1. Markets get 2% boost on Fed moves… Sensex jumps 382 points
Market Summary

Indian benchmarks traded jubilantly today after starting gap up. Chasing the buoyant global cues, markets continued
the rally with Sensex adding 400 points in mid-session. Both frontline gauges climbed around 2% and Nifty closed
above 5900. Among BSE sectorials, Metal index shined followed by Banking sector.
On Global front, US markets ended in green on optimistic Fed moves as per Fed MoM. Going with the flow, all the
Asian and European indices also traded in positive terrain.
Back home, ICICI bank surged 1.91% on BSE as the bank will be the first Indian company to issue pro bond in
Japanese market to raise $ 500 million. Pro bonds are available for subscription to only professional investor and not

Reliance Communications jumped 1.46% on BSE on concluding Rs 1200 crore securitizations proceeds with Reliance

Telecom major, Bharti Airtel will go for legal action against the Rs 650 crore penalty notice from the Department of
Telecommunications (DoT). The said notice was for violating roaming norms in 13 circles between the years 2003 to

HDFC Bank climbed 3.32% on BSE on topping the list of ‘Best Investor Relations Companies’ based on a survey
conducted by global magazine Institutional Investor. The bank scored good on other parameters too. (Read More)

Kalindee Rail Nirman Engineers soared 11.34% on BSE ahead of a board meet to consider raising funds via a
preferential issue to Jupiter Metal as the latter has given an open offer to acquire 30% for Rs 24.17 crore.
Hindustan Media Ventures slumped 11.37% on BSE as the company has set a discounted floor price of Rs 120 per
share for Offer for Sale (OFS). The company will offload 19.39 lac shares via OFS.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1409 and 984 respectively,
while 155 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 19676.06, up 381.94 points or 1.98%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 19723.51 and 19468.46 respectively. 27 stocks advanced against 3 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 118.40 points or 2.04% to settle at 5935.10. The index touched high and low of 5948.85 and
5887.95 respectively. 46 stocks advanced against 4 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6048.54 and gained 0.67% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.66% to 5747.84.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 7292.93 (up 1.59%) and CNX 500 index rose to 4586.45 (up 1.66%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 5.46% at 18.89 from its previous close of 19.98 on Wednesday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Metals (up 3.00%), Banks (up 2.48%) and Real Estate (up 2.44%) were the top gainers.
Consumer Durables (down 0.64%) was the top loser.
The Angels and the Devils
Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd (up 4.78%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 4.74%), HDFC Bank (up 3.32%), Bharti Airtel Ltd
(up 3.31%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (up 3.10%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.43%), Wipro Ltd (down 0.45%) and Cipla Ltd (down 0.11%) were the top losers on the

today.
On the other end Larsen And Toubro Ltd (-112.02 points), HDFC Bank (13.73 points), ITC Ltd (13.03 points), Housing
Development Finance Corporation Ltd (12.09 points) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (9.27 points) were the major
Nifty movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 5924 for next session. The next support is at 5899 and on upside it has a resistance at
5960 levels.
