1) The document discusses the investigation of using nanodiamond foil to strip hydrogen ions for applications in spallation neutron sources. Nanodiamond was grown on a silicon substrate using chemical vapor deposition and the silicon was etched away to suspend the foil. 2) Testing of the nanodiamond foil found it to be of high quality with no cracks, having potential advantages over carbon foils currently used including higher strength and durability. 3) Further work is suggested to reduce stresses in the foil through annealing at different temperatures and times as well as introducing argon during growth to decrease crystal size.
