Essay On Computer Technology
Writing an essay on the topic of computer technology can be both challenging and rewarding.
On one hand, the vastness of the subject provides numerous aspects to explore, from the
historical development of computers to the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. On the
other hand, the sheer volume of information available can be overwhelming, making it difficult
to decide what to include and what to omit.
Researching for such an essay requires navigating through a sea of technical jargon,
understanding complex concepts, and staying updated on the rapidly evolving field. Moreover,
finding reliable sources to support arguments and ideas is crucial to ensure the essay's credibility.
The challenge lies in striking the right balance between technical details and readability, catering
to both experts and a general audience.
Crafting a cohesive narrative that flows seamlessly from one point to another can also be a
daunting task. It requires not only a deep understanding of the subject but also the ability to
present information in a logical and engaging manner. A successful essay on computer
technology should not only inform the reader but also inspire curiosity and interest in the topic.
Additionally, addressing the ethical implications and societal impact of computer technology
adds another layer of complexity. Navigating through the ethical dilemmas surrounding issues
like privacy, security, and job displacement requires a thoughtful and nuanced approach.
In conclusion, writing an essay on computer technology demands a blend of technical expertise,
research skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and compelling way. It is
a challenging but intellectually stimulating task that requires dedication and a genuine passion for
the subject.

Exploring the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness
In the ongoing strive to better understand the mechanism of consciousness, the
possibility of discovering the neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs) is arguably
the leading agenda in its scientific research. Although the question of whether
consciousness can be fully reduced to its neural correlates remains debatable, it is still
credible that whenever an appropriate brain process occurs, the associated subjective
experience follows (Chalmers, 2013). Thus, this essay will demonstrate that it is
plausible that the minimal brain processes necessary for a conscious percept can be
experimentally narrowed down to a smaller coalition of neurons. Understandably, the
complexity of the cortical system that is yet to be fully deciphered, along with the
technological difficulties in obtaining essential data has hindered the search for the
NCCs and have lead some to doubt the possibility of ever locating it (Fins Plum,
2004). It is also likely that there are numerous NCCs, each associated with different
modalities, which complicates the task further (Chalmers, 2013). For the purpose of
this essay, the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness
are discussed in particular. This essay aims to define the foundational concepts of the
science of consciousness, outline the experimental projects in finding the neural
correlates of visual consciousness, and address

The Holy Spirit plays a very vital role in the lives of each and every believer; He
can strengthen us with a strength that we cannot even begin to muster up in
ourselves. He can bring us joy that we cannot even begin to find in the things of
this world. He can bring peace to our lives more than anything that we can ever find
on this earth. The Holy Spirit which is primarily an energizing process, is also a
revealing, refining, consuming, illuminating process, and one by which we are made
to glow with love to God, and love to man, and love to souls.
SIGNS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST As we look into
the scriptures of Acts 2:1 11 we see the things that took place on the day of
Pentecost. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one
accord and in one place. (Acts 1:1) Not only had the people began to gather
together in one place but they were all in one accord and all were there for the
same purpose all agreeing on the same thing. And suddenly there came a sound
from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were
sitting. (Acts 2:2) Imagine sitting in a room when suddenly a rushing mighty wind
fills the room. When we think of the force of hurricane type winds entering the room
in which we are sitting we would not be able to even fathom how it would be.

The offerings or help that the village people made to their so called brothers fighting
for their Land was a voluntary act but the bitter realization of the truth and the loss
of the intitial romantic fervour have made them feel that the rebels are nothing
more than extortionist. The starting of the story aptly presents the feelings of the
poor villagers: There was an uneasy quiet in the village: the underground
extortionist had come and gone and along with them the hard earned cash the
vilagers had earned by digging the first alignment for a motorable road to their
village. (54) The poor villagers were fed up of the viloence wreaked by the
overground as well as the underground army. They succumbed to the pressure and
gave up without any resistence. The following lines reflect the fear and the
helplessness of the villagers: they knew that these fierce looking goons from the
forest had come to the village at night with only one purpose: to rob them in the
name of underground government. Resisting them was of no use: they carried guns
and the consequences of any conflict would only mean retaliation. (55) At one point
of the story, when a poor man appealed to the leader of the rebel group to excuse
him this time as he
Childhood Obesity Research
Obesity in the United States Obesity is an ongoing epidemic characterized by
excessive amounts of body fat that may cause other health related issues.
Approximately 1 in 3 U.S. adults and 1 in 6 children and adolescents are obese
(Reducing Obesity, n.d.). The rates of obesity have increased throughout the United
States in people of all racial groups and genders. Obesity does not discriminate on
ethnicity or gender. However, research shows that Black and Latino populations have
substantially higher rates of obesity than do White populations (The State of Obesity,
2014). Advocacy Programs for Childhood Obesity There has been a significant

One of the attributes that made this program effective was its focus on correcting the
common misconceptions of childhood obesity and educating parents on the
differences. The study utilized surveys as communication tools throughout the
program that better aided the study in what area of education was needed the most.
This study was designed for headstart aged children, but results of this study could
also be used by community organizations looking to create locally meaningful and
relevant campaigns targeting childhood obesity (GreenMills, Davison, Gordon, Li,

implementing strategies to encourage healthy eating and activity choices. The article
describes the school based intervention program aimed at reducing the percentage of
adolescent obesity. The program included increased availability of fruits, vegetables,
and dairy products for meal selections while limiting the availability of sugary drinks
and snacks. The students were allowed extra time during the school day for physical
activity along with group time and additional nutritional education. The program also
Introduction to Oboe and Bassoon
An Introduction Oboe and Bassoon By Marie A Rogers 300005290 Woodwind
Techniques 1 1010 1100 Mr. Robinson The oboe is a soprano range double reed
instrument with a length of 62cm. Its wooden tube is distinguished by a conical
bore that expands into a flaring bell. The modern oboe s range extends from the B
flat below middle C (b3 flat) to about 3 octaves higher (A6). The oboe has a very
narrow conical bore. It is played with a double reed consisting of two thin blades of
cane tied together on a small metal tube called a staple, which is inserted into the
reed socket at the top of the instrument. Traditionally made from African Blackwood,
also called grenadilla, the instrument is made in 3 parts. The top joint has 10 or 11...

The modern Bassoon exists in two distinct primary forms the Buffett system and
the Heckle system. Most of the world plays the Heckle system, while the Buffett
system is primarily in France, Belgium, and parts of Latin America. Bassoon
techniques The Bassoon is held diagonally in front of the player, but unlike the
flute, oboe, and clarinet, it cannot be supported by the players hands alone. Some
means of additional support is required; the most common ones used are a neck
strap or shoulder harness attached to the top of the boot joint, a seat strap attached
to the base of the boot joint which is laid across the chair seat prior to sitting down.
To stabilize the right hand, many Bassoonists use an adjustable common shaped
apparatus called a crutch , which mounts to the boot joint. An aspect of Bassoon
playing technique called flicking involves the momentary pressing or flicking of
the high A, C, and D keys by the left hand thumb at the beginning of certain note in
the middle octave in order to eliminate the cracking or brief microphonic that
happens without the use of the key. Bassoon Reeds Bassoon reeds, made of Arundo
donax cane, are often made by the players themselves, although beginner bassoonists
tend to buy their reeds from professional reed makers or use reeds made by their
teachers. Reeds begin with a length of tube cane that is split into three or four pieces.
The cane is then trimmed and gouged to the desired thickness,

