Research review
We have spent a lot of time researching out

Before we continue research we must review our
findings and re-assess the direction of our projects
Your first task to is re-read the blog posts you have
made and note down the following:

• Summarise the arguments and key points of the
article
• Films mentioned in the articles and/or films you
feel relate and demonstrate the points being

Questions
Before we can begin writing our presentation script
we must write our ‘QUESTIONS’
“An exploration of films about film making with
specific reference to the use of self-reflexivity
in 8 ½ , Adaptation and Son of Rambow”
“Why are most Super
Heroes White?”
“Adaptation – How does
changing the form of a
story change its
meaning?”
“Looking for new frontiers -
The American film industry
and the Western Genre”
Effective Questions
An effective exam question Should:
• Be concise
• It should not be too long, or too short
• It should not be too broad, or too
narrow
• It should fit the subject area you have
chosen
• The question should be answerable
What makes a good question?
Thesis Statements
Before we can begin writing our
presentation script we must write our
‘THESIS STATEMENT’
‘THESIS STATEMENT’
A sentence or two that contains the
focus of your essay and tells your reader
what the essay is going to be about
A thesis statement is important
because it will establish the scope of
your presentation script
It is also a reference point for you
when you are writing your essay
If you think you are
venturing off topic, re-read
your thesis statement and
ask
“Is what I am doing related
Thesis Statements
Presenter: - Political animations have been extremely popular at
this crucial time. With an increasing amount of extremist actions,
tied in with the wars in the East, such animations as Persopolis and
Waltz with Bashir have emerged – revealing educating masses of
various people on their true stories, painting a larger picture.
Political Animations. Why are they effective? Why choose an
animation over live action? I will be using Persepolis, Waltz with
Bashir and Animal Farm to explore this genre and discover what
really makes them successful
