1. Markets end flat; TCS, HDFC Bank shine on good Q1 show

After yesterday’s carnage, markets began on a positive note as India’s largest IT company T Consultancy Services (TCS)

met the street expectation with good Q1 show. Later, HDFC Bank also delighted investors by reporting 31% growth in its bottom line
beating street expectation. Investors were seen buying blue chips that were beaten down during yesterday’s bloodbath. Markets,
however erased all the intraday gains on profit booking by traders during late trading hours to close flat with negative bias.
Globally, Asian and European markets were mostly positive while U.S. indices closed in red.
On the macro front, India’s export and import declined by 5.45% and 13.46% respectively in June on y-o-y basis as per the Director
General of Foreign Trade Mr. A Pujari. For the June quarter, the exports and imports dropped by 1.7% and 6.1% respectively.

HDFC BANK: For the period while the Net Sales increased by 33.95%, Net Profit grown by 30.64% and thereby NPM reduced to

TCS: The company reported a 37.4 per cent rise in its Q1 profit. Revenue rose 37.7 percent from a year earlier for the company. The
