2. Who are we?
We are youth wanting to spread awareness for
organ donation around Australia.
We are a group of 19 students in year 9-10, also with
a mentor teacher Ms Harris.
We are all committed, determined and passionate
about the “Give Life Live Life” campaign.
A few members in this campaign have been touched
with someone close to them having a transplant, so
this campaign is something every close to our
hearts.
3. Purpose:
Our purpose is to share our knowledge and
understanding of how important organ
donations can be in every day life.
We hope that this campaign grows from Mount
Eliza, to The Peninsula and eventually even
further.
4. Facts:
You must be 16 yrs+ to register
Only 1700 people on the transplant list
Registration is voluntary
Donations can include: Organs- Kidneys, heart, lungs, liver
and pancreas, Tissue- heart valves, bone tissue, skin and eye
tissue
One organ & tissue donor can save the lives of 10 or more
people
Australia is a world leader for successful transplant outcomes
In 2013, 391 organ donors gave 1,122 Australians a new chance
in life.
In Australia the family of every potential donor will be asked
to confirm the donation decision of their loved one before
donation can proceed.
