PDHPE in primary schools
• PDHPE (Personal Development, Health and Physical
Education) promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for
younger children.
• It is the basis of their physical, social and cognitive growth
and assists their wellbeing and individuality.
• Teachers are the foundation to students in their abilities to
be active outdoors and indoors, encouraging safety
awareness and increasing their perceptions of sport for the
future

4. Personal Rationale
As a teacher, I find PDHPE allows students to learn in an
environment that is supportive of their development as
children, and helps to assist their maintenance of positive
interpersonal relationships.
It helps the children to grow and become active, happy and
healthy members of society, building their social confidence
and fitness levels.
I believe it is an important curriculum to adhere to and
prepares them for growth in the future.