Introduction
Organisms cannot rely entirely on spontaneous reactions to produce all the materials
necessary for life. These reactions occur much too slowly. To produce these materials
quicker, cells rely on enzymes, biological catalysts, to speed up these reactions
without being consumed. (General Biology I, Martineau, Dean, Gilliland,
Soderstrom, Lab Manual, 2017, 43). To produce these materials quicker, the
activation reaction much be lowered, a very important part of this lab. Each enzyme
acts on a specific molecule, or set of molecules, called a substrate (43). The enzyme

Experiment 1: Constructing a Standard Curve
The students first prepared to construct a standard curve. To do this, each group
measured the absorbance of starch solutions of unknown concentrations treated with
IKI (General Biology I, Martineau, Dean, Gilliland, Soderstrom, Lab Manual, 2017,
45). The absorbance values were determined for a range of samples, and plotted on a
graph. A line of best fit was then used as a reference to determine the amount of starch
present in unknown samples.
Using the yellow tube, which included everything but starch, as the blank, each group
zeroed their spectrophotometer. This was done so that any absorbance observed
depends only on the amount of starch present, not on any other reagents (buffer, IKI).
To zero the spectrophotometer, the wavelength was first set at 580nm, using knob 3
(45). Next, the groups made sure that the light next to transmittance was lit, and the
chamber to be tightly closed. Having the chamber empty closed tightly provides
reference for the darkest condition possible. Using knob 1, the transmittance was
turned until it read 0.0 (45). Before the groups used their blank test tube to zero the
spectrophotometer, each needed to wipe the tube with kimwipes to ensure a clean
reading. Turning knob 2, each group was then instructed to zero the absorbance,
0.000. Upon removing the blank, each trial was inserted into the chamber (46). The
The Rise and Fall of Dynasties in China
The rise and fall of dynasties in china
Introduction
Rhoads Murphey describes the history of China history is on the succession of
dynasties that ruled it over a period of time until around 1912 when Republic of
china was formed before rising to the current People s Republic of China was formed
in 1949. In China, a dynasty was made up of Kings or emperors that came from the
same family. They ruled in succession where a king could be inherited by his son or
his immediate relatives. Although china s history is majorly regarded on the basis of
dynastic ruling, other small kingdoms were established that ruled different part of
china. For example, in 200AD, the fall of great Han dynasty triggered formation of
smaller kingdoms all over the china which were later united by a short lived Sui
Dynasty that reigned between 580 and 618 AD.
In Murphey s book varied dynasties have been described how they came to power
and how they eventually collapsed. From his book, various reasons for dynastic
rise in china can be summarized as follows; most dynasties were founded through
force and especially when there was disorder in a given dynasty. This could even
break into a fight and those who won could take up and rule for a period of time
waiting to be overthrown by other powerful people. Dynasty could also rise as a
result of leaders who were very powerful and vigourous. These leaders could create
their own stable and prosperous kingdom that secured it territories and people.
Why the Bolsheviks Won the Civil War Essay
Why the Bolsheviks Won the Civil War The Russian Civil War raged from 1918 until
the start of 1921. During this time the Bolsheviks faced massive opposition to their
rule in the form of the White Armies, led by the former officers of the Tsarist state,
and also from intervention by the forces of foreign countries. The Bolsheviks were
surrounded, and often outnumbered by their opponents, and had no experienced
military commanders. At times, their situation seemed hopeless. Yet, by the start of
1921, the Bolsheviks had defeated their enemies and gained a complete victory. The
establishment of Communism in Russiawent ahead unchallenged.

No one person was in charge of the White forces, whereas the Bolsheviks had Lenin,
the Whites had several rival people, such as Yudenich, Wrangel, Kolchak and Denikin
vying for control. They were all ambitious men and each was determined to take
control of Russia for himself. As a result, there was virtually no co operation between
the various White Armies. They had to move their forces and supplies over huge
distances, making it difficult to maintain effective control. The lack of effective
railways was an added complication to the existing communication difficulties
between them. Whereas the Whites were disunited, the Bolsheviks maintained
absolute unity through the Terror. It was this skilled leadership of the Red Army
,
paired with the divided leadership of the White Forces that was a key factor in the
Bolsheviks winning the Civil War.
A second reason why the Bolsheviks won the Civil War was geography. In 1918,
the start of the Civil War, the Bolsheviks had the advantage of holding a central
position between Petrograd and Moscow (including their factories.) Most of Russia
s railways were in this area, making communication between various battlefronts
much easier, Trotsky was able to move troops and supplies rapidly to areas under
attack. The Red Armies were in possession

these. Rushed in from a lab in New Jersey, the experimental drug was immediately

Possible solutions for resistance in the future are to find new antibiotics in niches
besides soil, such as the marine environment as globalization and deforestation
make new soil discoveries harder each day. Educating people about resistance to
prevent misuse is important as well because not everybody knows about the growing
resistance problem. If people know about the resistance problem, proper use of
antibiotics would increase. Antibiotics today are easily accessible without the need of
prescription in most cases, leading to the wrong self diagnosis based on observation
instead of actual tests. Creating more regulations to ensure prescriptions and correct
diagnosis will help with the misuse of antibiotics. Stopping their use as growth
hormones in agriculture will also help because the antibiotics from the plants and
animals are able to unnecessarily get into a person s body, which promotes more
antibiotic resistance since the dosages are not consistent. As the antibiotics pass
through the livestock and people, they contaminate the water system. The antibiotic
resistance today does not necessarily mean the end of antibiotics as long as

During a journey a person will come across a crisis or it will be an escape from a
struggle or an external conflict. In the two short stories, A Good Man Is Hard To
Find by Flannery O Connor and Women Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros, the
protagonists are faced with similar crisis of limitations. On the contrary, The
Swimmer by John Cheeverdescribes the protagonistto be someone that has no
limitations, which led him to abuse his freedom. Although these three tales show
differences they do show a similarity in their ignorance. These two femaleauthors
focus on the role women set into a sexist environment where they are not seen as
equal upon the male figures. However, the only male protagonist, fictionalized by
Cheever, is not faced with the same complications as the female characters. As
these protagonist face their problems, begin to realize their fate and their place in

1.Reconnaissance
This is the phase of the cyber operation in which the cyberwarriors gather information
about potentials targets. This operation can be subdivided in three sub phases. The
war planners provides objectives, targeters search for potential target that might
achieve the war objectives, intelligence professionals gather information about the
target s weaknesses that might be exploited in an attack (Chapple Seidl, 2015, p. 5.2).
Passive Reconnaissance is a method used by APTs to indirectly gain access to their
targets information. This technique consist of collecting pieces of information from
different sources such as the Internet, trashes, to build a profile that will provide them
the first step toward their reconnaissance without raising any suspicions.
In our scenario, the company s profile being available on Internet including name,

The s Ontological Proof For The Existence Of God Essay
In his Proslogion, written in 1077 1078, St. Anselm of Canterbury, introduced the
first formulation of his ontological proof for the existence of God. In an effort to
gain a deeper knowledge and acquaintance with his creator, Anselm set out to
logically deduce God s existence from the very definition of God. In the Proslogion he
writes, God is that which a greater cannot be thought. Whoever understands this
properly, understands that this being exists in such a way that he cannot, even in
thought, fail to exist (Anselm, 101). Anselm uses this definition as the fundamental
argument for his proof of God s existence. He argues that if the fool or disbeliever
denies the existence of God, he is still capable of understanding the definition of God,
thereby God exists in his mind as a mental image but not necessarily in reality.
However, since the very definition of God is that which a greater cannot be thought
and surely what exists both mentally and in reality must be greater than what exists
only mentally, then God s existence in the fool s thoughts must inevitably imply his
existence in reality, as well. If that s not true, than the thought the fool has cannot be
of God, since if that thought only exists mentally then there must be something
greater than it is and that goes against Anselm s definition. Ultimately, according to
Anselm s definition, it would be self contradictory to deny the existence of such a
being. About two centuries after the writing of

