Traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani are alternative systems to allopathy that have been used for centuries.
Ayurveda is based on balancing the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) using herbs, diet and lifestyle. Diagnosis examines the pulse, tongue and other factors. Treatment aims to restore balance. Homeopathy treats "like with like" using highly diluted substances to trigger symptoms similar to the disease. Unani is based on the concept of hot/cold and wet/dry qualities of the four elements - earth, air, fire, water. It aims to balance the four humours - blood, phlegm, yellow and black bile.
