The Celebration Mall in Udaipur, Rajasthan is a landmark shopping mall built in the historic city's ethnic architectural style. The Celebration Mall is a shopping mall in
Udaipur located at NH-8, opp. Devendra Dham,
Bhuwana
The mall is built in ethnic architecture style
It was developed by Advance India Projects Limited
(AIPL), and opened its first outlet in December 2010
before the official opening on 2 July 2011

About the project The Mall was to be an attraction for locals and tourists alike
in the historic city of Udaipur. Its facilities included
international retail, entertainment, hypermarket, food
court, restaurants, spa, gymnasium and a Haat to host a
variety of artefacts
The Mall is five floors of retail and entertainment and two
floors of basement parking with multiple atriums. There
are 26 water bodies and cascading fountains within the
premises that enrich this unique retail experience. Inspired
by traditional palace architecture of the Mewar region, it is
an intricately carved structure with imposing domes. As we
wanted to avoid the use of glass and aluminum panels in its
external facades, both of which are inappropriate to the
climate and are energy guzzlers, using the contextual
architectural elements of the building facade such as niches
and relief work which fit as proper pieces of puzzles.
The project sets an example of responsible architecture
leading from the front the green mall movement in the
country. It is intended to become the viable role model for
the emerging retail malls in India.

Parul Zaveri, with a Diploma in
Architecture from CEPT,
Ahmedabad in 1978, has
supplemented her studies with
specific courses in the Urban
Settlement Design in Developing
Countries programme, at MIT,
Cambridge (USA) in 1975-76. She
has also pursued interests in
Alternative Technologies and use
of Solar Energies and Recycling at
Arcosanti & at Cosanti
Foundations, with architect-
philosopher Paolo Soleri in
Arizona, U.S.A
Nimish Patel studied at the MIT,
Cambridge, USA, with
specialization in Urban Settlement
Design in Developing Countries,
and also has a Diploma in
Architecture from CEPT,
Ahmedabad. He is a core team
member of the Whole School
Development Plan carried out by
Ministry of Human Resource
Development and a Member of
the Panel of Sustainability,
Bureau of Indian Standards for
the upcoming National Building
Code
