First time blues
An economics lecturer was scheduled to give a presentation at a seminar using PowerPoint. During a trial run, the presentation worked fine. However, on the day of the seminar, the presentation would not start up, much to the lecturer's horror in front of administrators and guests. It was discovered that the new laptop had a trial version of Microsoft Office that was causing the issue. The seminar had to continue without the planned presentation. Since installing Open Office, subsequent presentations have gone smoothly, but the lecturer still feels uneasy about the initial failed presentation that colleagues occasionally remind them of.
Warm up assignment
