This document discusses gender considerations in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects. It describes a case study of Women's WASH Platforms (WWPs) in a remote, minority community with limited infrastructure. The WWPs aimed to empower women, address their needs, and promote their leadership and voices. Through group formation, planning, implementation, and advocacy, the WWPs helped build women's confidence and skills while improving access to water and sanitation facilities. However, challenges remained around long-term sustainability and overcoming social norms regarding women's roles. The document argues that empowering women leads to more sustainable WASH outcomes and broader community benefits.