Students With Autism Spectrum Disorder
Assignment 2
Part A.
Classroom engagement is always a key issue to rookie teachers. There are various
types of learner exist within a classroom and they each need to be treated differently.
As teachers, we need to raise our awareness of the attributes, competencies and
challenges for each of those different learner types in order to engage them in the
class. This portfolio will introduce Autism Spectrum Disorder, Hearing Impairment,
Gifted and Talented Students and Challenging Behaviour in the classroom as
example of various learner types and discuss learning competencies and challenges,
and then provide possible engagement strategies for each of those learner types. Part
B of this portfolio will discuss four teaching strategies that are likely to engage
students with autism spectrum disorder.
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that will impair
individuals communication ability and social interaction with others. Individuals
with autism spectrum disorder will more lilely to have restricted and repetitive
behaviour or interest (Dawson Osterling, 1997). Dawson Osterling then further added
that students with autism spectrum disorder are often more passive and more likely
to be disengaged than their peers. Even when engaged, those students often engage to
object rather than people or surrounding enviroment (eg. class). This means students
with autism spectrum disorder will have significantly less interaction with

My Goal As An Educator
It is my goal as an educator to guide students and help them to explore, follow, and
achieve their dreams to the fullest. I also would like students to know and realize
that learning is an ongoing process that never ends. It is important to teach students
about respecting others and to treat others how they would like to be treated. I
believe that my future students should be in a safe environment, which will improve
their social, intellectual, and emotional skills. Students spend much more time in the
classroom than they spend at home participating in eight hours of learning,
socializing, and remolding themselves around the classroom. Therefore they should
feel like school is a safe environment to be in. Teachers should let students feel
comfortable in relating to them as a friend, motherly figure, and as a tool to lead
them to success. Students are from diverse cultures and ethnicity; they should
understand and respect each other customs and ways of life. It is my responsibility
as a teacher to instill in them these values. This will then help them to develop and
become open minded to others. It is also very vital that a teacher provides many
different kinds of learning approaches/techniques to a child, so that they don t
become fixated or trapped in their most comfortable learning style. Learning has been
proven to be most successful when students can relate the information that has been
given to them to real life experiences. It is highly important to incorporate

The state of Texas may have experienced a great deal of short comings in the pass,

to impact Texas government was known for her big heart and humorist personality. A

Ann Richards was a democratic, born September 1, 1933 in Lacy Lakeview, Texas.
She was an American politician with a very extensive background. In 1976 she

the post on the Santa Fe Trail was occasioned by a significant shift in the pattern in
the fur trade. Further south the Mexican government would not have allowed a so
blatant intrusion by foreign fur companies. The reason being is that the trappers who

How Did Nikola Tesla Changed America s History
There are some famous inventors that I think have changed America s history because
of their inventions. Eli Whitney inventing the cotton gin, Nikola Tesla inventing the
first AC motor, and Elijah McCoy inventing the lubricator for steam engines.
Nikola Tesla was originally from Croatia but then moved to the United States in
1884. He there created the first ever Air Conditioner motor in New York also where
he met Thomas Edison his future rival. One day Nikola Teslawas walking somewhere
with sand and then his idea popped into his head. He was thinking about a brushless
Air Conditioner making the first sketches of its rotating electromagnets in the sand.
During 1887 and 1888 Nikola Tesla s work caught the attention of George

During his early life the McCoys were fugitive slaves who had escaped from
Kentucky to Canada by the Underground Railroad. In 1847, he large family
returned to the United States, settling in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Beginning at a young
age, Elijah McCoy showed a strong interest in mechanics. Since he showed such a
strong interest his parents arranged for him to travel to Scotland at the age of 15
for an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. He returned to Michigan after
becoming certified as a mechanical engineer. Although due to racial barriers Elijah
McCoy was unable to find work as an engineer in the United States. The skilled
professional positions were not available for African Americans at the time,
regardless of their training or background. Elijah McCoy accepted the position of a
fireman and oiler for the Michigan Central Railroad. That was the line of work that
he developed his first major inventions. After studying the inefficiencies inherent in
the existing system of oiling axles, Elijah McCoy invented a lubricating cup that
distributed oil evenly over the engine s moving parts. Elijah McCoy continued to
refine his devices, receiving nearly 60 patents over the course of his life. Although
most of his inventions dealt with lubrication systems, he also developed designs for
an ironing board, a lawn sprinkler, and other machines. In 1920, toward the end of
his life, McCoy formed the Elijah

Hillsboro Monkey Trial
A man is on trial! A man who wishes to think! In a small town drenched in summer
heat, a young man named Bert Cates is put on trial for questioning the bible s
teachings, and introducing the school children to Darwinism. Though the genesis of
this play is the 1925 monkey trial, the setting is classified as not too long ago. This
being because the right to think is always on trial in one way or another. The right to
think is important because it allows society to prosper, sciences and philosophies to
expand, and supports diversity of opinions .
Free thinking allows society to prosper. In Hillsboro free thought is considered a
criminal offense, and can cause high tensions. This tension can cause people who
were once neighborly and civil, to turn on each other. While Brady holds a
religious meeting, he speaks harshly of cates, and the people of the town are quick
to agree. pointing a finger towards the jail. Do we curse the man who denies the
word? All yes! (Lawrence page 65)

who allowed him to teach their children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all have conformed to the pattern that society accepts the most, religious. And
further than that, catholic, which at this time was the most widely accepted religion.
This shows the readers how one sided Hillsboro s opinions were. Some will argue
that this can t be true because Cates has an opinion of religion. Tell em what your
father really said! That Tommy s soul was damned withering in hell fire! (Lawrence
77) Yes cates was raised in social conformityand still managed to form an opinion.
The flaw in this logic is that bert only formed his opinion after reading someone
else s. Darwin was not raised in a place like hillsboro, he was free to think. Berts
opinion is just the opinion of someone else. Though he agrees with it in hindsight, he
was unable to form it himself in
Law Enforcement Agency Analysis
Unfortunately, no policy or enforcement mechanism exists to segregate data housed
on the same physical server in the event of governmental interception of data
(Subashini and Kavitha 2011). The result is that Law Enforcement Agency (LEA)
investigations often include innocent, co located data. In most cases, the owner of the
data does not know their data is co located with suspected criminal data, or that the
data is part of an investigation.
The segregation of data is also critical to access controls applied to the data. To
insure successful access controls in a cloud environment, with co located data, the
ability to determine who can access the data must reside with the client, in both
enterprise and private user applications (Subashini and Kavitha 2011). Security and
privacy of cloud based data is only effective through agreed upon application of policy
and governance against the underlying technology architecture.
The compulsion of third party vendors to turn over data to law enforcement, or
otherwise be complicit in interception or storage of data is a direct threat to the
integrity, security, and privacy of data stored by service providers (Subashini and
Kavitha 2011). Understanding the technical component of data security and privacy

