Gi-Fi, or gigabit wireless, is a next-generation wireless technology that operates at over one billion bits per second, significantly faster than Wi-Fi. Developed by NICTA and demonstrated in 2008, it uses a 5x5mm chip with a 1mm antenna, supporting high-speed data transfer over short ranges while ensuring security and low power consumption. With applications in household and office appliances, Gi-Fi technology aims to enable a truly wireless future by eliminating the need for cables.
