- 1. Front Cover: 1) When starting my magazine front cover, I took in mind my Genre (Indie Folk Pop) and tried to produce something which connotes and follows the genre. I have used horizontally the patterns, which are traditional folk patterns to imply the genre of the magazine.The paint tool was used in order to achieve the red colour in between which adds to diversity of colours used and creates the magazine to stand out. The title ‘MainlyIndie’Ichose tocolour green because the colour green represents colour of nature. It symbolises growth, harmony, freshness and a unique individual thing. This connotes the genre of indie folk therefore the house colours so far are in different shades of green. The final letter of the title ‘E’ is purposely capitalised to create a particular form of the letter which ones again portrays the exclusive and difference this magazine would have from others and their genres. For the font have used so far ‘Snickles’ furthering myself away from commonly used fonts such as ‘Times new roman’ or ‘Calibri’ to again create a unique piece magazine front cover. 2) As time wentonI addedthe text‘The greenissue’in orderto make the magazine issue anexclusiveandone off,hence the use greenthroughthe cover.The text to the bottom of the page ‘New music’ was added in to connote conventionsseeninanindie folk magazine. A green box has been put over the text which was done by the rectangle tool. This allowed me to cover the writing in a green box, which distances the text from the other features in the magazine front cover so far. Text has been used to add ‘December’s issue’ under title, again connoting typical conventions seen in magazine front covers. The barcode has been added which would typically again be seen in a magazine front cover. The title has also been edited using the paint bucket tool in order to create a lighter shade of green, as before the dark green symbolised wealth whichthe indie/folkcultureis not about therefore the change of the green colour.
