This document discusses the four pillars of mentorship: trust, confidentiality, communication, and courage. It provides guidance on how to build each pillar. Trust is built through honesty, respect, transparency, and keeping commitments. Confidentiality is built by agreeing on boundaries and demonstrating integrity. Communication is built by being present, timely, a good listener, and providing thoughtful responses. Courage is built when mentees ask clarifying questions and provide specific feedback, and when facing challenges by considering potential outcomes.
