The 25th International Contemporary Furniture Fair featured many unique pieces including dollhouse-size candelabras in hanging glass bulbs and wallpaper inspired by a 1909 article about a monkey in a bathhouse. However, the most eye-catching piece was Milton Glaser's collection featuring a colossal Shakespeare head emerging from an African carpet, reflecting Glaser's efforts to combine disparate objects without overwhelming the brain. There was widespread use of bronze, copper, and Swarovski crystals, reflecting the industry's emergence from recession. Many products also addressed environmental issues like sun protection and recycled plastics in outdoor furniture.
