Slower population growth could help Ethiopia reduce poverty, achieve education and health targets, and reap a potential demographic dividend as the workforce grows relative to dependents. Investing in family planning and gender equality, especially girls' education, would further reduce fertility and position Ethiopia to benefit from lower population growth.

This paper made on analytic discourse on the implications of Nigeria’s population structure on
her economic growth and development. The method is descriptive, using previous works and Nigeria’s census
data. Attention was focused on the age-sex structure with the age structure attracting more abundant interest. It
was found that since 1963, data on Nigeria’s population has consistently posted similar trends in the age
structure--a youthful age structure, with over 40% under 15 years, over 50% under 65 years and about 3% over
65 years. The dependency ratio is almost at par with the working population and the sex ratio equally almost par
with males dominating from 0-54 years and females outnumbering from 55 years and above. The bulging
youthful population without adequate employment opportunities and socio-infrastructural facilities has created
large burden on the society. This excess youthful population could be turned into a demographic bonus or gain
which could result to accelerated economic growth for the country if the government can engage the necessary
policy measures and activities as narrated and recommended.

Currently the population of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region exceeds 432 million people in 2007, half of them under 24 years of age. The region has the youngest population of any region in the world, the second highest urbanization rate and an annual urban growth rate of 4% in the past two decades, second only to Sub-Saharan Africa (Dhillon, 2009). Over half the populations of Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq are under 25 years old, while over 60 percent of Pakistan’s and Afghanistan’s populations are under 25 years old. Over the last few decades, school enrolment rates have risen markedly throughout the region for both young men and women. Yet, even with this increase in the level of education, the recently released Arab Human Development Report finds that youth unemployment presents the biggest challenge to all Arab countries, who have nearly double the global rate. A projected 51 million new jobs will have to be created by 2020 to absorb youth into the labor force. Unemployment also often affects women more than men, with unemployment rates for Arab women being amongst the highest in the world. Data from 2005 shows that the youth unemployment rate for men was 25 percent compared to 31.2 per cent for women. In the region, the female youth unemployment went from a high of approximately 59 per cent in Jordan, compared to 35 per cent for males, to a low of 5.7 per cent in UAE, compared to a male unemployment rate of 6.4 per cent. Population dynamics and economic growth in sub saharan africa

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Forging a link between human development and income inequality: cross-country evidence ARZU ALVAN Department of Economics, Eastern Mediterrenean University, North Cyprus ( Turkey) Email: arzu.alvan@emu.edu.tr Tel. 0392 6301291/ 6302749 This study based on the evidence of ninety countries across the globe examines the possible linkage between human development and income inequality. Global inequalities in income and living standards widened between nations as well as within nations according to the latest annual United Nations Human Development Report. Cross-country evidence on income inequality and human developmet suggest that they are negatively correlated and causality runs in both directions. When human development is improved ( High Human Development), income distribution tends to be more fair, also when income distribution is more equal, human development tends to improve. On the other hand, medium and low levels of human development tend to increase income inequality.
