15. Overview: School Health Professional Grant
• 2014: legalization of retail marijuana in Colorado
• School Health Professional Grant (SHPG) Program established by Colorado
Senate Bill 14-215
• To increase the presence of in-school health professionals throughout the
state’s K-12 schools
• The Colorado Department of Education is the agency responsible for
implementing the grant through an RFP process
• Grantees are district and charter schools, eligible for 3yr grants
• 53 grantees dispersed across the state
• Serving over 175,000 students
• Total funding for combined cohorts is $12M

16. SHPG: RBA Journey
• Needed a process to evaluate and communicate the collective impact of grantees
across the state to sustain funding
• RBA is selected: user-friendly, uses data for decision-making, operationalizes
collective impact and provides a process to work collaboratively with grantees
• Recruited an “Early Adopters” pilot group
• Two-day training and strategic planning session
• Identified 38 potential PMs and through subsequent calls the group prioritized -
using RBA criteria - to a final set of 18 agreed upon, shared PMs
