The life of an orphaned female, ELIZA, a detective who strives to prosecute her twin sister, IVY, a
serial killer who constantly outwits her.
At a young age Eliza and Ivy lose their parents to a brutal murder that they are witness to. This has
opposite effects on the twins. They grow up separately. Belonging to different social groups and having
different beliefs. Eliza spends most of her time alone watching Ivy from afar and isolating herself until they
become less like sisters and more like acquaintances. As time progresses Eliza becomes a ruthless crime
fighter intent on finding the killers of her parents in the form of a detective. Ivy takes a different approach
by turning to a life of crime and instead avenging her parents by killing possible culprits not caring
whether they are related or not. Years later Eliza lives in London in her now empty family home, the
unused rooms of the house remain untouched and the doors are locked. In her messy disorganised room
one of her walls is covered in newspaper articles, clues and photos that are helping her find Ivy. A family
portrait is on her bedside table pushed down surrounded by sympathy cards displaying words such as I’m
sorry for your loss.
Every day Eliza travelled to her workplace a standard Ill lit police station that is constantly busy receiving
a mixture of prank and serious phone calls from the local people. Eliza’s focus on finding Ivy makes her a
hindrance to others at work. MASON a colleague and friend tries to bring her focus away from her
obsession with Ivy but she shouts at him and implies that she is the only person that cares about the pain
and heartache that Ivy is causing. Mason tries to calm her down but she pushes him away and storms out
of the police station taking new evidence with her Mason follows her to make sure she is safe and finding
her just across the street from the station at the local park he sighs and crosses the road to console her.
He sits beside her on the bench and takes the bag containing a possible murder weapon out of her
hands.
On her way home on the dimly lit street she hears her sister's laugh as she turns she sees Ivy smiling
coyly briefly before she turns and disappears down the street. Eliza runs after her calling her name and
finds herself in an alleyway staring down at the body of a young woman, her throat slit and her eyes
closed. Finding a bloody knife in her hand she wonders how it came to be in her hand then in a moment
of craziness she throws it away hearing a clanging sound she stares down at a second knife right by her
feet. She calls the police. They arrive quickly and NOAH another police officer and friend questions Eliza.
She tells them everything apart from the other knife that she found and discarded of in shock.
Eliza stumbles home her mind swarming with her lies and her betrayal to the police force.
She remains huddled up in her room for several days questioning her actions and her sanity missing
several days of work. She receives several calls from Mason and Noah but ignores them completely, still
feeling guilty. One evening she hears a sound from upstairs.Grabbing something that is nearby she goes
down to investigate. She hears Ivy’s laugh and sees the reflection of her in her mirror. She throws the
object in her hand at the mirror wanting to rid herself of the image of her sister. The mirror smashes. She
abandons the object and grabs a knife from the kitchen instead. Following the laugh that overpowers all
sound.
Eliza finds herself in the street outside her house and gasps dropping the knife when she notices the
blood dripping off it and the body of Mason barely breathing on the floor near her house. Feeling as

though she is being framed she calls the ambulance and adds pressure to the wound in Mason's chest.
She calls the police shortly after. Both emergency services arrive quickly.Eliza is again questioned.
Then she shuts herself in her house once again refusing to help the police further. She cleans up the
smashed shards of the mirror and cuts herself when she throws one at the wall catching Ivy’s reflection in
a piece. She turns around quickly but Ivy is nowhere to be seen. The next day Eliza returns to work more
determined to find her sister.Whilst the police forensic team investigate the murder weapon they are
confused when they discover that the only fingerprints on their first actual murder weapon belonged to
Eliza.Noah researches Eliza’s family history and is shocked to find after a thorough search that not only
her parents fell victim to a brutal murder but also Ivy. The police question Eliza and they bring up their
new discoveries. She denies everything and runs from the police heightening their suspicions.
Eliza returns home and pulls open the door to Ivy’s room. Inside she finds piles of opened letters
addressed to Ivy, bloodied items of clothing, a watch belonging to Mason and several pills scattered all
over the floor that have fallen out of several little tubs that are also all over the floor.
Confused she goes to the place that always helps her clear her head. The graveyard where her parents
were buried. Once there she wanders unsteady her vision blurry and falls in front of a gravestone beside
her parents. She looks up and reads Here lies Ivy Bloom, beloved daughter and sister. Eliza stands and
stares at three gravestones rather than the two that she had expected. That she had believed she had
seen.
With a mix of confusion and revelation circling her mind she returns home to Ivy’s room and lifts up the
little tubs containing the pills. She reads the side and finds that they are prescribed to her. Her eyes widen
as she continues to read and discovers that the pills are for schizophrenia. That are dated back to a year
after the death of her family. Ideas and memories swirling Elliza admits to herself that Ivy died years and
years ago and that her mental illness has made her create a new Ivy that she plays the role of.
Accepting her condition she looks into a mirror and sees Ivy again. Ivy smiles and waves. Eliza shakes
her head until she sees herself again.
Eliza visits the hospital leaving an apology note beside a still comatised Mason. Then she goes to the
police station and they put her in the interrogation room. There she is questioned again. She admits to the
murder and explains her illness. They handcuff her and as she leaves the room Ivy appears on the
mirrored wall. She nods and smiles. Eliza blinks. Ivy disappears and only she remains.
