Up to the 70’s and 80’s, industrial valves were typically Insulated with a rock or fiberglass mat, and a mechanically protected with an
aluminium box. However, valves rapidly stopped being insulated (see reasons in below image). In the last 2 decades, valves started
being insulated with flexible Insulation Jackets, until then only used for high-end applications such as turbines.

Flexible Insulation Systems
EWEN’s e+Jackets can be manufactured with 3 different types of closing systems:
• Velcro (sewn), with a maximum temp. of 200ºC (earlier models up to Oct 2020, had a T. max of 150ºC). This
allows for totally flexible adjustment of the jacket to the insulated body;
• Pressure button – always applied with two lines of buttons, allowing for tighter or looser adjustment;
• Spring – Using stainless steel springs, this allows for continuous adjustment and permanent pressure applied
to the insulated equipment;
