This presentation provides brief introduction of Gamification. It talks about what and why Gamification is needed. It talks about Gamification in Enterprise.
Corporations are constantly challenged to find ways to keep learners engaged. Methods such as social learning, portal, and mobile learning have been implemented with success; however, gaming has remained elusive. Often, a gaming initiative can fall victim to the constraints of time and budget, while other organizations struggle to determine how to best harness the power of gaming in their learning strategy. The question remains: Is it possible to produce corporate gaming that engages the learner without breaking the bank?
Join Sheri Weppel, Director of eLearning Development and Training for GP Strategies, in this 20-Minute Webinar to discuss how to bring game-based learning into your enterprise today. Specifically, she will consider:
- What are the challenges and direction related to game-based learning?
- What are the elements of gaming that captivate the learner?
- What support is required to ensure a successful knowledge transfer?
- How can gaming be achieved in a responsible time and budget allocation?
This webinar entitled Moving Gamification Beyond Points, Badges, and Leaderboards was a Q&A as part of the eLearning Chatter's Dialogues series. Participants sent in questions ahead of time and the webinar was structured as a conversation speaking directly to the issues that most interested and concerned the audience.
I talked about gamification and it's usage in education and training for 2 hours in Tabatabayi University of Tehran. I'll try to prepare a small workshop in this subject.
Gamification in education - 10 compelling case studies - Manu Melwin Joymanumelwin
A student’s ability to be successful academically mainly depends on how that specific student retains the information he or she receives from an educator. In return, the student’s ability to retain information principally relies on the mode of learning that suits the person.
Madison, a student at American University had a great idea for her senior project: Bring some local nonprofits that cannot afford PR agencies and have students who are hungry for career experience get a shot at helping these great causes.
Madison, couldn't think of a clever name, and came to us with assistance and catchy marketing tactics. We knew our audience, and we knew what they wanted, BENEFITS. Clients get work done, students get experience, everyone wins, everyone BENEFITS

Driving engagement loyalty through gamificationSanjay Abraham
Gamification is about using game mechanics into non gaming contexts like business processes- to enhance employee productivity, customer retention, partner engagement etc. Gamification is about using game elements & techniques for better engagement.
Using Gamification to Build a Passionate and Quality-Driven Software Developm...Cognizant
Gamification techniques are increasingly playing a huge role in software development - to motivate team members, reduce the cost of quality, reward high achievers and more. We suggest you begin software gamifying with project management, innovation, the software-development training process and delivery.
Enterprise gamification or e-commerce gamification can be defined as the amalgamation of game machines and gaming concepts integrated into business operations to make them more engaging and interesting for the staff.

Gamification for Insurers: A Practitioner’s PerspectiveCognizant
Gamification for insurance companies employs traditional game elements – including badges, leaderboards, points, and quests – to improve organizational efficiency and increase customer engagement. Gamification can function as a catalyst for meeting the requirements of a real-time digital enterprise – from underwriting, account management, training, and billing, to marketing, sales, and customer self-service.
Gamification can greatly enhance companies' ability to meet their business goals, but they must first define their objective, identify the brand mission, determine gaming components and create an effective design.
An Introduction to Funifier’s FUNIFICATION ENGINE.
The overall goal of gamification is to more deeply engage with consumers, employees, partners and other audiences so as to inspire them to participate, collaborate, share and interact in some activity or community. A compelling, dynamic, and sustained gamification experience can be used to accomplish a variety of mission-critical business goals. This is FUNIFICATION.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
