An open lesson on fractional numbers was held at a secondary school in Bulgaria using the creative classroom method from the MATHDebate project. [1] Students were tasked with representing fractions using pictures of chocolate bars and cake and solving word problems involving fractions. [2] The lesson covered key fractional number concepts like numerators, denominators and representing a fraction as the number of parts out of the whole. [3] Students worked individually on problems representing and interpreting fractions.