Mexico s Drug And Human Trafficking
Human and Drug trafficking are huge global problems and it affects millions or
people, even if they do not know about it. Mexico s drug and human trafficking are
huge issues, and people tend to different methods in how the problems should be
solved. However, the main reason in why these two things are such an issue is all
because of money. They both bring in major profits and benefits into Mexico and
those in charge of this industry, it also brings in revenue into the United Statesfor
those that a part of these two cartels. Both the Drug Carteland those in power of the
Human Traffickingconcerns, keep this things going because of the politicians that
are placed into power of their regions. Many people keep saying that they should
fix what is happening; however the problem is much more difficult than that.
Many people in the United States keep stating that the issue is only a Mexican
problem. Mexico s government has stated that there primary goal is get rid of the
drug cartels in their country and that it is the United States hope to prevent the drug
cartels from coming into their country. Drug trafficking can also be explained as
the war on drug which was coined by Richard Nixon (Calderon, 1). This coin is an
important matter to know because it explains how people actually feel about these
things. However, there are many other countries that do smuggle in drugs into
America; but due to the fact Mexico and America share a border the problem is
much bigger. Especially

Vinson Synan is a Christian scholar and Dean Emeritus at Regent University in

shaped the Pentecostalism in America and worldwide. Synan points out specific
characteristics that clarifies the origins of the Pentecostal church in America. His
main purpose is to present a historical analysis of the Pentecostalismand its roots.
According to him, the reader needs to be aware of the Pentecostal traditions
developed during the twentieth century in order to understand Pentecostalism as a
major Christian tradition. The problem is that traditional Christians do not consider
Pentecostalism as significant as should be. Synan s thesis is that the Pentecostalism...

points out the revival meeting occurred in Los Angeles at the beginning of the

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Queen Elizabeth In 1588
In August of 1588, Queen Elizabeth I prepares her troops for the oncoming invasion
by the Spanish army. As she rallies her troops with a triumphant speech. Because the
Queen was faced with the downgrading of women at the time politically and
domestically, Queen Elizabeth must use smart and bold strategies throughout her
speech. In order to inspire the troops to be the most successful in the protection of
their home empire. In her speech, the Queenuses strategies such as: using a masculine
tone, using strong pronouns, and using a specific structure in her ideas in order to
persuade her audience (her troops).
The first strategy Queen Elizabeth uses in her speech is how she uses strong
pronouns to keep a powerful and controlling point. There are many instances
throughout her speech she puts emphasis on the idea of togetherness. For example,
words like we, us, and our appear in the text when she states we have been
persuaded by some that are careful of our safety, to take heed how we commit
ourselves to armed multitudes, for fear of treatery. These words show the power in
the loyalty she has to her people and the loyalty her people have for their Queen and
empire. This loyalty is important because the troops should feel a bond and a
passion, to understand the bigger picture in what they are fighting for. She then
transitions into individual pronouns towards the end of the speech. Words like I, my,
myself, and my, express a powerful tone in her speech. For example she states
Soft Rock Influence
The thing I find most crazy is how much influence political, economic, and civil
difficulties had on rock music. The five major rock styles came to be because of
the violence during protest and economic troubles of a post war United States.
Soft rock was created for people how were getting tired of the violence of the
protest at the time. With the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the shooting
of four Kent State University student protesters. Soft rock has themes of life, love,
and relationships. Some of the most influential musicians of soft rock were James
Tylor, Carly Simon, and Carole King. Soft rock was influenced by folk protest song
and being tired of the violence, and glam rock was influenced by the world s

The musicians of glam rock wore extremely glittery and loud costumes. Themes of
glam rock were sexuality, masculinity, and femininity. The big singers of glam rock

time; Heavy metal music was brought to be by the angry and frustrated people of
the time. Heavy metal is extremely loud with screaming vocals. Famous heavy
metal bands were Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. These two bands where not
loved by the music media, and were often characterized as satanic. Black Sabbath
was named the princes of darkness. I listen to all types of music, but I really like

The And Law Enforcement Officers
Over the past couple years there has been an ever increasing amount of reports
against police using excessive force when the situation does not call for it. Every
time a case like this happens hundreds if not thousands of dollars are wasted to
correct the situation. This is due to the conflicting statements between eyewitnesses
and law enforcement officers. Forensic investigations are needed to understand what
most likely occurred. When we are little we were told to always trust policeofficers
because they are there to look out for us, but not every police officerhas that same
idea. The officers are people and people are flawed by nature but we hold them to a
higher standard and that their word is worth more than the average citizen in a
court of law. This leads to officers being considered correct until valid conflicting
evidence is introduced where the officer is shown in the wrong. Thankfully modern
advances in technology, specifically smart phones, are causing new evidence to be
provided to be in video format more often. Body cameras are one of the proposed
solutions to help solve this ongoing conflict due to their easy implementation but the
cameras have hidden costs that are not immediately thought of. Overall the cost of
using cameras is outweighed by the social benefits gained from implementing them.

A It resembles to the regular RTW in the most general traits of traveling abroad and
discovering new lands and cultures but is mainly directed towards the fanciest of
available options. According to Google Dictionaries, flashpacking has an association
of more disposable income while traveling and has been defined simply as
backpacking with a bigger budget. So it s targeted towards the high budget housing,

Jean Jacques Rousseau Essay
Jean Jacques Rousseau I was born to a family whose morals distinguished them
from the people. (Josephson 9) Jean Jacques Rousseau was born in Geneva,
Switzerland on June 28, 1712. He became the son of Isaac Rousseau, a plebian
class watchmaker, and Suzanne Bernard, the daughter of a minister who died
shortly after giving birth to him. Rousseau s baptism ceremony was a traditional
one held at St. Peter s Cathedral on July 4, 1712 by the reverend senebies. He had
an elder brother who had a loose character , but Rousseau loved him anyway. At an
early age, Rousseau found a love for reading. His mother had an inheritance of some
money and many romantic books and novels, so those are the first that he read. He

He was next placed as an engraver in April 1725. His master was also a violent
man like his father who fed Rousseau poorly and often treated him harshly. The
young boy developed a menial frame of mind. This apprenticeship lasted for about
four years with the first half consisting of stealing and a lackey spirit, and the
following half Rousseau s love for reading was revived. The more miserable he
became with his master, the more he read. He would play with the other boys on
free days, usually Sundays, and venture out of the city gates. He often came home
just before the drawbridge closed at sundown and twice had to sleep outside the
city. On day on March 14, 1728, Rousseau was late and saw the drawbridge closing.
He yelled to his uncle he would not be returning to his master. Bernard did not try
to stop the boy, who was just over sixteen when he decided to make his journey.
After wandering for several days he fell upon the Roman Catholic priests at
Consignon in Savoy. He was then turned over to Madame de Warens at Annecy,
who sent him to a school in Turin. He wandered several places but in 1730
eventually returned to Madame de Warens. He spent eight years in her household and
it was there that he fully developed his love and taste for music, the enjoyment of
nature, his passion for reading the English,
What It Means To Be Gay
The music you re listening to is gay! exclaims my best friend.
Feeling embarrassed, I turned the music off. I didn t think my music was lame.
It was on the radio. It s not really the usual music I listen to. Do you see the
problem with the usage of the word gay here? Gay used to mean bright and happy
but now it has become an insult. The term today literally refers to a male homosexual
person. After many years the word gay has changed its meaning and its meaning
continues to constantly change today. When gay first came to be a word it meant
bright or showy, like a rainbow. The word presently and popularly is used to as an
insult but the word s actual meaning refers to a homosexual male. Presently, people
use gay in two different meanings, some use it literally and some use it as profanity
or insult. Unfortunately, as a society by using a term in this way it shows that as a

