Making innovation work in an Irish NGO
In response to a decline in donations and
subscriptions, the Charity sought to launch an
innovative e-commerce platform to facilitate a
monthly prize draw lottery, augmented with an
appropriate marketing strategy to raise the profile
of the charity and lottery prize draw. Working on-
site and directly with the management team we
first completed a number of strategic workshops
to define market objectives, target demographic
and brand voice. Having established a marketing
strategy and approach aligned to the mission and
value proposition of the charity, we embarked
on the design and development of a bespoke
e-commerce platform and user website, with
imperatives on a user friendly front-end and ‘sign-
up’. To further raise the profile of the charity we
secured a celebrity ambassador and produced
a suite of marketing content including video
documentary and radio adverts, social media
channels, key PR and media spots. The result was
an immediate increase in subscription revenues
and donations with full recovery of project
marketing and technical investment cost in six
months of launch.
