Building Your Career in Higher Education with Beatriz Gonzalez Robinson, PhD
Dr. Robinson is the Vice President for Planning and Enrollment at Miami’s St. Thomas University and is also a Professor
in the University’s Department of Social Sciences and Counseling. Dr. Gonzalez Robinson is a Fellow of the American
Council on Education (ACE), serves on the Executive Board for the ACE Council of Fellows, and is a Hispanic Serving
Institution Fellow of the United States Department of Agriculture.
Qualities of an Effective Leader with Lucy Croft, EdD
Dr. Croft is the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of North Florida. She received her BA
from Hanover College and her Doctorate of Education from the University of Cincinnati with an emphasis in
Leadership Education. Her areas of concentration are leadership development and higher education administration.
She is a frequent presenter on topics of leadership development at the local, regional, and national levels.
Achieving Your Work/Life Balance with Pixie Larizza, Certified Massage Therapist and Holistic Counselor
Ms. Larizza attended the Mandarin School of Chinese Medicine in 1989 and received a state license in 1990. She has
taught classes at St. Vincent’s , Baptist Medical and now teaches at UNF through the LEARN Jacksonville program. She
was selected as Small Business Leader of the Year in 2006 for the Professional Women’s Council of the Jacksonville
Regional Chamber of Commerce and is currently the President of the Women Business Owners of North Florida.
The Science of Building a Healthy Lifestyle with Claudia Sealey-Potts, PhD, RD, LD
Dr. Sealey-Potts is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetic Internship Director in the Department of
Nutrition & Dietetics at theUniversity of North Florida. She is a Registered Dietitian with more than two
decades of clinical and community nutrition experience.

Dr. Bradley’s education includes an AA from Memphis State University, a B.A. in Sociology from St. Augustine’s College (Raleigh,
NC), a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and a Ph.D. from
Florida State University in Higher Education Administration. Her professional experiences range from working for colleges and
universities in several states (Ohio State University, Bishop College, Florida A & M University, Bethune Cookman College and
Vanderbilt University), to working as staff with the Florida Governor’s Office, the Florida House of Representatives and the
Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
Dr. Margarita Cabral-Maly
President, Kent Campus — Florida State College at Jacksonville
Dr. Maly is the Interim Provost for Florida State College at Jacksonville and the Campus President for the Kent Campus and Cecil
Center. She is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and Fordham University, with extended studies and courses at the
University of Wisconsin, Madison and Harvard University. She is the recipient of numerous leadership awards ranging from
WBVTAE Administrator of the Year to the Florida State College Administrator and Professional Outstanding Leadership Award in
2002.
Ms. Jana Kooi
President, Open Campus — Florida State College at Jacksonville
Ms. Kooi comes from Pima Community College in Arizona where she has served as the Campus President for two campuses. She
led the development of the institution’s first virtual college, including the creation of a Center for Learning Technologies to develop
and support online learning. She is the President-Elect for the American Association of Community Colleges. Her educational
background includes a Masters in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan and a BA in Secondary Education and
Communications from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