Gay became a word in the twelfth century in England. Again the original meaning
behind gay was, something joyful or full of mirth. Flash forward to five centuries
later, in the 17th century, gay refered to being good or bad. In the Oxford dictionary
during the 17th century gay meant addicted to pleasures and dissipations. Often
euphemistically: Of loose and immoral life . Moving on to the nineteenth century, the
word gay developed an even more negative meaning. It became known as female
prostitute and a male that had an abundance of sex. Even with the word changing
meanings and definitions, it was still not a word that people used regularly to
describe prostitutes. Further into time, gay became to mean a male having sexual
intercourse with another male. In 1995 gays new definition was put into the
dictionary. This definition had lasted until present time. While the word has changed
its meaning, it is most commonly defined as a homosexual

more than 10M offering specialized products to targeted customers. The company
has three locations in the San Diego metropolitan area (La Jolla, Del Mar and

However, in an effort to leverage the information to create a more intimate
relationship with their customers, the firm is developing a system to track customer
purchase behavior over time. Basically KFF is wasting recourses creating one more
stand alone module that is not integrated in enterprise wide inventory system. It
would be more cost efficient for Kudler to do some customization of inventory
management to obtain information about customer behavior. Company s web site
doesn t provide customers with an opportunity to place online orders. The company
would benefit from installing e commerce software and connecting it to
merchandise database. It would be beneficial for Kudler to run a blog on company s
web site where customers can give a feedback and learn about in store events,
cooking classes, gourmet recipes, etc.
Revenue management POS system in every store provides daily sales report. This
report is a starting point for each store manager to forecast future sales and cash
flows. Sometimes stores have difficulties with cash purchases of large amounts of
fresh locally grown produce, because of not sufficient cash on store s bank account.
If stores were able to have one consolidated bank account it would be easier to
accumulate cash for purchases. The main obstacle to it is an absence of integrated

Plato s Justified True Belief Theory
For thousands of years the most prominent theory of knowledge was Plato s Justified
True Belief theory. He was convinced that in order to know something the following
criterion must be met:
a) one must believe said thing to be true
b) said thing must actually be true, and
c) one must be justified in believing said thing to be true.
This theory made a lot of sense to most epistemologists, and was generally accepted
as true for a very long time. It wasn t until a man named Edmund Gettier wrote a
paper offering some counterexamples to this theory that philosophers began to
dismiss it. Since the publication of Gettier s paper in 1963, most modern
epistemologists have abandoned the justified true belief theory. Gettier s
counterexamples demonstrate that having a justified true belief in something isn t
necessarily equivalent to possessing knowledge. They show that something more
than just justified truth is needed. This lead to what is known as the Gettier Problem:
what, in addition to (or instead of) justified true belief, is needed to constitute
knowledge? The solution to this problem is still being searched for by contemporary
philosophers, and no general consensus has been reached. Many other
counterexamples to justified true belief theory have been constructed since Gettier s
paper, and these thought experiments are referred to as Gettier Cases. These thought
experiments are generally characterized by the presence of a few key elements:
justified true belief without
A Doll s House by Henrik Isben
In the 1900 s women were not granted with similar privileges as men. Economic
suppression, limited education, and lack of civil rights were the primary issues
for women. In the play A Doll s House, Henrik Isben creates the realization of
female oppression through the creation of the character, Nora. Nora is a woman,
whose whole life is ruled by either her father or husband. Nora Helmer, tries hard to
perform the roles expected of a woman, which, however, has led to her sacrifice of
individual ideals and fulfillment of personal freedom. Ibsen reveals Nora s grasp of
independence through his use of symbolism, irony, and development of characters.

(1173). Mrs. Linde is a character who has faces being independent on her own.
With the privilege of having school, she demonstrates how having freedom is a
hard struggle however it is attainable. Nora s realization of woman independence
then, drives to show how she has created actions for herself. This can be seen in the
conversation between Mrs Linde and her Mrs. Linde: [smiling] Well, good
heavens, a little bit of sewing to do and a few things like that. What a child you
are, Nora! Nora: [tosses her head and walks across the room] I wouldn t be too sure
of that, if I were you. Mrs. Linde: Oh? Nora: You re just like the rest of them. You
all think I m useless when it comes to anything really serious (1178). Mrs Linde s
pushed Nora to reveal her secret. She carries out the whole project of saving
Helmer s life behind everyone s back to show her independent capability.
Throughout the play Ibsen uses symbolism to emphasize Nora s oppression and
uprising. In the beginning of the play the macaroons, were presented when Helmer
asked if Nora had eaten one, in response she lied. Helmer does not want Nora to eat
macaroon due to his desire to have a perfect trophy wife, and in order to obtain such
desire, watching the weight is one key he must monitor. The
Population Trends In Canada
Examining population trends can help Canada in regards to planning for the future,
particularly within the health field. Looking at the population pyramids, a large
portion of Canadas population are older adults. (Clarke, 2016). It is also known that
a large portion of older adults reside within their own homes, 92.1% lived in private
households...while 7.9% lived in collective dwellings (Statistics Canada, 2011). Why
it is though that living within one s home seems to be the common trend? Perhaps
living within a familiar communityand neighborhood contributes to this choice. As
older adults age and experience the need to transition into a collective dwelling, how
will the notion of community and keeping these individuals in their community s...

for older adults is important, location needs to be a priority when building these

who was also the creator of the Pantheon, designed the column and it was built from

interesting to learn that columns were mainly constructed to celebrate military
victories, with reliefs starting from the bottom and wrapping around the structure
ending at the top. It seems odd to me since, there was no really way to read or see
the stories from the ground without a scaffolding or structure built around it because
it stood 125 feet tall with a base that was probably 15 feet. The Column of Trajan does

this time of the year. To maximize the outcome and the experience, I also have
decided to go the 24 hours without my laptop and other electronic devices.
For the first 3 to 4 hours I went through symptoms that were similar to alcohol or drug
addiction withdrawal; anxiety, restlessness and decreased concentration. Strong urge
to check my Facebook and message was almost unbearable. It was impossible for me
to concentrate on studying or anything else. I just wanted to go to bed and forget
about the fact that I have completely isolated myself.
The next 8 hours was not as difficult since I was asleep. However, because I did not
own a clock or a watch, I was not able set the alarm. I naturally woke up when the
sunlight was beaming through my eyes. I realized that I have overslept. Luckily, I
did not have any classes or appointments for that day. ... Show more content on

I went to a cafГ© and just sat there for a couple of hours. I thought I would feel
liberated as I did not have to check my phone every ten minutes. However, I
continuously looked for my phone, which I had did not bring, and started to feel
agitated as I could not check my messages, Facebook, and Instagram.
Smart phones have made our lives so much easier, yet it had imprisoned us in its
world. I have related this experience with substance use disorder. Withdrawal can be
harder for some people and it is not as easy as a lot of people imagine. Supports and
sometimes depending on the circumstances, medications should be needed to help the
Martin Luther King Influence
Martin Luther King Influence and Power
In the great country of America; America is who it is today because of the men
and woman who were great leaders that were able to influence people. Martin
Luther King Jr. is one of those great leaders that has changed America for the better
because he had a dream. He was a black baptist minister who was a spokesperson
against segregation and led peaceful protests. In the 2014 movie Selma, the film
shows how Mr. King led the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches and
the events leading up to it. Mr. King was a remarkable leader because he could
motivate people to join him in the protest against segregation and influence America
to change.
Martin Luther King used many different methods and ... Show more content on

