Learning Preference:
After taking the learning preference survey, my results were as follow: Reflective-1, Sensual-7,
Sequential-3, and Verbal-3. By the end of this course, my thinking has encouraged me to believe that I
definitely learn best visually, and verbally. By the looks of my results, I did not score high in the visual
and verbal portion of the survey, but I know that from firsthand experience, my learning preference is
learning visually and verbally. In addition, the result of the learning preference survey did not change my
view on the two learning preferences that suit me best. Overall, I do not believe that a survey can
determine what learning preference is best for you that is something you need to figure out within
yourself.
Learning Pathway:
For many reasons the learning pathway I chose at the beginning of the class is the warrior
pathway. I chose this particular pathway because I wanted to see self progression, personal growth, as
well as improvement within my academics over the semester. I wanted to be able to experience all
these things more on an individual level, rather than in a group. I do not mind working in groups at all,
but like I stated earlier, I wanted to experience the class on more of an individual level, rather than with
a group. From taking this course in general, on top of choosing the warrior pathway, I have honestly
definitely gained a better understanding of mobile technology as a whole, and I am overly ecstatic that I
got to experience this alone, because I learn better when I am alone. Throughout the course, I did not
change my learning pathway, or even had to second guess it. I am a people person, but in this particular
class I felt as if I would learn better if I worked alone so that I could experience everything, and all the
information that was being offered alone. I also did not want to have to rely on others, because some
people, but not all, do not like to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Activity Learning Contribution:
Overall, the activities that have helped me get a broader understanding of how to use a mobile
technology to learn would have had to be the activities within the iPod and MP3 quest. I really enjoyed
the mini lectures as well as the useful links about MP3 players and iPods because they both contained a
lot of useful information. This activity helped me because it was very basic and easy to learn and
understand comfortably. That overall helped me get a better understanding of how to use a MP3 player
or an iPod. Within the mini lectures the slides provided you with a lot of information. Some of the slides
included information on the basic functions of a MP3 player, as well as of the features it has. The mini
lecture also provided tips on different ways of learning on your MP3 player or iPod, as well as
information on how to share content regarding learning. Overall, these both were very helpful.
Top three mobile technologies:
Microblog:
The first mobile technology I am going to name is micro blogs. I used micro-blogging for my own
personal learning by using it to help me study for my jazz class. I used it by blogging questions about

2. certain jazz sounds and I also blogged about experiences I have had, and questions I have as well. I think
that this particular mobile technology accommodates my visual learning preference extremely well,
because I like being able to see things. Micro-blogging also helped my sequential learning preference as
well. If you are interested in a topic that is described in the news feed, there is generally a link that can
direct you to more information or possibly even direct you to a news article. From there you can either
read the article if it interests you or choose not to read it, the choice is totally yours.
iPods and MP3 players:
My second choice is iPods and MP3 players. This particular mobile technology helped me with my own
learning tremendously. Out of the two technology’s I used the iPod the most to help with my own
learning. The iPod allowed me to download a lot of educational apps, and my overall favorite app that I
downloaded was the flash card app. This app allowed you to create flashcards with words and pictures.
This app helped me study for my jazz tests, as well as for my English vocabulary tests. This specific
mobile technology accommodated my active and visual learning preferences. This technology
accommodated my visual learning preference because it allowed me to make the flashcards and then
study them so that I could be readily prepared for my upcoming tests.
iPads and Tablets:
The third and final mobile technology that I chose was iPads and tablets. I think that the iPads design
looks really cool, and if I had the money I would definitely buy one. However, my mom has one and she
lets me use it whenever she is not using it. This mobile technology helped me a lot with learning on
own. As I stated above about in the iPod and MP3 section, I was able to download all the same apps on
my mom’s iPad that I was able to download on my iPod, which was a plus because the iPads screen is
much bigger and better for my visual learning preference. The learning preference that this mobile
technology accommodated is my verbal learning preference. This mobile technology let me download
apps that helped with my education on so many levels. There was an app that I downloaded that helped
people learn different languages, and this app was perfect for me because I really want to learn how to
speak French.
Synthesize:
The mobile technologies that interested me the most as learning tools would have to be the iPod and
MP3. This particular mobile technology interested me the most because I was eager to learn how a iPod
and MP3 player could help me on a educational level, instead of just entertaining me. The micro
blogging technology surprised me the most because I did not think I would enjoy “micro-blogging”
simply because I have never enjoyed or took the time to blog before. After I tried micro-blogging, I loved
it and have been micro-blogging every since. I would love to explore the iPad mobile technology so I can
further improve my learning because I want to find more educational apps that I can use to help me on
an educational level. I am so use to downloading game apps; so I would love to try something different.

3. The mobile technology that worked best for my learning preference would have to be micro-blogging.
This is the mobile technology I used the most because I wanted to improve my study habits and tests
grades in jazz class. This particular mobile technology helped me tremendously and it helped me
become better in my music 501 class overall. While micro-blogging I was able to blog any questions I
may have had on the subject as well as look for other blogs that may have useful information about jazz.
After micro-blogging for the first time, I fell in love with doing it.
How will this information be used after this class? :
After this class I will continue to use the micro-blog learning strategy mainly because it is easy to
understand and I use this on a consistent basis. I will also continue to use twitter and facebook, because
I already use these sites regularly. I use facebook for my own personal use and I use twitter for work
related business. I currently work for a boutique and we advertise different promotions and different
things we are having through our twitter page, and it is really fun to use. I have learned a lot of valuable
learning strategies from this class, and I will continue to use many of them.
The mobile technology I will use for more learning after this class would have to be the iPad. I love using
the iPad because it is light and the screen is a nice size, so it is easy to see things on it. I love using the
educational apps that I have recently downloaded to help with my educational learning. My favorite app
is the flashcard app, because it is very easy and fun to use. I hope to find more educational apps like this
one, because I would really love to further my education using the iPad mobile technology.
