My favorite sports are football & baseball. Some of my pet peeves (things I don’t like) are: disrespect to others (students & those in authority), calling out, not paying attention, not putting effort into your work, & being sloppy. Neatness is important!

Rules for our classroom: 1. Cooperate at all times. This is the key to a good school year. 2. Be responsible for your own actions & decisions. 3. Be courteous of other students & show Christ-like actions. Treat others how you would want to be treated. 4. Respect each other & those in authority. 5. Come to class prepared & ready to learn. 6. Complete all assignments & projects on time. 7. Be neat & organized- keep copybooks neat, and periodically clean out folders.
What is the Responsibility/Homework Grade? The Responsibility /Homework grade is a grade that the you receive for completing your homework, handing in projects and assignments on time, & returning signed tests. A Responsibility/Homework grade of 100 will be given for each subject. Points are deducted as followed: 8 points- missing homework/late projects or assignments 4 points- incomplete homework 2 points- test not signed Example: Sept. 8,2008- Missing Science Homework- 100-8= 92 Sept. 17,2008- Incomplete Science Homework- 92-4= 88
If you get an infraction- it MUST be signed that night & the work made up. A conference with your parents will be set up after 4 infractions. Chronic infractions may result in a detention. Infraction Logs must be taped in the back of your homework copybook. Infractions will count toward your Conduct or Effort grades. Infraction Log
Homework & Test Schedule You are responsible for copying your homework everyday. Homework will be posted on my website, but you should not solely depend on that. Test schedules are posted on Mondays. It is your responsibility to copy it. If you get an infraction for homework- you MUST get your log signed & complete the assignment for the next day. If you forget a book for homework- call someone so you can copy, scan, or write the page you need. “I forgot it .” is not an excuse.
Participation=Cooperation Talking, Passing notes, and other inappropriate behaviors during class show a lack of participation and cooperation and will affect the subject grade. Raising hand in class is strongly encouraged. If you don’t understand something- ASK! It shows initiative. Your effort & behavior in class are just as important as your test grades. Cooperation is important. Do your OWN work. It’s OK to ASK for help, but NEVER let anyone do your work for you. Follow ALL the rules of the school & classroom.
Neatness ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
Tests Upcoming tests are posted on Monday. You must copy schedule in homework book. Tests are sent home to be signed on Friday. They are due back on Tuesday. No talking during tests. Test papers MUST remained covered. If you miss a test when you are absent- you must make it up on the day you return. Be prepared!
“ Here’s what you missed…” papers will be filled out when you are absent & sent home with your books. You MUST have a reliable sixth grade homework buddy to take your books home. You are responsible for making up any missed work when you are absent. That includes getting notes. “ I was absent.” is not an excuse. You must bring in an absent note when you return to school.
A few final notes… If you are staying after school for any reason- you MUST bring in a note from a parent. No drinks at recess- only a small snack. Cell phones are to be TURNED OFF & kept out of sight! Ipods & video games are not permitted in school. Please keep all books covered at all times. Replenish your stationery supplies regularly.
