The Glucose Trail pilot project is located in Pind Begwal, Pakistan, 20 miles outside of Islamabad. The project aims to address the challenges of limited healthcare access and facilities, misconceptions about diabetes medication and treatment, and sedentary lifestyles in the region. The project trains local Healthcare Companions to conduct weekly home visits for diabetes patients, track data, and provide education and support to improve medical compliance and encourage healthy lifestyle changes. Over 125 patients were tested through recruitment camps, with 84 diagnosed with diabetes.
