An oblique fracture is when the bone breaks at an angle as a result of a sharp blow. A greenstick fracture is an incomplete break where one side of the bone is broken and the other is bent, commonly found in children. A compound fracture is an open fracture where the bone breaks through the skin, exposing the fracture site to risk of infection.
