Cyber Physical Production Systems (CPPS) represent the Key Enabling Technology at the basis of the fourth Industrial Revolution of Industry 4.0.
BEinCPPS I4MS Phase II project aims at spreading the presence of CPPS-based industrial experiments to all the Regions of Europe, starting from 5 champion experiments located in advanced Vanguard EU regions. BEinCPPS provides a CPS/IOT Open Platform on top of which application developers could base innovative services e.g. in the field of production planning, resources management, logistics optimisation.
BEinCPPS Open Call 1 targets the development, testing and experimentation of innovative IT applications experiments, which, based on CPPS technology, could significantly enhance the impact of CPPS into the Manufacturing Industry and SMEs / Mid Caps in particular. Open APIs and datasets coming from the project's 5 experimental facilities will form an IT infrastructure for a realistic testing and experimentation of the new applications. A second wave of Open Calls will afterwards replicate the first wave best practices to additional regions in EU, facilitated by the presence of Regional Digital Manufacturing Innovation Hubs.
L4MS Webinar - All you need to know (25th Oct)L4MS
This webinar focuses on the basics: What L4MS is about, what opportunities it can provide for both technology suppliers and manufacturing SMEs and how industrial IoT-platform OPIL enables. The webinar will walk the listeners through the Open Call application process to help them submit the proposal. This webinar is available also on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd8OPogqLdo
L4MS organised a webinar 9th OCT to explain the second open call, which offers funding up to €250,000 and support services for promising experiments. Project Manager Ola Skalska will answer your questions and explains step-by-step the application process. https://l4ms-open-call.fundingbox.com/

After completing the initial year, I4MS has hosted its first public international event on 18th June in Berlin, in cooperation with the launch of the German manufacturing programme, Autonomik für Industrie 4.0". I4MS has brought together more than 150 professionals from industry and innovation, who have attended to several presentations about what has been achieved by I4MS and further funding opportunities for SMEs and middle size corporates (mid-caps) under the Initiative.
The event signified the importance of SMEs in Europes manufacturing industry and their role in the reindustrialisation process for Europe. At a glance: SMEs are providers of around 45% of manufacturing added value and roughly 59% of employment in the manufacturing sector.

Innovative and digital solutions for circularity and sustainability in textilesCISUFLO
CISUFLO project was presented during the “Workshop on Innovative and digital solutions for circularity and sustainability in textiles” organized by the European Commission DG Growth, last 15th October.
Dr. Jan Vincent Jordan, on behalf of RWTH Aachen, introduced CISUFLO as potential best practices on how digitalisation supports sustainability and on how SMEs can be supported in digitalization (with a focus on RWTH Aachen “Systemic Transition Support Tool”). During the workshop the DG CNECT presented the concept of the Digital Product Passport and DG RTD explained the “Research & Innovation for Sustainable and Circular Textiles”. The EC’s priority on the sustainability and circular economy underlines once again how important it is that CISUFLO is working in this direction to lead the flooring sector in Europe towards the circular economy.
