occasions. I can only stand so much optimism when I m gasping for breath and sweating profusely. The Competitor A high school teammate of mine was The Competitor. Her outlook on life was to be the best at whatever she did, and exercising was no exception. She seemed perfectly sweet, but her competitive streak emerged one afternoon. Our leisurely jog gradually turned to a run, and then a full sprint. I glanced over at her and noticed the pained expression on her face. I knew she was only pushing herself to beat me: she felt she had to run faster and further. You would think that since I knew this was the case, I would have given up and let her get her dose of superiority. I didn t. I was determined to teach her a lesson. I had been jogging regularly by that that time, and was in pretty good shape. She gave up first, and The Competitor cannot stand to lose. We remained friends, of course, but never ran together again. Her bruised pride and my sore muscles saw to that. The Natural Athlete A person doesn t fall into the category of The Natural Athlete because of attitudes or actions, but because of superior ability. My cousin was the Natural Athlete. She didn t spend much time exercising but was still in good shape. This alone was enough to make me almost hate her. I had been working out faithfully for quite some time and felt
  • 54. Romeo And Juliet Alternate Ending Essay He was finally free and on his own. Lance walked up the rough cement steps, carrying the last box of his things into his new apartment. He pushed into the already propped open door and stepped into the open space of his new home. Hunk and Shiro were already inside. That the last one? Hunk asked, as Lance set down the heavy box at his feet. Sure is, I m finally moved in! We still need to unpack all this stuff, Lance, Shiro said, leaning on the clean off white wall across from Lance. No problem, fellas, I got this. Okay, but we re having dinner at my place at like six. I m making green enchiladas casserole. Holy shit man I love that, you know I ll be there, Lance said grinning. Alright, we ll leave you to it then; you know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One day this kind of emo guy in his literature class overheard him asking a hot girl after class if she wanted to be his Juliet. The guy told Lance he should actually read the play before he said things like that because Juliet committed suicide in the end. The black haired guy then walked past him leaving a used copy of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet on his desk. I want it back after you re done, he had muttered. Though Lance was a little upset that this mullet head had messed up his mojo, he gave it a shot. He finished it in three days (though he could have finished it in one, he was just a little busy that week), and felt disgusted with himself and cringed at all the terrible pick up lines he had said. He thought it was messed up asking a girl to be his Juliet. Though it kind of made sense since he had just met her and all. Lance ended up really liking the play, though he couldn t understand why people thought it was the most romantic thing ever. Probably because they never actually read it, Lance thought. Like... he did... oh. The next day after class he walked up to the edgy kid s desk and returned the

They have short legs unlike the Clydesdale, but have the leg feathering similar to the Clydesdale. The Belgians are usually seventeen hands tall, so similar to the Clydesdale. The colors this breed is generally found in are chestnut and roan (Graphiq n.p.). The Shire horse breed is also similar to the Clydesdale breed. It is also a type of draft horse breed. One of the big differences is that the Shire horse breed stands approximately 21.2 hands tall. This is basically towering over the Clydesdale, which is impressively tall. The Shire horses have slightly arched necks, but not as arched as the Clydesdale. This neck makes them less attractive when pulling a cart. The Shires also have large eyes and they are wide chested. The Shire breed is usually seen in the colors of bay, black, chestnut, gray, and roan (Graphiq

Changing Face Of The Australian Family Over the last five decades there have been many studies, reports, papers written and statistics collected regarding the changing face of the Australian Family. Much of this information focuses on living arrangements, relationships such as marriage and de facto, one parent households, working mothers and fertility rates to name a few. There are several factors that have caused variance to the structure and values of the Australian familyincluding the increase of divorce, remarriage, same sex relationships, one parent families and blended families. This paper will look at the extent of change that the Australian family has undergone in the last 50 years, focusing on two key issues, firstly the impact of women entering the workforce and secondly the decrease of fertility rates. A definition of family is required to understand the parameters by which majority of studies have been evaluated. For the purpose of data collection, The Australian Bureau of Statistics defines family as the following: Two or more persons, one of whom is at least 15 years of age, who are related by blood, marriage (registered or de facto), adoption or fostering, and who are usually resident in the same household. Separate families are identified for each married or de facto couple and for each one parent family in the household (ABS, 1992b). Another term, nuclear family is commonly used and describes the family as male /father, female/mother and children. Saggers and Sims (2005), state that the
