The fire bellied toad is found in temperate rainforests, woodland areas, marshlands and swamps across Europe and Northern and Central Asia, eats a variety of bugs, insects, spiders and worms using its long sticky tongue, and protects itself from predators like snakes, foxes, birds, cats and large fish by producing a poison that causes it to taste bad.
