2. 1. First of all, Mathematics is so important
because everything we do in our world somehow
involves math. Ordinary people go through their
daily lives using various math concepts without
even knowing it.
3. Maybe you don't use clocks.
(Okay, most people do, but believe it or
not, not everyone does!)
Or maybe you've never driven a car, or
you're not much of a shopper.
Perhaps you've never played sports, or
watched television.
Maybe you've never used the Internet.
How do these activities use math?
4. Well, it's really simple.
Clocks tell time, but only if you know how
to interpret them, which uses math. In
particular, telling time uses addition and
subtraction.
When we finish school? How long did I
sleep last night? When's my favorite TV
show on? And if you know how to use it,
clocks involve what is called sexagesimal
counting; that is, counting by sixties.
There are 60 seconds in a minute, 60
minutes in an hour.
So we think of 15 minutes as a quarter of
an hour, for example. That uses fraction
concepts.
5. We do a bit of math when we drive a
car. We have an intuitive
understanding of speed, for example,
30 miles per hour is slow, you might
say, or 50 mph is too fast for moving
down local streets. How long would it
take to drive from Los Angeles to San
Francisco? It's about 370 miles. Or
could you determine your average
speed if you drove from Seattle to
Tacoma in 20 minutes?
6. Same thing with sports, whether it's
running or seeing how far you can throw
the ball. How would you keep score without
using math?
Shopping involves lots of math.
How much change would you get if you
paid for a $25.99 sweater with two
twenties?
How would you calculate sales tax,
or a 30% discount?
Mathematics is actively included again.
7. 2. Furthermore, Mathematics is so important because if one
doesn’t understand Math, then people who do understand it
will be able to jerk them around like a trout.
8. The best reason for requiring people to
learn math is to make it more difficult for
people to cheat each other. For example, if
you don't understand anything about
probability and statistics, then it's easy for
politicians and corporations to make you
believe things that aren't true, in order to
get you to do what they want you to do.
And if you aren't fluent in arithmetic and
algebra, you can't possibly understand
probability and statistics.
9. 3. In addition, mathematics is so important
because it is a tool.
Maths itself has no significance just like a screwdriver itself has no
use. But you can use a screwdriver to repair or build things which
have a lot of use. Similarly, Maths can be used to solve problems
related to Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biology, Statistics and
Probability and Computer Science.
Due to maths we can predict eclipses, weather forecast and
sometimes, natural disasters as well…
10. 4. Mathematics is important because it has a number of very
useful benefits to our mind if we go into its study.
It develops our reasoning, helps us to have an analytical thinking,
quickens our mind, generates practicality and also its use can be applied
in the day to day. If we are able to understand mathematics and arrive at
logical solutions, we will be able to prepare our minds when we have
real problems. We can look for the best logic, see the possible solutions
and relate the data when we have to get a conclusion.
11. It means that we can express our thoughts and ideas with
clarity, coherence and precision. This is fundamental and
very positive so that all the others understand us and
know that we are people with a clear and coherent
thought. Our way of ordering ideas and expressing them
correctly is a big part of our image.
5. And now last, but definitely not least, mathematics is important
because thanks to mathematic, we can explain how things work.
12. Whether we like that or not, math is becoming an increasingly
important factor in a variety of industries. Future journalists and
politicians will speak less and analyze more. Future police and military
personnel will use technology that is certainly an invention of scientists.
Teachers and nurses will also rely on numbers and technology.
Future mechanics and carpenters will use optimization electronics and
analysis as much as they will use a hammer and a wrench.
1. Math will be more represented in the future.
13. New technologies are changing the way we work and live.
If you don’t want your child to use some instructions or constantly
pay professionals in order not to be scared to press the wrong
button, mathematics can be very useful in understanding how and
why things work the way they work.
2. Mathematics is essential in a world of constant change.
14. When a bunch of credulous people spends money on various
pyramid schemes, thinking that they will make a fortune, they do so
primarily because their math is not their strongest side. In
particular, if you are the least bit familiar with statistics and
calculations of interest, in a very easy way you will recognize the
economic fraud and sellers of fog.
With the help of science like mathematics, you will avoid waste of
money on various projects and tips that you believe can help you.
3. Mathematics is essential in order not to lose money.
