1. Day 1: I have retrieved some equipment from school am and using it today to film two of my
friends having a choreographed fight. It took a couple of attempts as we had a few pepl walk
by and a few mistakes, but we wrapped it up nicely.
Day 2: I have put my footage into premier in order to see if the sequenceI envisioned works
as I intended, and it pretty much fufills that roll. I have also had a go at overlaying some
flash effects to see how they look on it.
Day 3: I have filmed the part where the main character is having a therapy session, which is
most of the first trailer.
Day 4: I have downloaded some of my footage and edited it into a sequential form, I have
also exported a 30 second video that I have made wit the footage, experimenting to see
what so me of the effects I want use look like on it. – show photos of the video I did and
mention about the screen button over the footage with lights.
Today I have downloaded the rest of my footage and gotten started kn my first poter, which
is a poster of a coffe table which has a notebook which explains bit of the plot and has
doodles in it (notebook of the physiatrist) I have also used a photo of my main character
petting the dog from the puppy therapy scene, use handwrighting like text on note pad with
doodles, duplicated them all and combined and adjusted layer with brightness, contrast,
exposure, vibrance…
Day 5 – added text with a shadow of relebvant colour using type righter font. Added a red
and blue background, wich I added a vector mask with the black brush too, in order to make
it look more faded, and also added some white highlights on the original layer.
Create a second poster – on second poster I took one image and removed the background,
only keeping the person and sofa, adding in a new office background. Then I created a copy
of them all merged together and made another coppy, wich I messed around with the black
and whites of to make it look good in black and white, I then changed some of the objects to
be red, copying a style from (movie with the red balloon about ww2 or smt). I made the
hearts red by using the magic wand select and quick select tools and changing the colour to
red. I also then added a red overlay layer and added some smudges of red to make it look
like blood. I also added some blood splatter effects. One on the clock, which I faded on the
area above the glass to add contrast to it. Hand print.
Day 6- Toda yI am continuing with my second poster to begin with. I added demon eyes to
my character, using a red brush overlay with the lighten effect, which has a brighter dot in
the centre to show where the pupil is. I added a title on the poster with a red colour, using
the gradient I added variety to the colour, making it dark in some areas, I also added a
darker blood shadow to make it pop more, while also using the multiply effect on
materialised copy of the text to blend it in. I also added a copy of some objects above the
text by selecting the areas I want and duplicating them, dragging them above the text so to
make it look more blended and as if it Is there. I also added two layers of the text bofre the
smart object, as it looks a lot nicer as a result, and adde that over the normal layers using
multiply. iN ORDER TO GET RID OF THE HANDPRINT, I copied a segment where the print was
2. from a smaller layer, resized it and math=ched it up to the right location and used the vector
mask to blend it in.
I have now started a flyer for the movie and am planning to make it look blended with a
colour thyme of red. I have made an image black and white and am overlaying it with a Hard
Mix blend on a lighter red/pink background, which is surrounded by a brighter red boarder. I
then proceeded to add a red brush to create a bit of variety in the red, I then went on the
pen tool and added white dots of a variety of sizes. nd coppied the title from my 2nd poster. I
added the relese date and that it was across Europe in a new. Style and coppied the 10
percent style from the title.
I finished that and am now starting to edit my video footage while waiting for a large file to
download, which has been going on for nearly an hour. I am currently going through the
starting bits of footage I have and cutting out unnecessary footage, while alsoputting my
footage in the right sequence while I wait for the rest to download. I have gone through a
large part of the footage and am going through the sections I have cut do far and am
shortening the length of certain clips in order to make it more fast pace, but I am not going
to do too much until I add the music in, as that will set the tempo.
Day 7- Today I have continued with my editing, cutting down the footage I already have,
while also adding some music. I have used key frames on opacity, scale andpossition to
create a few effects, for example a zoom out fade in effect to start, another effect I have
done is create a subsequence over two clips so that I can have. More constant zoom over
both, that seems a lot smoother. I also added in my previous edit of the fight scene into the
sequence. I added a cooler tempurater on some footage that was too wram, I duplicated
the level of cool onto the cut up bits of the same footage, and made aother one of the bits
of footage and its clips have a different level of cool so that it looks similar to the much
warmer one with its level of cold correction. I have also downloaded some of my other
footage off of one drive. Further more the video I had done previously is matched to the
beat of the music, with the action and cuts. I have also recorded some audio for the fight
scene with my friends today, as I wanted some grunting sound effects.
Some problems I have encountered include audio being too loud at certain points, to solve
this I used keyframes on audio levels so that it got quitter or faded out when needed
Day 8- Today I have started off by importing the audio I filmed yesterday and dragging it to
the correct spots for the sound effects, I have also air dropped the footage tha I have been
having trouble downloading to my computer. Have been adding in the new footage into the
right sequence into my timeline. I changed one of the camera angles of how it looks by
scalling in, changing the position and then rotating it to look like a different angle. I that
sequence. It cuts between two angles and skeep zooming in more. I have tried to fae out my
drawing of a dog so that as it fades out, the puppy is pretty much in the same location for
the start of the next scene, to do this I HAVE MADE USE OF THE OPACITY, SCALE NAD
LOCATION KEYFRAMES. I also added the cold colour correction onto all my clips, much less
powerfull on the clips that I had to film on my phone. I have also finished off my script for an
interview I was going to film, as now that I am near finishing my project I have enough time
to film this and edit it.
- For the puppy bit tal about how puppy therapy works wonders for people and how
its cause they are cute as heck – also make sure to do a voice over bit saying ‘sso you
3. got in fight… out of house.. something els e.g. grandparents sighned him up for
therapye’ - for movie extract do the getting ready edgar wright style then the guy
sitting down with a cup of tea and going over H file.
Day 9- To start off toady I have downaloded all of my files from my flash drive to my home
computer, which lead to me having to relocate all the files, which did not take too long. I
also realised I missed out my friends voiceover audio, and so am going to have to add that
on the finished video in its mp4 format. I then proceeded to get rid of the static background
noise in the background of all my audio (as I did not have enough people to use the audio
equipment from college the audio was recorded through the camera), I did this by using the
denoise audio effect, which can remove most of the background noise while keeping the
prominent noise, speaking in this case, still prominent.