Mr. King spoke at the church in Selma to inspire the people to not stand back and
not do anything anymore. In his speeches he used inspirational appeal, which is
when a leader spur emotions in the follower s sense of justice or loyalty to the
organization. In Mr. Kings first speech in Selma he brings up how the 4 girls were
unjustly murdered in their own church and that only 2% of the black population in
Selma had the right to vote. He said, those that have gone on before us say no more,
that means protest, that means march, that means disturb the peace, that means jail
and that is hard . By the end of his speech the congregation was on their feet
applauding and chanting give us the vote. Because Mr. King used inspirational
appeal and brought up the injustice that was happening the people were willing to
protest and march. If Mr. King started off with that they were going to march and
protect for first the people wouldn t have reacted the same way.
Mr. King was very well liked and respected by the black community because he was
protesting against segregation. Because he was so well known everywhere Mr.
King went and he showed referent power because the people wanted to meet him
and shake his hand. Referent power is when followers want to be like or closely
associated with the leader. The followers want to develop a personal relationship
with the leader. Everyone in the black community looked up to Martin Luther King
and was willing to do whatever he asked
My Visit To Detroit
One piece of architecture I had the pleasure of visiting is the Michigan Central
Station. An icon if there ever was one, representing Detroit s rise and fall. It is so
structurally sound demolition experts say would cost an estimated $5 10 Million just
to demolish and anywhere from $100 300 million to renovate. More of an issue for
Detroitis finding a function for the forgotten station. It was built by the same
architects as New York Citys Grand Central Terminal. In service from 1913 to 1988,
The Beaux Art style was very influential during its conception. There is the train
station itself and the 18 story tower situated on top of it. Its Neo classical
architecture can be appreciated from a distance. Owner Manuel Moroun has in recent
years,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I had not had the opportunity to fully explore it in its entirety unfortunately as I did
not want to leave my car unsupervised for long being in Detroit and all. I still have
dreams about it. What is it like in the infamous basement corridors? What is the
view from the top? One thing I would like to see is when Detroit bounces back,
MCS also being brought back to its former glory as a testament to what Detroit is.
Until then, this 500,000 square foot building will stand, like its predecessors of
classic design in ruin. The 18 story tower, never completely utilized, was intended
to accommodate a hotel and/or offices and the top floors were never served for any
function. There is not much I can say that has already been observed but from my
perspective, sneaking into MCS as an adolescent made me feel like I was in a
completely different time. It made me feel as I was exploring the ruins of ancient
Rome. I can only imagine what it was like lit up along with the 40 foot arched
windows in the spilling in light at dawn and
Upper Three Forks In Painted Woods Case Study
The upper Three Forks in Painted Woods has shown poor oil production and low oil
saturation compared to the surrounding acreage. Previous assessments suggested that
the primary cause for this anomaly was due to the Pronghorn acting as a barrier for
primary migration from the lower Bakken shale into the upper Three Forks. Current
assessment indicates that, while the Pronghorn is a tight and fine grained rock, it is
not entirely impermeable. The Pronghorn is believed to only partially inhibit primary
migration, and is not the primary factor for the poor performance across Painted
Woods. The lower Bakken shale thins drastically across the Painted Woods region.
This thinning greatly reduces the amount of hydrocarbons generated across the region.

PRONGHORN AS A PRIMARY MIGRATION BARRIER Based off of MICP
data collected from core (Figure 19), the Pronghorn siltstone has a permeability on
par with the upper and lower Bakken shales. The lack of permeability is supported
by lithological analysis indicating a clay content of up to 50 % (Figure 20) across
the Painted Woods asset. The low permeability and high clay content shows that the
Pronghorn does have the potential to occlude primary migration of hydrocarbons
from the lower Bakken shale into the underlying upper Three Forks. However, this
only has a minimal effect on the overall potential of the upper Three Forks as a
whole. Saturation trends in the Pronghorn and the upper Three Forks (Figure 21),
indicates that hydrocarbons are being occluded from the lower Bakken into the
Three Forks, but not entirely. Oil saturation gradually decreases from the top of the
Pronghorn to the base indicating less hydrocarbons are being pushed into the upper
Three Forks. However, the oil saturation never reach 0% and only decreases to
approximately 60 to 70 % water saturation. The oil saturation then gradually increases
from the top of the Three Forks to the top of the first claystone. This trend is observed
throughout all the wells within Painted Woods, independent to the thickness of the
Pronghorn. Even though there is less volume of generated lower Bakken
hydrocarbons, oil is still able to be transmitted through the Pronghorn across Painted
Woods. However, the quantities transmitted are likely less compared to other
From Prey to Predators
Cold is encircling you, and the deeper you go, the tighter it squeezes. There s
enough light for you to see a dark, looming shape weaving back and forth through
the water, slowly heading toward you. It aggressively opens its mouth, ready to gulp
you down its starving stomach, and its teeth seem to sparkle with hunger. But
something else catches eye. Abruptly bolting past you, it swiftly devours a fish twice
its size. Welcome to the Pelagic zone. Large organisms roam this open space, and this
is perhaps why another name for it is the Open ocean zone. Including numerous
subzones, this limitless territory has includes the subzones of the epipelagic,
mesopelagic, bathypelagic, and abyssopelagic. Despite being home to many large
predators though, many species use it to spawn, grow to maturity, feed, and breed.
Slightly or majorly morphing in order to survive in your surroundings, adapting, is
required for this ever changing environment, and phytoplankton, sunfish, and flying
fish have become adept at this skill.
A deceiving family name surrounds this organism, or animal. Even though it is
called a fish, a glitter just above the surface of the ocean s water might just be it.
Admirably capable of swimming and flying, flying fish are pure evidence of how
nature has learned to adapt. One adaptation they possess is an unequally split tail, for
this gives them more control over movement. Flying Fish also have another trait that
allows them to get airborne, expanded pelvic fins.

On one hand, the vastness of the subject provides numerous aspects to explore, from the historical development of computers to the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. On the other hand, the sheer volume of information available can be overwhelming, making it difficult to decide what to include and what to omit. Researching for such an essay requires navigating through a sea of technical jargon, understanding complex concepts, and staying updated on the rapidly evolving field. Moreover, finding reliable sources to support arguments and ideas is crucial to ensure the essay's credibility. The challenge lies in striking the right balance between technical details and readability, catering to both experts and a general audience. Crafting a cohesive narrative that flows seamlessly from one point to another can also be a daunting task. It requires not only a deep understanding of the subject but also the ability to present information in a logical and engaging manner. A successful essay on computer technology should not only inform the reader but also inspire curiosity and interest in the topic. Additionally, addressing the ethical implications and societal impact of computer technology adds another layer of complexity. In conclusion, writing an essay on computer technology demands a blend of technical expertise, research skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and compelling way. • 2. Exploring The Possibilities Of Discovering The Neural... Exploring the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness In the ongoing strive to better understand the mechanism of consciousness, the possibility of discovering the neural correlates of consciousness (NCCs) is arguably the leading agenda in its scientific research. Although the question of whether consciousness can be fully reduced to its neural correlates remains debatable, it is still credible that whenever an appropriate brain process occurs, the associated subjective experience follows (Chalmers, 2013). Thus, this essay will demonstrate that it is plausible that the minimal brain processes necessary for a conscious percept can be experimentally narrowed down to a smaller coalition of neurons. Understandably, the complexity of the cortical system that is yet to be fully deciphered, along with the technological difficulties in obtaining essential data has hindered the search for the NCCs and have lead some to doubt the possibility of ever locating it (Fins Plum, 2004). It is also likely that there are numerous NCCs, each associated with different modalities, which complicates the task further (Chalmers, 2013). For the purpose of this essay, the possibilities of discovering the neural correlates of visual consciousness are discussed in particular. This essay aims to define the foundational concepts of the science of consciousness, outline the experimental projects in finding the neural correlates of visual consciousness, and address

