Contents
 To design and implement an RFID based secured
access system, so that it can be implemented in many
applications like secured access in houses,government
and defense offices where high security is required
automated door lock system etc.
 To grant access to only authorized representative by
verifying RFID tag number and the entered password.

Objectives
 The project is mainly focused on developing a
microcontroller based system to grant access only
to authentic representatives and deny to
unauthorized.
 The project is built around AT89C51 architecture
based microcontroller along with a RFID Reader,
LCD and a keypad.

 The microcontroller to be used in this project is
AT89C51 and its specifications are as follows:-

 Up to 128 bytes RAM (Data memory)
 2 Timers
 32 I/o pins
 6 Interrupt sources
 1 Serial Port

 The rfid reader used is based on Wiegand Technology.
 The specifications of the same are given below:
 Card Type:-Proximity <=5 cm
 Card Frequency:-125 Khz
 Built-In Buzzer
 Ambient Humidity:-10%-90%
 Punching Interval < 0.5sec
 Communication Distance:-100 meters
 Dimensions:-116*75*16 mm

2.RFID Reader
 LCD is required to display the card read is valid and to confirm the
access. Here we have used LCD-JHD162A.
 Its features are as follows:
 16X2 Characters
 +5 V power supply
 Operating Temp.:-10℃~+60℃
 1/16 duty cycle
 Built-in Controller(KS 0066 or equivalent)
 Viewing angle: 6 o’clock
 Low power consumption.

2.Software
• This control system can be used in many applications
like home automated system, automated door lock
system,safe bank locker systems etc.
• It provides a cheap and reliable security alternative for
traditional systems available.

Advantages
 This control system can be used accordingly as in many applications by
making small changes in the hardware as well as software.
 It can used in home automation,where a GSM module along with a
SIM can be interfaced and a message can be sent to the owner making
him aware about intrusion in the house.
 Some software and hardware changes in such a way that the stepper
motor will be interfaced and it will only move until and unless correct
password is given then this type of system can act as a Automated
Door Lock System.
 This System can be made more secure by adding another layer of
security in the form of iris scan,biometrics etc. to develop a full-proof
system.

 This system can be useful in reducing risks involved in
security related problem areas either in
houses,government offices,Defence related areas.
 Thus,we have designed and implemented an
“RFID BASED SECURED ACCESS SYSTEM”
efficiently and have achieved our motto.

  • 3.  To design and implement an RFID based secured access system, so that it can be implemented in many applications like secured access in houses,government and defense offices where high security is required automated door lock system etc.  To grant access to only authorized representative by verifying RFID tag number and the entered password.   • 4.  The project is mainly focused on developing a microcontroller based system to grant access only to authentic representatives and deny to unauthorized.  The project is built around AT89C51 architecture based microcontroller along with a RFID Reader, LCD and a keypad.   • 14.  This control system can be used accordingly as in many applications by making small changes in the hardware as well as software.  It can used in home automation,where a GSM module along with a SIM can be interfaced and a message can be sent to the owner making him aware about intrusion in the house.  Some software and hardware changes in such a way that the stepper motor will be interfaced and it will only move until and unless correct password is given then this type of system can act as a Automated Door Lock System.  This System can be made more secure by adding another layer of security in the form of iris scan,biometrics etc. to develop a full-proof system.
