This document contains a two-part free response question about transpiration rate in plants. [1] It provides background information on transpiration occurring through stomata and how environmental factors impact the rate. [2] Data is given showing that transpiration rate increases with temperature up to 27°C then decreases slightly at 28°C. [3] Part A asks the student to graph this data and explain the shape of the curve from 23-28°C, while Part B asks them to graph and justify the predicted effects of increasing humidity on transpiration rate at constant temperature.