The Holy Spirit plays a very vital role in the lives of each and every believer; He can strengthen us with a strength that we cannot even begin to muster up in ourselves. He can bring us joy that we cannot even begin to find in the things of this world. He can bring peace to our lives more than anything that we can ever find on this earth. The Holy Spirit which is primarily an energizing process, is also a revealing, refining, consuming, illuminating process, and one by which we are made to glow with love to God, and love to man, and love to souls. SIGNS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST As we look into the scriptures of Acts 2:1 11 we see the things that took place on the day of Pentecost. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord and in one place. (Acts 1:1) Not only had the people began to gather together in one place but they were all in one accord and all were there for the same purpose all agreeing on the same thing. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (Acts 2:2) Imagine sitting in a room when suddenly a rushing mighty wind fills the room. When we think of the force of hurricane type winds entering the room in which we are sitting we would not be able to even fathom how it would be.

Resisting them was of no use: they carried guns and the consequences of any conflict would only mean retaliation. Introduction to Oboe and Bassoon An Introduction Oboe and Bassoon By Marie A Rogers 300005290 Woodwind Techniques 1 1010 1100 Mr. Robinson The oboe is a soprano range double reed instrument with a length of 62cm. Its wooden tube is distinguished by a conical bore that expands into a flaring bell. The modern oboe s range extends from the B flat below middle C (b3 flat) to about 3 octaves higher (A6). The oboe has a very narrow conical bore. It is played with a double reed consisting of two thin blades of cane tied together on a small metal tube called a staple, which is inserted into the reed socket at the top of the instrument. Traditionally made from African Blackwood, also called grenadilla, the instrument is made in 3 parts. The top joint has 10 or 11... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The modern Bassoon exists in two distinct primary forms the Buffett system and the Heckle system. Most of the world plays the Heckle system, while the Buffett system is primarily in France, Belgium, and parts of Latin America. Bassoon techniques The Bassoon is held diagonally in front of the player, but unlike the flute, oboe, and clarinet, it cannot be supported by the players hands alone. Some means of additional support is required; the most common ones used are a neck strap or shoulder harness attached to the top of the boot joint, a seat strap attached to the base of the boot joint which is laid across the chair seat prior to sitting down. To stabilize the right hand, many Bassoonists use an adjustable common shaped apparatus called a crutch , which mounts to the boot joint. An aspect of Bassoon playing technique called flicking involves the momentary pressing or flicking of the high A, C, and D keys by the left hand thumb at the beginning of certain note in the middle octave in order to eliminate the cracking or brief microphonic that happens without the use of the key. Bassoon Reeds Bassoon reeds, made of Arundo donax cane, are often made by the players themselves, although beginner bassoonists tend to buy their reeds from professional reed makers or use reeds made by their teachers. Reeds begin with a length of tube cane that is split into three or four pieces. The cane is then trimmed and gouged to the desired thickness,

Methods Experiment 1: Constructing a Standard Curve The students first prepared to construct a standard curve. To do this, each group measured the absorbance of starch solutions of unknown concentrations treated with IKI (General Biology I, Martineau, Dean, Gilliland, Soderstrom, Lab Manual, 2017, 45). The absorbance values were determined for a range of samples, and plotted on a graph. A line of best fit was then used as a reference to determine the amount of starch present in unknown samples. Using the yellow tube, which included everything but starch, as the blank, each group zeroed their spectrophotometer. This was done so that any absorbance observed depends only on the amount of starch present, not on any other reagents (buffer, IKI). To zero the spectrophotometer, the wavelength was first set at 580nm, using knob 3 (45). Next, the groups made sure that the light next to transmittance was lit, and the chamber to be tightly closed. Having the chamber empty closed tightly provides reference for the darkest condition possible. Using knob 1, the transmittance was turned until it read 0.0 (45). Before the groups used their blank test tube to zero the spectrophotometer, each needed to wipe the tube with kimwipes to ensure a clean reading. Turning knob 2, each group was then instructed to zero the absorbance, 0.000. Upon removing the blank, each trial was inserted into the chamber (46). The

The Rise and Fall of Dynasties in China The rise and fall of dynasties in china Introduction Rhoads Murphey describes the history of China history is on the succession of dynasties that ruled it over a period of time until around 1912 when Republic of china was formed before rising to the current People s Republic of China was formed in 1949. In China, a dynasty was made up of Kings or emperors that came from the same family. They ruled in succession where a king could be inherited by his son or his immediate relatives. Although china s history is majorly regarded on the basis of dynastic ruling, other small kingdoms were established that ruled different part of china. For example, in 200AD, the fall of great Han dynasty triggered formation of smaller kingdoms all over the china which were later united by a short lived Sui Dynasty that reigned between 580 and 618 AD. In Murphey s book varied dynasties have been described how they came to power and how they eventually collapsed. From his book, various reasons for dynastic rise in china can be summarized as follows; most dynasties were founded through force and especially when there was disorder in a given dynasty. This could even break into a fight and those who won could take up and rule for a period of time waiting to be overthrown by other powerful people. Dynasty could also rise as a result of leaders who were very powerful and vigourous. These leaders could create their own stable and prosperous kingdom that secured it territories and people.

The lack of effective railways was an added complication to the existing communication difficulties between them. Whereas the Whites were disunited, the Bolsheviks maintained absolute unity through the Terror. It was this skilled leadership of the Red Army , paired with the divided leadership of the White Forces that was a key factor in the Bolsheviks winning the Civil War. Educating people about resistance to prevent misuse is important as well because not everybody knows about the growing resistance problem. If people know about the resistance problem, proper use of antibiotics would increase. Antibiotics today are easily accessible without the need of prescription in most cases, leading to the wrong self diagnosis based on observation instead of actual tests. Creating more regulations to ensure prescriptions and correct diagnosis will help with the misuse of antibiotics. Stopping their use as growth hormones in agriculture will also help because the antibiotics from the plants and animals are able to unnecessarily get into a person s body, which promotes more antibiotic resistance since the dosages are not consistent. As the antibiotics pass through the livestock and people, they contaminate the water system. The antibiotic resistance today does not necessarily mean the end of antibiotics as long as

