2. The Lighting used in this scene is very dark, this is done to create fear and show the audience that this scene isn’t very
pleasant. The Lighting has also been made dark in order to emphasis the blood on the floor as It makes It clearer. The fact
that the lighting used is dark automatically suggests to the audience that something bad is going to happen or in this case has
already happened as they can see the blood on the floor. There is also a long shot used in this scene this is used to show the
audience the whole bathroom setting make it more dramatic and create more suspense.
3. In this scene there is an extreme close up used to show the emotions on the antagonist’s face. There is also a pitch black
background used this causes the audience to think about the antagonist’s whereabouts as there isn’t actually any setting is
just black and you can only see the face of the clown who plays the evil part in the film. The Mise en scene in this scene
also plays a major part as to how it is received by the audience , because the way the clown is dressed up with red eyes
and spiral make up gives the clown an intimidating look.
4. In this scene another extreme close up is used this time however it isn’t to create suspense or keep the audience thinking.
The extreme close up used in this scene is used to show the emotion of the victim. The close up of her eyes automatically
shows the audience that she is extremely terrified as what is about to happen. The props used in this particular scene also
major part as the machine she is trapped in only allows the audience to see her eye and forehead.
