The document discusses the Houston Independent School District's plan to implement a new personalized learning initiative called PowerUp. PowerUp aims to provide all students with 1:1 devices and access to a central cloud-based portal called HUB. HUB will allow personalized learning experiences and access to resources anytime from any location. The rollout of PowerUp devices and HUB will be phased in over several years across all schools in the district.

Why are we doing this?

What is Next Gen learning?
– Personalized
– Dynamic and adaptive
– Competency-based progression
– Anytime, anywhere
– 21st century skills
The concepts are not new to educators,
but limits of traditional instruction have
made Next Gen learning mostly
unattainable AT SCALE.
Blended learning is the BRIDGE to
providing Next Gen learning at scale.
