This document summarizes a study comparing the social ecology of Singapore and Hong Kong. It introduces topics like sustainable development, environmental movements, and a theoretical framework combining Murray Bookchin's social ecology and Pierre Bourdieu's concept of habitus. The document proposes a new concept of "ecological habitus" and "spiritual capital" to analyze how cultural dispositions and power relations shape environmental movements and drive structural changes in institutions. It concludes by outlining the methodology used in the comparative study.