  • 14. The s Ontological Proof For The Existence Of God Essay In his Proslogion, written in 1077 1078, St. Anselm of Canterbury, introduced the first formulation of his ontological proof for the existence of God. In an effort to gain a deeper knowledge and acquaintance with his creator, Anselm set out to logically deduce God s existence from the very definition of God. In the Proslogion he writes, God is that which a greater cannot be thought. Whoever understands this properly, understands that this being exists in such a way that he cannot, even in thought, fail to exist (Anselm, 101). Anselm uses this definition as the fundamental argument for his proof of God s existence. He argues that if the fool or disbeliever denies the existence of God, he is still capable of understanding the definition of God, thereby God exists in his mind as a mental image but not necessarily in reality. However, since the very definition of God is that which a greater cannot be thought and surely what exists both mentally and in reality must be greater than what exists only mentally, then God s existence in the fool s thoughts must inevitably imply his existence in reality, as well. If that s not true, than the thought the fool has cannot be of God, since if that thought only exists mentally then there must be something greater than it is and that goes against Anselm s definition. Ultimately, according to Anselm s definition, it would be self contradictory to deny the existence of such a being. About two centuries after the writing of

There are various types of learner exist within a classroom and they each need to be treated differently. As teachers, we need to raise our awareness of the attributes, competencies and challenges for each of those different learner types in order to engage them in the class. This portfolio will introduce Autism Spectrum Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Gifted and Talented Students and Challenging Behaviour in the classroom as example of various learner types and discuss learning competencies and challenges, and then provide possible engagement strategies for each of those learner types. I also would like students to know and realize that learning is an ongoing process that never ends. It is important to teach students about respecting others and to treat others how they would like to be treated. I believe that my future students should be in a safe environment, which will improve their social, intellectual, and emotional skills. Students spend much more time in the classroom than they spend at home participating in eight hours of learning, socializing, and remolding themselves around the classroom. Therefore they should feel like school is a safe environment to be in. Teachers should let students feel comfortable in relating to them as a friend, motherly figure, and as a tool to lead them to success. Students are from diverse cultures and ethnicity; they should understand and respect each other customs and ways of life. It is my responsibility as a teacher to instill in them these values. This will then help them to develop and become open minded to others. It is also very vital that a teacher provides many different kinds of learning approaches/techniques to a child, so that they don t become fixated or trapped in their most comfortable learning style. Learning has been proven to be most successful when students can relate the information that has been given to them to real life experiences. It is highly important to incorporate

Law Enforcement Agency Analysis Unfortunately, no policy or enforcement mechanism exists to segregate data housed on the same physical server in the event of governmental interception of data (Subashini and Kavitha 2011). The result is that Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) investigations often include innocent, co located data. In most cases, the owner of the data does not know their data is co located with suspected criminal data, or that the data is part of an investigation. The segregation of data is also critical to access controls applied to the data. To insure successful access controls in a cloud environment, with co located data, the ability to determine who can access the data must reside with the client, in both enterprise and private user applications (Subashini and Kavitha 2011). Security and privacy of cloud based data is only effective through agreed upon application of policy and governance against the underlying technology architecture. The compulsion of third party vendors to turn over data to law enforcement, or otherwise be complicit in interception or storage of data is a direct threat to the integrity, security, and privacy of data stored by service providers (Subashini and Kavitha 2011). As she rallies her troops with a triumphant speech. Because the Queen was faced with the downgrading of women at the time politically and domestically, Queen Elizabeth must use smart and bold strategies throughout her speech. In order to inspire the troops to be the most successful in the protection of their home empire. In her speech, the Queenuses strategies such as: using a masculine tone, using strong pronouns, and using a specific structure in her ideas in order to persuade her audience (her troops). The first strategy Queen Elizabeth uses in her speech is how she uses strong pronouns to keep a powerful and controlling point. There are many instances throughout her speech she puts emphasis on the idea of togetherness. For example, words like we, us, and our appear in the text when she states we have been persuaded by some that are careful of our safety, to take heed how we commit ourselves to armed multitudes, for fear of treatery. These words show the power in the loyalty she has to her people and the loyalty her people have for their Queen and empire. This loyalty is important because the troops should feel a bond and a passion, to understand the bigger picture in what they are fighting for. She then transitions into individual pronouns towards the end of the speech. Words like I, my, myself, and my, express a powerful tone in her speech. For example she states

Every time a case like this happens hundreds if not thousands of dollars are wasted to correct the situation. • 36. Plato s Justified True Belief Theory For thousands of years the most prominent theory of knowledge was Plato s Justified True Belief theory. He was convinced that in order to know something the following criterion must be met: a) one must believe said thing to be true b) said thing must actually be true, and c) one must be justified in believing said thing to be true. This theory made a lot of sense to most epistemologists, and was generally accepted as true for a very long time. It wasn t until a man named Edmund Gettier wrote a paper offering some counterexamples to this theory that philosophers began to dismiss it. Since the publication of Gettier s paper in 1963, most modern epistemologists have abandoned the justified true belief theory. Gettier s counterexamples demonstrate that having a justified true belief in something isn t necessarily equivalent to possessing knowledge. They show that something more than just justified truth is needed. This lead to what is known as the Gettier Problem: what, in addition to (or instead of) justified true belief, is needed to constitute knowledge? The solution to this problem is still being searched for by contemporary philosophers, and no general consensus has been reached. Many other counterexamples to justified true belief theory have been constructed since Gettier s paper, and these thought experiments are referred to as Gettier Cases. These thought experiments are generally characterized by the presence of a few key elements: justified true belief without

The lack of permeability is supported by lithological analysis indicating a clay content of up to 50 % (Figure 20) across the Painted Woods asset. The low permeability and high clay content shows that the Pronghorn does have the potential to occlude primary migration of hydrocarbons from the lower Bakken shale into the underlying upper Three Forks. However, this only has a minimal effect on the overall potential of the upper Three Forks as a whole. Saturation trends in the Pronghorn and the upper Three Forks (Figure 21), indicates that hydrocarbons are being occluded from the lower Bakken into the Three Forks, but not entirely. Oil saturation gradually decreases from the top of the Pronghorn to the base indicating less hydrocarbons are being pushed into the upper Three Forks. However, the oil saturation never reach 0% and only decreases to approximately 60 to 70 % water saturation. The oil saturation then gradually increases from the top of the Three Forks to the top of the first claystone. This trend is observed throughout all the wells within Painted Woods, independent to the thickness of the Pronghorn. Even though there is less volume of generated lower Bakken hydrocarbons, oil is still able to be transmitted through the Pronghorn across Painted Woods. However, the quantities transmitted are likely less compared to other
  • 45. From Prey to Predators Cold is encircling you, and the deeper you go, the tighter it squeezes. There s enough light for you to see a dark, looming shape weaving back and forth through the water, slowly heading toward you. It aggressively opens its mouth, ready to gulp you down its starving stomach, and its teeth seem to sparkle with hunger. But something else catches eye. Abruptly bolting past you, it swiftly devours a fish twice its size. Welcome to the Pelagic zone. Large organisms roam this open space, and this is perhaps why another name for it is the Open ocean zone. Including numerous subzones, this limitless territory has includes the subzones of the epipelagic, mesopelagic, bathypelagic, and abyssopelagic. Despite being home to many large predators though, many species use it to spawn, grow to maturity, feed, and breed. Slightly or majorly morphing in order to survive in your surroundings, adapting, is required for this ever changing environment, and phytoplankton, sunfish, and flying fish have become adept at this skill. A deceiving family name surrounds this organism, or animal. Even though it is called a fish, a glitter just above the surface of the ocean s water might just be it. Admirably capable of swimming and flying, flying fish are pure evidence of how nature has learned to adapt. One adaptation they possess is an unequally split tail, for this gives them more control over movement. Flying Fish also have another trait that allows them to get airborne, expanded pelvic fins.
