taking bullish positions on the first day of new F&O expiry series. Benchmarks pared some gains towards the later part of the session
owing to the sluggish European opening. Sensex gained almost 200 points to close the day.
India’s largest private sector bank, ICICI Bank has beaten the street expectation by reporting 36.24% growth in quarterly net profit
on 25.30% growth in Net Sales. The stock gained 2.3% on BSE today. (Detailed Result)
The market breadth on the BSE closed in negative. Advances and declining stocks were in a ratio of 1033:1706 while 132 scrips
remained unmoved.
The BSE Sensex ended at 16839.19, up 199.37 points or 1.20%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low of 16975.03 and
16760.72 respectively. 24 stocks advanced against 6 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The S&P CNX Nifty gained 56.85 points or 1.13% to settle at 5099.85. The index touched high and low of 5149.95 and 5077.50
respectively. 37 stocks advanced against 13 declining ones on the index.

The BSE Mid-cap index moved down to 5887.50 and lost 0.90% while Small-cap index hammered down by 0.97% to 6357.60.
The broader BSE 500 index increased to 6450.80 (up 0.48%) and S&P CNX 500 index rose to 4028.25 (up 0.62%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 0.43% at 16.44 from its previous close of 16.37 on Thursday.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Metals (up 2.09%), FMCG (up 1.35%) and Information Technology (up 1.28%) were the top gainers.
Real Estate (down 0.79%), Capital Goods (down 0.61%) and Healthcare (down 0.09%) were the top losers.
